  • I'd buy a Syma x5c and if you still love it, just skip straight ahead to a DJI drone if you're into video, if you want to get into racing build a proper carbon-fibre quad. But start with the Syma, they are built like tanks, and you won't waste hundreds of dollars

    This company is dishonest and dodgy asf
    It is same company as co-op bookshop.
    They scam customers selling products which they dont have, then you have to chase them up about it, and refuse to refund even for peoducts they sell you, but they dont have, and are not getting more of.
    Even girl on phone told me we fill about 90% of our orders so the other 10% or more, they take your money, for items they never had to sell in the first place, then you have to chase them up and hope eventually you get a refund.
    I just purchased parrot mambo from this same sale (paid couple of weeks back) . Listed as in stock for free delivery or pickup in store. Site stated in stock at my local store,I elected to collect.
    Called store a week later; to check my order was ready, told by store they have no order for me, no drone was set aside, and told the 1 that they did have, was not set aside for me, but was out on floor for purchase. The store got angry at me, for asking for my item, they acted like I was trying to take something from them for free (even though I told them I already have paid in full, gave them details of paypal receipt order number etc; store still refused to give me my item i already paid for. And I was annoyed that they hadn't set 1 aside, given that the order was made online and stated they had in stock at the store, it should have been put aside as sold as soon as it was purchased by customer online.
    Anyway, I rang head office, had to atgue with them for half hour. Then they tell me that the 1 now left in that store, and the only 1 they would be willing to give me, was the display model not the new item I had paid for. Then the girl at head office, said she had comfirmed with the store and she assured me "item has not been opened at all, the only thing 'display' about it, was that it has display written on the box" , so I said OK, I would prefer what I paid for, but if that is my only option, and as long as it is sealed and unopened, then I will accept that item.
    Anyway, a few days later, I drove 45 minutes to the local store to pickup, then they tell me they dont have it , the item I was promised was opened, handled, sitting in cabinet (probably picked up and handled, maybe even tested, who knows) and the girl got the manager in, and he was very rude, and basically said "TAKE IT OR HAVE NOTHING" , I replied I just want what I paid for, and I just drove all this way to pick it up, for nothing . The manager couldn't care less, he made up ridiculous lies and excuses for why they lied to me, and why they did not deliver the product I paid for. He said "its pretty much new" and insisted I take it, at no discount for being a display model and opened and handled etc, even though the sales girl told me that display models should be discounted for being a somewhat used product. Manager flatly refused, and couldn't care less about wasting almost 2 hours of my time, and the fuel driving 45 minutes each way… He said "its not THAT far" . Absolutely disgusting mannerd and horrible customer service from the store manager. He assured me the product which was "pretty much new" was still in perfect condition, and he refused to offer any discount for giving me a used model, eveb though I paid for a brand new unopened product.
    Apparently they do this all the time, sell items and take payment for items which they dont have, and wont be getting in. As the manager had a ready made excuse for it all. He tried to say "we are working on it trying to fix our problem of selling items we do not have" , but I explained to him how the same thing had happened about a year ago. Every other store sells items they have, then when they are sold, it shows on website as sold out and they dont keep stealing peoples money for items which dont exist.
    Anyway, I would not have bought the display model that had been out and handled etc, and would not have driven 1.5 hours for collection of a used/opened product without disount for it being used/opened/handled, but since I was already there, I begrudgingly accepted the product because he refused to honour the purchase I made and arrange for me a brand new product.
    Took the drone out today, it flipped and crashed repeatedly on takeoff, staff had tampered with the drone, it had 1 propeller missing, and in its place, the wrong propeller there, causing it to flip and crash, now grass stains on all the white parts .
    Rang head office again, they promised they would get back to me , never did. I asked them what their policy was and what they would do for such a situation, they refused to tell me, even when I asked to check witj a supervisor. Apparently it was completely up to whatever the rude store manager decided, and he would have told me to drive another 1.5 hours and spend my time and fuel money, then ge would most likely say 'well have nothing', then I would probably never receive refund, as payment was online. And since manager was refusing to arrange the new drone I paid for, even after wasting my time having to drive all that way only to find they had lied and box was opened, drone was handled, drone was probably flown, and propeller broken and replaced with wrong 1, causing it to now flip . Im pretty sure that same manager would just tell me to get lost and keep the drone, and possibly refund some time in ther future.
    With such dishonest staff, and disgustingly rude and deceitful store manager, I felt I had no choice but yo open paypal dispute. Head office didn't call me as they promised, and no way I am driving back there and hoping that the store manager decides to do the right thing after all that he has done dishonestly so far.
    Opened PayPal dispute, which is what I had to do with co-op bookshop order where they tried to rip me off about 1 year ago.
    If anybody else is having issues with this dodgy asf company selling good and taking full payment, when they dont have the items to sell; i suggest open paypal dispute, Im surs they have such a bad name that paypal will instantly side against them .
    And they need to be reported to fair trading also. Like WTF sort of dishonest dodgy company takes a pile of money for goods, then only honour up to 90% of the orders they take payment for :/ . And the girl on phone said 90% , so I suspect the actual amount of money they take for goods they dont have to sell, is ACTUALLY MUCH MORE THAN 10% . They might sell 100 drones, when they only have 10 to sell. Scamming customers who then have to chase up the money owed in refunds, or accept a dodgy second hand /display product with parts missing and changed over .
