You can only pair them through the UE Boom app so only via your phone. I've found that it's a bit buggy sometimes, although I haven't tried it in about a year so perhaps they have released an update.

Thanks for the tip! I've been regularly watching for UE Boom 2 prices. Right now JB have got the JBL Charge 3 (which is better than the Flip 4) for the same price as the Flip 4 at $149:
