The giveaway licence ($59.95 valued) will let you unlock full features of the latest version 5.12.1 (released on Mar 15). It doesn't have limits on use time but excludes free upgrades to future versions.

How to get:
Head over to the page and click the button "Get Free". You'll get a ZIP file incl. licence key and installation file. Also of note is that the program should be activated before June 7.

What's new in this version
Apply the unique level-3 hardware acceleration tech to process 4K HD video with faster speed and better image quality. Meantime it will fix high CPU usage and overheating.
Improve the HEVC(H.265) to H.264 quality by rebuilding de-interlacing system, especially effective for shaky footage shot by GoPro and drones like DJI Phantom 4 Pro.

    If there is a date check it's only within the program (no communication to an external server).

    So if you happen to re-install in the future and the key no longer works, I think changing computer date to before June 7 2018 will do the trick :)

  Excellent for a free program.

  Crashes if i drag more than a few hundred videos in.
  Estimated time only for current file, no overall batch estimate.

  Uses only around 20% cpu, couple hundred megs ram and 50% gpu. Are these artificially limited because it's the free version?
  When merging, I can't select specific videos in the list to merge - it merges them all? Does this mean I can't do multiple sets of merges in one go?

  Is it $20 AUD or USD to upgrade?

    Sorry for the delayed response. This giveaway version works the same as v5.12.1 and enables you to use full functions, such as the unique level-3 hardware acceleration tech. The only limitation of this giveaway is no free upgrade to future versions. As for your mentioned merge issues, could you please send us screenshots at [email protected]?     Just checked your mentioned toolkit,HD Video Converter Deluxe does not support converting DVD.
