    "Mini" forsakes the SLI slot..? hmmm

    • Not sure what you mean

    • +3

      No it still has the SLI connectors

    • +2

      it's not like you're going to ever buy another one. SLi technology might be better these days scaling wise but 1 card is still way better.

      • +1

        Not that it matters, just want to put my hand up as a proud 1080 SLI owner.

        • +2

          Congrats?

        • +1

          @g2420hd:
          Thanks man. Feels good.

  • +3

    Size does not matter XD

  • +1

    Do the minis have drawbacks? More heat /less performance?

    • +5

      This is a decent review of the card, it appears that it does get quite hot and loud http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/zotac-geforce-gtx-1080-…

      • +1

        I have a 1070 Ti Mini which design-wise should be similar / nearly the same except for marginally less heat.

        Subjectively I'd rate the noise and heat as above average (in the bad sense), but not awful. Minimum fan speed I found to be rather high which means it'll never be "quiet" at idle even if you use MSI Afterburner etc for a custom fan profile, just "not loud". Disclaimer: this is within a case with high airflow (RL06); if you put it into something with less airflow the results will obviously get worse.

        If you're an average user with a case with okay / good airflow who isn't strongly opinionated about noise, I don't think you'd mind using this if you don't get unlucky with coil whine (that review had issues with it, I've also had it happen on-and-off with my card).

    • +1

      yeah you'd ideally use this in a small case and not overclock it

    • Not as much overclocking headroom as other full sized cards but otherwise they're 100% of a 1080 in a small form factor.

    • Nope not much very negligible. I think Tek Everything did a good review of them. I remember my takeaway was this exact same model versus a full sized variant was no difference like none which was uplifting because I really wanna make a 1080 sff build hopefully this year if not a 1080ti mini but so far that project seems to be a lot harder or pricier mainly because of the
      diy needed on the custom psu.. these cards need a lot of energy.

    Enjoying these prices while they last. RIP Amazon USA

      • +8

        No. These are special deals of the day and are uncommonly good. The Australian deals won't align with the American deals.

        All this change will do is force people to get their re-shipping act together, with the upside that brands not available now will be unlocked (e.g Nike stuff).

        • -3

          How do you know that USA products won't also have the same specials?

          All regular prices seem to be the same on Amazon USA to Amazon USA products on Amazon AU except a few dollars for GST.

          better to wait and see before making statements….

        • +6

          @samfisher5986:

          Mate looking at the state of the Amazon AU site and I can tell the governments screwed us over. We all know the AUS site is very poor in price and range. Past history of the AU site tells you whats in store for the future.

          https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/87899/59387/amazon.png

          Shows they are adding 4 million products from Amazon USA.

        • +1

          @samfisher5986:

          an example from an article.

          $171 shipped (US) vs $380 shipped (AU)

        • +1

          @samfisher5986:

          Because amazon uk and amazon us don't have the same daily deals. They are never as good as the US ones either.

        • +1

          @4tran:

          You aren't paying attention to what I'm saying.

          Does your Amazon AU link have "Ships from and sold by Amazon US."?

          No?

          Then its an Amazon AU product, not US.

        • @fuzor: Whats new? The government finds any way it can screw over the common man here, This country would be a lot better if it wasn't controlled by senile old people who have no (profanity) idea about modern society.

        • -3

          @HKS: A vote for Liberal or Labour is a vote for paying more tax because the wealthiest want to be wealthier.

          If you think voting Labour is better than Liberal ask yourself when was the last time Labour undid any of these features of a dangerous neo-liberal ideology running the country.

          Just to be clear, the danger is losing your wealth so the wealthiest become wealthier.

        • +3

          @Diji1: it's all the same shit, i voted labor because they're the best of the worst.

      • +5

        All USA products will be added to AU.

        Should probably take your own advice.

        better to wait and see before making statements….

        • -1

          Their words not mine.

          Although I imagine they will add a filter to only allow products that will ship to Australia.

        • +1

          @samfisher5986: When did Amazon state all the products available on the US store will be added to the AU store?

        • -3

          @Lorindor:

          https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/87899/59387/amazon.png

          @samfisher5986:

          Shows they are adding 4 million products from Amazon USA.

          I'd say Amazon would have just a tad more than 4 million products available specifically to their US site.

        • +1

          @samfisher5986: There was an article sometime back. Amazon has over 200 million items on the US site. over 5 million items of clothing alone. So 4 million is less than 2% of USA site items.

        • @Lorindor:
          They didn't.

          “Amazon Global Store will allow Australian customers to shop on Amazon.com.au for over four million items that were previously only accessible on Amazon.com. This selection is in addition to the more than 60 million products that are already available on Amazon.com.au across 23 categories, including books, fashion, toys, and electronics.”

          Quoted from here: https://www.news.com.au/finance/business/retail/we-regret-an…

          I'd suggest it is only items sold by Amazon themselves that were already elligible for shipping to Australia from the US site. I guess we'll have to see if list prices are inflated compared to the US store.

        • @gromit:

          As already mentioned, most of Amazon USA couldn't ship to Australia…

        • @samfisher5986: Amazon has 600+ million products on their US site, that 4 million is less than 1%.

        • @drone lives matter:

          Well you say 600 million, the other guy said 200 million.

          Either way most items can't be shipped to Australia.

      • +3

        https://www.businessinsider.com.au/amazon-us-will-stop-shipp…

        "Amazon has established a ‘global store’ option on its Australian site offering more than four million products that were previously only accessible from amazon.com and will collect and remit the 10 per cent GST on these sales.

        However, the global store will offer a fraction of the 480 million products currently available on amazon.com."

        The only way Australian consumers will be able to shop on Amazon’s US and UK sites is to have orders sent to an address in the US or UK or use an online freight forwarding service.

  • Hopefully all these "10-series" sales means that the "11-series" is right around the corner.

    I'm eager to upgrade from my 2x980s to an 1180.

  • yeh Rip black friday sales in November :''''(
    some1 make a website, for haulers that travel often to usa and back to oz.
    we flip them $10 or something.
    you know like China does with our powdered Milk.

    • You pay them $10 to save hundreds? Seems legit

  • +1

    I’m seeing $559.99 USD, has the price changed?

  • Buy now or wait?

    • Does this question factor in July 1 deadline?

      • maybe there will be more GTX 10 deals upcoming in general. are they being phased out?

        • You could be right but my gut tells me that this is a good price.. even if it drops to $500 AUD honestly with the stupid gpu miners controversy this is a good price.

          But personally I am trying to score a 1080Ti version of this for about this price.

  • -8

    Expired price 559$

    • +5

      so report the deal as expired. You don't neg the deal..

  • RIP/

  • Zotac aren't known for their quality so if buying from overseas I would only look for EVGA, as they provide international warranty coverage.

    • Do EVGA even make a mini?

  • +1

    You can noctua fan mod this for pure silence

  • -2

    What's the point buying this now? Even at this price the new cards are just around the corner and the gtx 1160 will have same performance as this card and cheaper

    • Isn't it more like an 1170? In which case it's decently priced.

    • +2

      Lol, nvidia themselves havnt even confirmed the dates yet, nor did they say it was true.

      1160 will have the same performance as 1080?

      Might as well wait for the 1280 too

      • Yeah I don't think we are gonna see massive gains in improvement unless who knows we find a major discount gpu technology. These cards right now are as good as it gets unless you don't plan on building for another 5-10 years which was literally me in about 2009.
