    • +58

That’s your first of many shocks. Good times.

  • Stupid me misread

  • Probably illegal!

  • +9

It's all fun and games until fatal arrhythmia

    • if you're stealing pens you deserve it.
wouldnt be the first time to hear the pen is shocking

  • +1

It’s quite useful when you are trying to quit something. Every time craving hits, just click!

    • +23

But I'm trying to quit erotic electrostimulation :(

  • A vibrator disguised as a pen. Perfect for the next office Kris Kringle.

  • +4

I'm thinking one for Donald Trump for when he's signing those big signature presidential orders!

    • +5

You can actually buy the same pen he uses, they're worth $125.

      • -1

You both got downvoted by some weird Trumper. Have some upvotes, boys :)

  • Battery Button Battery, huh?

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • +2

    IT'S JUST A PRANK, BRO!

  • +1

Would there be issues of safety around these?
A quick google didn't reveal a strong case for or against.

My concern is that someone in the 0.00001% cops a shock and it has some effect on their pacemaker, epilepsy or heart conditions…

    • They don't produce an electric shock but rather a hard, repetitive vibration that causes most unsuspecting people to drop and break them. They have been on sale in Australia for years at magic shops for $20 each. They make sure you are holding it securely to try it out and tell you you'll have to pay for it if you drop it.

      • Nice try

    • +2

Thats why you have to cover yourself legally by declaring "it's just a prank".

    • +1

I don't think the Chinese manufacturers really would give a hoot about safety - it's all about making a buck and selling as many as possible and if someone has a heart attack and dies, not their problem - buyer beware.

For what its worth we still get items from Chinese medical product manufacturers (@ work) sent with cheap power plug adapters that do not even meet Australian standards (no pin insulation). Go figure.

      • heart attack is a possible side effect you reckon? should I get one for my mother in law?

        • A heart attack is caused from a blood clot or cholesterol buildup in bloodstream. Maybe a high voltage could cause valve failure heart attack, but even one button battery probably wouldn't cause that

Thanks ordered 20 to make sure.

  • Great way to break up with your girlfriend

    • Going off the previous comments of how it really works it might work better as a new discreet gift :P

    • +1

      WHERE did you put it?

  • +1

Brother loves to write so we gave one of these to him for Xmas about 10 years ago. I still remember him trying to use it for the first time. Threw it on the deck. He’s never forgiven us.

  • Does it write in Blue ink or Black?

    • Black AND blue…if you're doing it right.

  • +1

You’ll get a nice letter from customs saying it’s been seized rather than a package. Happened to someone I know before. Glhf

  • +4

This shit caused me to be paranoid of all pens for years, if someone used this on me now i would immediately unfriend them.

    • +1

Agreed. At least you haven't had people try to poke you with the shock mechanism. Especially on the face.

    • You sold me on one with this comment!

Stupid unsafe idea - hope they all get stopped at customs. Neg for product safety etc.

    • +5

Rest assured, I've heard customs are on red alert for pens.

How is this an unsafe idea? I guess static is a killer as well!

Instead of negging the deal why don't you learn a little bit about electricity or would that get on the way of your rant?

      • Qualified electrician and electrical engineer with experience in medical. I know what I'm talking about.

        • +5

…. with no experience in fun.

        • +1

Majored in electrical engineering with a minor in party pooper

      • Instead of talking shit, why dont you learn about electricity yourself.
This is just a very lite version of a taser. Cap charges up and discharges via a transformer at a higher voltage. Taser just uses a high voltage cap and directly discharges into a person.

Secondly, in very rare cases, shock will cause increased heart rate from the stress and adrenaline, which dilates the arteries and blood vessels, which creates a temporary drop in pressure, which creates a drop in oxygen to the brain and causes fainting.
Then you fall over and hit your head on a hard surface then die.

I still upvoted the deal because it's cheap and I'm okay with the risk it poses vs fun to be had, but you clearly don't know what's happening.

          I already do.

This is nothing like a Taser just like static electricity is not like a Taser and like lightening is not like a Taser.

Then you fall over and hit your head on a hard surface then die.

You better not tell jokes because the same could happen.

You demonstrated that you don't. All of them are electric shocks.

You also fail to explain how any of the electronics are fundamentally different, and that's because you know nothing about electricity or how the toy works. I'm certain you know nothing about how a taser works either so stop lying and go back to school.

Also, learn to spell. That wasn't even a typo because the 'e' on the keyboard isn't anywhere near the other keys.

That's the Australian way, all power is magic and can't be understood.

I didn't write that on a keyboard, great work there… have a go at the spelling because you have no idea how to argue the facts.

          @Maverick-au:

I just did argue the facts and look what you replied

That's the Australian way, all power is magic and can't be understood.

If you didn't write it on a keyboard, why not elaborate what you wrote it on? Yeah that's right. Because you used a keyboard.

I suppose yes you could say I used a keyboard if you mean on-screen keyboard but it wasn't used as you would a traditional keyboard. I'll let you figure that out.

    • Any vibrating device must be unsafe. Tazers must be unsafe. Defibrillators must be unsafe

Bad pun you make, bright spark you are not. :(
Watt did you think you were doing?
You should be charged by the pun police.
Lucky for me I'm so well grounded.
