The problem with amaysim is that you get the last bill discount (currently 40% in NSW) adjusted on your next bill, which means if you were to switch to a different provider you would miss out on a discount

This was confirmed by a rep when he called me back to complete my application I was half way through and didn't submit last Month

    From the website

With us, when you pay on time you get a generous discount on your next bill.

    • handy info! thanks

    • Does it work this way? Cos the 1st bill is supposed to be your "next bill"?

      • The rep confirmed that to me so I told them to delete my application

The problem with amaysim is when you ask them a very direct question via chat and phone about their tarrifs and prices they are only able to sprout the same shit that is on their website and do not answer the question, the answer to which is NOT on their website.

whatever. mod delete this please if people are just going to complain

I think you're being a bit sensitive. They're putting forward valuable information.

This could still be a valid deal. Imagine you have quite a low power bill, you might miss out on a discount in the first month but that may be made up for by the free gift.

        I'm not being sensitive… lmao.
If people just want to complain about something rather than considering the people it benefits thats up to them. They can miss out on the deal.

Code works for me. Thanks. I compared rates, and they are on par with Tango (Vic), so am going to change to get the $100 + $100 credit.

Note the promotional period: 12.00am (Sydney time) on 18 May 2018 to 11.59pm (Sydney time) on 24 May 2018.

    • Yeah they offer lower rates than the plan Im in now so I switched.
      Better overall for me.

Just be mindful that the discount is applied on the following bill unlike other providers who give you the discount on the same bill

        • -2

I live on my own so the discount doesn't actually save me a whole lot.
I also get the benefits of no swap/activation fee, monthly contract and no cancellation fee.

        • @easternculture:
Negatory. In the "terms and conditions" that the recorded voice read out to me, they clarified that there is none.

        • I signed up to a similar offering ($125) 2 months ago. My first bill wasn't a reading, based on zero usage. They have a minimum charge of $130 (including the pay on time discount), and $125 of this was the promo credit, and I paid the $5. Apparently they do this every month, so when your bill comes quarterly there is no bill shock or whatever they call it. So supposedly I have $130 of credit sitting in my account, next month I guess I will need to pay the $130, minus the pay on time discount, and the month after I will get my bill and all the 'built up credit" will go towards that. So I guess pro - You get $100 off your first cycle. Con, you wont get a Pay on time discount on the last one. But.. if you finish in credit, and they need to reimburse you, your pay on time discount should be there.

Or, I guess make your last bill right after the last quarterly cycle, ie change over the next day to another provider so the last bill is minimal?

For me, I'm hardly ever home and they have the lowest daily supply charge with a high usage charge. So for me it's perfect, using hardly anything, but need to keep connected to the grid.

I was previously with DODO who had the best balance of both for regular usage in my area. They also gave me a $35 initial credit just by asking for one when I called. Just ask.

  • I got the email as well but in the terms and conditions it mentions to be eligible for the bill credit you must use the same email address that the email was sent to. The other 2 offers with the Samsung devices look like they are available to any existing amaysim customer.

  • How long does it take to get the gift? Wondering when to move on

  • Compared the rates for QLD - they are close to the most expensive standing offer I've ever seen in the Energex area. Even with 20% discount (less than AGL's current offer) and 14c Solar FIT (less than Origin's current offer) they're not even slightly competitive. May be better in other states though - I'd hope so or they aren't going to be getting many customers!

  • Another promotion they will refuse to honor just like the beats
