    Recommend HR. Holds up well.

  • Deus Ex is awesome, nothing beats darting a doberman and watching it run around to the music.

  • any recommendations to someone who knows nothing about this series and has never even looked at gameplay of deus ex?

A silent takedown is always the best takedown.

    • The series is a role playing first person shooter with heaps of choice on how to complete your missions. The story doesn't really continue on from the first two to the second two.

Just give the original a go I reckon for a dollar. Honestly there aren't many games I can look back on and say wow that was an experience. Deus Ex though is definitely one of them… along with Mass Effect 2, Freelancer, Red Dead Redemption, Ocarina of Time etc

Buy the first one - it's only a dollar.

All the other games are garbage.

    • I played HR and would definitely recommend it. Stealth/shooter gameplay (i.e. take down a bunch of guys in a level and it's your choice how you do it) set in a cool sci-fi future world. Good storyline and immersive world.

  • Never played a Deus Ex game before. Should I go GOTY or Invisible War? Or should I spend more than $1 and get The Fall for $2 or Human Revolution for $2.50?

(note I've got my store set to Singapore so have just rounded the prices).

    • Didn't know games are cheaper to purchase from Singapore Steam store still… good to know.

      • With current AUD/SGD it may not be… but I still have some wallet balance from when I lived there.

deus ex goty is considered an all time classic but it's quite old, human revolution is newer and quite good

Was about to buy Human Revolution DC… luckily Steam informed me I already own it (bought on Mar 3 - $2.99).
Still haven't installed it yet, after 2 months.

    • Common problem for me… sometimes I only realise too late after I've bought something again from a third party (eg Humble Bundle!)
