I bought a Samsung C 32'' from Good Guys a while ago for $500. Obviously, this is 40'', but $600 more for 8'' is quite a lot. Don't see any deal here.

Bing Lee has a Samsung 40'' for $800 not include shipping. It's a C model though, so it's not the same.

Please do note it is an older B model..
However, the motion plus for LA40C550 is below 100Hz. So when you are watching fast moving scenes it's not as good as the LA40B750.
And I'm not sure if LA40C550 will be the right model to compare with LA40B750. Perhaps the 6 series would be closer to compare with 7series, as the current 'C' model doesn't make 40" in series 7 yet.
Once again it is an older model B series and because it is an older model you can make the savings.
However, if you do not like the brand itself, there isn't much I could say as it's entirely your choice and opinion and I respect your own opinion.
