  • Not including contacts?

  • Would I be able to use my contact prescription when ordering glasses?

    • No you can't. They are usually different.

  • I heard that you can no longer claim rebate from your private health fund if you purchase from ClearlyContacts. Is that true?

    • +2

It wouldn't surprise me. In 2006 I did an order with them and my health insurer wouldn't let me claim it since Clearly Contacts refused to provide an item code (I contacted them multiple times about the issue - no resolution).

In short - avoid these guys.

      • Can anyone confirm this?
If this is the case, could we purchase this and put have the order on someone elses name who doesn't have health insurance? How would they know?

    • I also put a claim in end of last year, and it was put on hold until the Provider number was supplied. Clearly Contacts said to me they were looking to renew their Number but expected it to take between 3 and 6 months (we'll see).

Meanwhile, I think I was saving just under 50% for the same brand contacts from these guys.

I did get a fake pair from there, ever since then, I never buy anything from Clearlycontacts. Not worth to pay more than 20 bucks for those fake pairs

    • +1

Care to elaborate please. How do you know they were fake?

      • +1

i think what he/she was meant to say is that during the special promotion that the had going few months ago where they were offering free glasses with lenses they were shipping the correct frames with incorect lenses, had the same thing happen to me..
Didnt really complain because all i had to pay was shipping, so beware of buying anything from there.

I got them from the same promotion.
          Everything is fine.
It's ok for me & I gave a gift card to a friend to
get a new pair too with the same condition, pay only shipping.

        • +1

I am pretty sure they sell fake frames as well.

      • My friend bought a same branded style pair from OPSM retail shop, so I knew I got a fake pair.

  • Does the price include lenses?

  • Looks like the prices are active already…and yes, seems like they include the basic lenses.

  • +2

Looks like they got rid of every designer brand before putting their "entire inventory" on sale!

  • I ordered a free pair last time they had the promotion.

When it came, I was surprised to find it way too small for me (in fact it would probably be for a 10 year old).

Shoulda checked the width of the glasses!!!

I checked out a couple just then. Saw the biggest being 122mm (in the style i liked). Measured up my current glasses and I think it's about 136mm! Don't want to look like I've got a big head, so I'll pass this time around!

Good deal, just not good for me. :-P

    • i got a free pair on the last offer.

their frame width measurements are crap, just 2 x lens diameter + bridge width. everyone else measures the distance from one extreme to the other. there could be an extra cm or two on each side depending on the style of the temple arms. you really need to examine each pair of glasses.

their virtual mirror application is also crap and i doubt it shows the frames at the correct scale.

and yes all the designer glasses seem to have conveniently disappeared.

  • Stocks of the 'designer' brands are all ready 0 or low!!

  • yeah some of the designer brands already missing either they hide them or already sold out

  • Is adding a tint to the lens the equivalent of prescription sunglasses?

    • It costs extra

    • -1

No prescription sunglasses are when the manufacturer eg. Oakley will make the lenses with your prescription in them but they still use the same lens. (If that makes sense)

Adding a tint to glasses does not make them block UV rays AFAIK, it only lets less light in. Thus why you can have sunglasses with a clear tint, not to mention clear contacts that can still protect you from UV rays.

      • Dont think you are correct .. they claim to provide 'Sunglass Tints' [sic] to the prescription lens for an extra 19.95

        • Ignore what I said everyone =P

  • Can i get any of these with an 17-85mm IS lens?

  • Got my freebie pair about a year ago and have been loving them, so I ordered a pair now, cost me $50 which is slightly less than I would have paid with my Medibank Private rebate and leaves me with extra rebates claims to buy some contacts which need a top up

  • hey folks…do not buy from quicklenses. they are crooks.
many people are in my same situation. we paid for our contact leses in early december. they promised delivery in a week. now it's one month and a half, still no contact lenses. we sent heaps of email asking for information about the items we paid for. we have received no reply.
    they are crooks.
get to their facebook page and you will see how many people got conned by them.

  • for those of you who haven;t realised it yet, clearcontacts and quicklens are the same entity

  • My wife and I have two pairs each from clearlycontacts.com.au
All were perfect and delivered quickly. They came with case, cloth and mini screwdriver.

  • I ordered 4 pairs from clearlycontacts before and all of them was delivered in good condition.

I am glad there is an alternative place we can get cheap and good spectacles, compared to all those overpriced optical shops in Sydney.

    +1 from me.
