  • cotton rich fabric

    What does that mean?

    • +1

It means it's not 100% cotton

      • It's a bold strategy, let's see if it pays off for em

  • Cotton rich bed sheets are sheets that are made of a blend of materials, mainly cotton and polyester. Any type of sheet labeled "cotton rich" is obviously going to be made primarily of cotton. The important thing to note is the ratio of the blend of materials, as well as what exactly is being blended with the cotton.

    • +2

The important thing to note is the ratio of the blend of materials, as well as what exactly is being blended with the cotton.

So why don't you put the materials and the ratio in the description?

"cotton rich" doesn't tell a prospective customer anything.

    • +4

      "Primarily" of cotton?
I would agree that the term 'cotton rich' implies more cotton than any other fibre.
However, the description now clarifies that it is 50% cotton, 50% polyester.
So it is NOT cotton rich using your own definition.
It is as much POLYESTER RICH as it is cotton.

    • "Cotton-rich" is a euphemism used by marketers of sheets that have up to 50% (or sometimes even more) polyester in them.

Specifically developed as an alternative to 100% cotton, cotton-rich fabrics combine the comfort and absorbency of cotton with the extra durability and performance qualities of polyester. Klopman’s cotton-rich fabrics meet the demands of the widest range of garments, from heavy-duty workwear to clothes which require softer styling and drape.

Our fabrics ensure excellent tear and abrasion resistance even after repeated industrial laundering. The cotton-rich blend avoids high levels of shrinkage which is so often a characteristic of 100% cotton.

      • +2

The cotton-rich blend avoids high levels of shrinkage which is so often a characteristic of 100% cotton

        Can also be this…

"The POLY-rich blend avoids high levels of shrinkage which is so often a characteristic of 100% cotton"

Abolsute tosh though. I have a huge collection of quality cotton products from bedspreads to shirts & they havent shrunk yet. Only shrinkage I've ever incurred is with t-shirts that are very finely made.

        • Polyester is a highly durable fabric and usually can survive years of washing and wear. Cotton is more delicate. Cotton is more susceptible to general wear and tear from daily use and tends to shrink slightly when it is washed. Although polyester generally retains its shape and look over the years, polyester fabric tends to pill, and it doesn't get much softer with use. Most cottons, particularly long-fiber cotton sheets, stay soft and free of pills.
so in bedding when poly-cotton fabric is used it gives you both benefits.Softness and long life of the quilt cover.

          @kellydiana:

Durable? Indeed it is but that is not the main concern here. What breathes best? Cotton most definitely does. There is reason why virtually every male, who works in an office will only purchase 100% cotton shirts & not a blend. Same principle applies for bedding too.
Considering the summers we recieve in Sydney, it's just madness to consider a poly blend, when pure cotton or linen (Personal fave) beddign can be just as 'durable' if you buy quality.

  • Every ratio is different it varies on products and its sizes so I have posted the link to associate there are five designs with different material descriptions.

Every ratio is different it varies on products

So what, you can make the information available on your website for each product, not that difficult.

  • All the discription is on the website the link I associated OZ is my website of where customer can buy

    • All the discription is on the website

      What website is that?

my website of where customer can buy

Which is exactly where the relevant information should be.

  • +1

Not a great deal considering we don't know the material %s.
    Rookie mistake.

    • Every thing is described on the store
although they are 250 to 350 thread count and all the products are poly-cotton

      • +3

I've just checked the link provided and there are no material breakdown from what I can see.

Cotton rich merely infers it is the dominant material used. This could be 50.01% or 99% cotton. Stark difference. It's essential to supply this information, even more so when a website utilises a number of superlatives to descrbe their range :)

        • the ratio of poly cotton in Australia standard size are 50% cotton and 50% polyster

        • +6

          @kellydiana:

          50% cotton and 50% polyster

How is that "cotton rich", it's no more cotton rich than it is polyester rich?

        • @kellydiana: Can we pay half the asking price and call you rich, since you like that sort of thing?

      • We come here for bargains. You posted the deal here. As Member scab indicated already, relevant information belongs in your description. Your 'edit' button is between 'view' and 'revisions'.

  • We like to see prices. Bargains have prices.

I have found reviews for this seller and must leave a neg as I feel there is a major issue

    https://www.productreview.com.au/p/rushk-1.html

Placed an order for a Savannah Kidkraft dollhouse for my daughter and shipping was quoted on website to be 3-5 days.
After waiting about 3 weeks or more I contacted the company and was told via email that they had overlooked my order and that the actual product itself was out of stock.
This was meant to a gift for my daughters birthday so now I have an upset 4 year old.
Although they apologised and did refund my money, I'm extremely disappointed with their service. I wish I had read some of these reviews prior to purchasing because it seems to be a common issue with this company.
I suggest RushK get their act together or stop operating full stop. Too many disappointed customers and such a complete waste of my time!

    and

I had purchased a $300 rug that was sold out almost everywhere else so from this company online. I couldn't believe my luck I was going to get the rug I had been eyeing off for months. Although it did end up arriving, it took over a month of me chasing them (unanswered emails, unanswered phone calls & unanswered online chats) it wasn't until I really kicked up a stink and threatened consumer affairs action is when the online chat consultant endeavored to track down the process of my order.

    and

I placed an order online 17 days ago. Their site says shipping will happen within 5 days. Well this didn't happen. I contacted them to ask when my order will be shipped & they advised my order would be shipped 'end of the week, start of the following'. That didnt happen either! After another 2 emails to them they eventually told me the items weren't in stock & they were waiting on the supplier & they wouldn't have the items until the end of the month. (Another 2 weeks away!). I told them they should not be selling items & taking peoples money if the item/s are not in stock! Or at least specify that items are out of stock & their expected arrival date!!

I have since asked for my order to be canceled & for a refund to be issued asap. Well 2 days after sending that email they finally replied telling me it's in their 'database' & my refund will be processed in 5-7 business days!!! What a joke! I'm not holding my breath on their 'timeline'.

    and

Brought a children's play kitchen from rushk

after purchase they said they couldn't send it for the price they say and they wanted extra money for transport, we said no as we then researched this company and saw many terrible reviews, we said we will pay the extra transport cost when we get it delivered "cod". weeks went buy and we hadn't received our order, we tried calling them but there customer service was a joke.

we demanded a refund but it never came, we ended up getting our bank to get their bank to get our money back.

Seems to be an ongoing theme with these reviews.

They also trade as Fab/Elan Linen. You can read some of the reviews I found for that business in this thread

I also found a review for them on whirlpool as well:

    http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2662637

    They're not legit.

It's run by a guy(s) named Abdul/Ashah based in Pakistan, who also runs a torrent site and another home based site called Rushk.

    As a note:
    - Elan Linen is advertised as based in Victoria
    - Rushk is advertised as being based in Queensland

Both have the same owner, ABN, registrants etc.
The addresses they used on their site are just random and belong to other companies/owners.

My fiancee made the mistake of placing an order with them last year that I had to clean up. They are just drop shippers, but they don't actually place an order with a supplier. If you do ever get through by phone, it transfers you to a VOIP line to a lady overseas (confirmed this with Telco.)

    These are the 2 guys:
    - https://pk.linkedin.com/in/abdul-aziz-149b52113

Their warehouse is a little building that for some reason says 'National Postal Service' on the sign.

    https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-37.8176292,144.9552744,3a,7…

Not sure that they can fit much stock in that tiny building considering it houses a cafe as well!

Anyway, it's a no from me.

Superb input. I sincerely hope no Member placed an order and both of Associated OP's stores are permanently banned.

Negging due to major issue with retailer as per the results of Member xev's investigation.

  • +1

Negging due to negative reviews with this vendor as found by member Xev.

Also the same mob here running Elan Linen, and of course, handled by the same Associated OP.
