        I think the difference is actually the Aldi one is a Smart LED TV and this one is a light bulb.

        It's mostly about the GDPR policy in Europe that's making every company changing their policies. Obviously Xiaomi is affected by this and they kinda waited until the last minute to make some changes and so the servers aren't working as a result of that.

        A lot of Europeans are frustrated by this but it's only affected the Europeans so far. But seems like Yeelight staff are on it and is trying to solve it as much as they can. They can still select another server and make changes as they wish but i kinda understand why they are frustrated about. If something like that happens to them, who knows what will happen to anyone else using Yeelight lights? It's heavily based on servers and saving stuff via Mi cloud, and given that these are Chinese products privacy is at risk. I hope in the future Yeelight staff focus on giving an option for users to save them locally or to their own cloud of choice.

      Because they are freaking awesome. I have one in my room and it's bright af.

      Definitely a must buy for anyone looking for wireless lights. I'm yet to see how it saves money though. But that is to be known after a few months.

    The description of these bulbs on Zapal and other websites is very misleading. I bought it last time thinking that they are HomeKit compatible but they are not.

    According to Yeelight, they will be providing HomeKit support later (already been over 6 months). So don't buy it for this reason!

    I googled it and looks like second generation of these globes are Bluetooth only, no wifi.
    So I will get first gen instead.

      not sure why you said they are not wifi compatiable. In the description

      These ones are wifi btw, i got the YLDP06YL version too and it's wireless, not BT.

      Oh I got the wrong information, I was searching for the actual globe size for two versions then I saw that info.
