Did I Buy a Fake Xiaomi Powerbank 2i on eBay?

TL;DR - S7 phone not being fast charged by powerbank 2i bought off eBay - is it a fake?

*Update - it doesn't support dual charging or QC another S7.
It's such a good fake I'm actually impressed. I'm planning on weighing it when I get home as well.

Hi all,

Seeking advice, and opinions on whether or not Xiaomi 10,000mah Powerbank 2i (Dual usb type a ports) I bought on eBayis a fake.

It doesn't seem to QC my S7 and doesn't seem to support pass through charging.
Quality build is on par with Xiaomi.

My previous Xiaomi powerbank 2 10,000mah supported QC.

Is there a something different I need to do with the 2i - have I read the specs wrong?

    Did it have a Xiaomi seal on it to check here? It should be a silver sticker on the outside of the box.

      It did have a seal. is it something i can scratch off?
      as the seal was only shiny..i'll have to confirm when i get home.

        I believe it's a peel off sticker but I'm not 100% sure, I'll have to double check when I get home for my genuine 2i.

      Do all Xiaomi products have a security code? I am keen on getting a Xiaomi powerboard and powerbank but have read so much about fake Xiaomi products I have held back.

    Have you emailed the seller asking why it is not QCing your phone? Otherwise, request a refund through eBay if you are not satisfied.

      i'll do so once i gauge some replies from people who have one.

      I was wondering if i was doing something wrong or had to do something special to get it to trigger.

    Are you using a supported cable? Not all cables support QC to my knowledge.

      cable came with the charger.

        Try different cable, but it really should support pass through charging.

        Maybe seller cheaped out on the cable…. try a cable you know works with QC, but yeah you might have been dudded.

    Make sure you have enabled fast charging in your settings.

      QC works with my wall charger.
      I also just double checked my advance battery settings. On.

    Throw up a few photos of the unit and packaging. Usually it's a difference in fonts and print quality that gives it away, though they may be getting better at it these days.

    As already mentioned there should be a sticker on the box with a scratch off panel you can use to verify, but who knows, they may manage to get hold of discarded original packaging or something, though unlikely…

    The included cable should work with QC ok, plug your phone into the computer with it and see if it recognises it. It needs the data wires for QC as well.
    Guessing you've tried both ports as well, in case only one supports QC?

      cable seems to work fine when plugged in through a pc.
      Tried both ports - 2i specs state that both ports can supply QC as long as only one port is in use. Check.

      Packaging to me looks A-grade and comparable to the packaging quality of my 10,000mah & power bank 2 10,000mah.

      i'll check the sticker when i get home.

      I might check to see if it works on another device that supports QC.

    Sorry to revive this but I also bought the same power bank and it also doesn't QC on samsung S8.

    Did you do anything about this OP?
