Is someone really going to water damage their own photos just to get them scanned for free ? =P

      • from this
        http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/38058
        "why would they want to….
they are just simply wasting their, others and the business’s time
and a photo restoration would not be better than a original photo"

      • Possibly - if the quality ends up comparable, you got a high quality digital scan.

But please don't. Whilst I personally wouldn't make much of this service as my photos would have either been water damaged beyond their capabilities (eg damaged computer hardware) or fine because I remembered to grab my USBs/SD cards before fleeing the floods.

      • lol, there's always a few evil guys on here who would do anything to stick it to the man.
let the poor bastards that need this free service use it because there lives are already underwater.

dont listen to him guys! he just wants to score all the good stuff for himself. I heard it in the other thread that he plans to rub dirt all over his naked child photos, and send thousands of them in under fake names 4 free.
he said it was cheaper than paying for a scanner.
      DONNT TRUST HIM!!

  • This lovely idea originally came from this mob: http://www.operationphotorescue.org/
They have (sadly) lots of experience after Hurricane Katrina and have performed photoshop miracles - if Art House is out of reach, might be worth contacting them.
