FREE Oak Lime Spider 600ml With Barcode from Good Call Reward Email @ 711

470

Got an email via Your Good Call Reward email for 711.

The barcode seems too generic to be a 1 use barcode.

Sharing is caring. If you also got an email, please let us know if the barcode is the same.

EDIT: Seems to be unique. Sorry.

  • Cheers OP, will try when I fill up this arvo.

  • Do you do taste testing?

    • +1

It tastes like Cottee's Cordial Lime Coola mixed with milk.

    beware of spider

Will they let you scan a barcode from here like this?

    • click on the link, and it will show up as just the barcode. Then zoom in too fill the screen.

      • Yes that is what I mean.

How can 7-11 let you scan just the barcode from nowhere and not from the app or flyer, etc.

        • It comes from an email.

        • +1

          @sween64:

At least they will assume you to show them the email not just a barcode like that.

        • That's the point of a barcode…

        • @StoneSin:

I don't think the email just came with the barcode.

        • @superforever: Most things don't come with just the barcode, but the barcode is what represents the thing as far as a computer's concerned.

        • -1

          @StoneSin:

You don't know what I am talking about.

The staff at 7-11 will not let you scan just the barcode you printed from here. They will need to see the email itself with the barcode.

        • +1

@superforever: No they won't. If it scans and comes up with an error then you don't get the deal, if it reduces your item to $0 then you get the deal.

You say "I have a barcode for this to be reduced to $0, but only took a pic of the barcode", they scan, something happens and you end in a result of successful scan or not.

It's not hard logic. That is, by definition, the reason why people use QR and Barcodes.

Do you think Woolworths workers would care if you somehow got the data from your woolies card onto your phone and scanned with that? No.

        • @StoneSin:

Do you think Woolworths workers would care if you somehow got the data from your woolies card onto your phone and scanned with that? No.

Yes! Woolies have questioned people scanning Rewards cards stored on their phone in the past. As has been commented on here in a deal to obtain $25 of points when setting up a Rewards card. Ozbargainers witnessed verbal disputes with staff. Woolies staff refused to accept the stored cards without showing a real card.
People were obtaining card numbers & using the stored value. That is fraud. Woolies had to change their system, issue new cards & refunds to those who complained (I was affected), & redesign the apps & their system! (The Money app now shows the Reward card barcode, but is password protected.)

In this case it's just wasting time trying with unique bar codes. Easier to join up & scan the monthly offer - just not this monthđź‘Ť

        • @Infidel: Woolies has? Or the clerk has? We're not talking about Woolies doing something.

        • @StoneSin:
Same difference when the staff member rejects your barcode.

No use debating when only those receiving the email qualify. Don't think I'll enjoy the drink, but it's free.

        • @Infidel: No. Woolies tells staff to reject things.

  • Anyone haa successfully claim with just uaing the barcode?

  • +4

In my experience, the barcode is 1 use - mine is a different code to yours. I’ve also had an instance where the cashier processed the discount/freebie incorrectly and when scanning to try again a second time it said the code/voucher was already used.
    Hope this helps :)

    • +2

      My barcode is also different.

  • -2

I didn't get an email but would be unlikely to enjoy it anyway.

    • +2

      Thanks for the update.

      • +1

Thank you for thanking me. Seeing as you are so interested, I just checked my emails and still don't have a barcode.
My attitudes towards the Lime Spider haven't changed either.

  • The YGC barcodes have always been unique lol

  • No 7/11s in Adelaide.

    This sucks!

    • +6

Not as much as Oak Lime Spider I'd assume.

      • No, the Oak Lime Spider is sucked….the buyer "sucks".

  • anyone tried using this barcode yet let us know if it works as I suspect it might be unique?

  • It's unique, I got a different barcode

  • +1

    Pros: Free.
    Cons: Lime milk.

    Errrgghhh conflicted

  • Bit Shady rocking up with just a barcode with no description. Can you share the whole coupon OP?

I actually bought it a couple of times. It tastes much better than you would think it would.

  • -1

I had one of these when they popped up for $2 on the Seven-11 App.

It was awful. Truly awful. Save your tastebuds!

I wish we got Spearmint flavoured milk over in Vic like they do in WA.

  • +3

So many "has anyone tried the barcode?" questions unanswered because no-one actually wants the bloody drink hahahahaa….

    • +1

      Slightly lactose intol here :(

  • +1

If anyone who received this is repulsed by the thought of lime with milk but would like to read feedback on the flavour, my inbox is open!

  • +3

The barcode doesn’t work. I just tried it after getting another two free Big Macs on the way home.

    • +2

Thankyou for trying, and saving me the 100 metre walk from my work to try it myself

      • +1

20 meters from my office, if you don't count going down in the lift :P

  • -8

You know what, I paid for this when I saw it in 7-11 a month or so ago. It wasn't that good and while it might be free you pay for it in the very very high amount of sugar (read the label)!

    • +2

Im pretty sure that is the case with any flavoured milk, and almost any soft drink also. And lollies also.
Very very high in sugar, but people accept/expect this when consuming such foods and drinks. Even the 'sugar free' stuff, has something else instead to sweeten.

    • +3

Are you negging because it is now free? Did you read the label before purchasing yours?

  • I'll be honest, the idea grossed me out, but it actually tasted really nice imo, nice enough for me to check my inbox for this deal.

I would definitely buy again in the future if at a reasonable price.

  • +1

Its not a flavour I’d buy all the time, but it’s actually not too bad. Quite similar flavour to a Splice/Bulla Split.

  • Good freebieđź‘Ť
Liked the flavour - took me back to childhood trying every flavour milkshake in shop. Had a few lime milkshakes.
