  • Holy crap that's cheap!

    Best vodka in existance guys.

    • +1

      Try Beluga Nobel ;)

karavan is not bad for the prices (for mixes and late evening shots when you dont care as much)

      • I will try it one day. Thanks for the recommendation.

      • Beluga is pretty good! Currently on special at Dan’s for $60.

Went to a tasting the other month and tried four from the Beluga range: Nobel, Transatlantic, Allure and Gold Line.

Opening the Gold Line bottle was quite theatrical, as it has a wax seal, and comes with a small hammer and brush to crack it. Magnificent vodka, but at $165 per bottle, not exactly an everyday tipple. Good price for the Goose, but hopefully another eBay 20% off at FirstChoice isn’t too far away. Can then stock up on Belvedere!

      Best vodka in existance guys.

Try some others, it's not even close.

      • +2

Nope. Vodka is the only spirit I drink, and I've tried every popular brand in Dan Murphy's.

        My Rankings:

        1 Grey Goose

        2 Russian Standard

        3 Absolut

of course they're all different price tiers, so it's your choice.

        • +1

Well 3 is absolute rubbish, and 2 is baseline average, so yeah I guess Grey goose is slightly better.

        • @Shwayne: Not my experience. I prefer #2 for it's price per quality.

Economist Thomas J. Stanley discusses Grey Goose in his book Stop Acting Rich (2009).[6] Based on extensive research and surveys, Stanley describes Grey Goose as a favorite beverage of Americans he terms "aspirationals" "(i.e., "those who wish to act rich",[7] regardless of actual income or wealth, and thus spend large amounts of income on status items). Grey Goose costs up to four or five times more than most competing vodka brands and did not reach the top 10 in a 2005 taste test of vodka brands published in The New York Times,[8] yet has still seen "explosive sales growth"[9] in a few short years due in large part to it being perceived as a drink of the economic elite — even more so than items like Rolex wristwatches or Mercedes Benz automobiles.

That [8] article puts Smirnoff at the top. Sounds dodge to me.

    • I read a similar thing in the Canadian press some time ago. Turns out that most Canadians thought Grey Goose was made there…
Each to their own, and no criticism of those who like it, but GG was largely created as a premium brand without a lot other than image to back it up. Was sold a few years back to Bacardi, which now also owns Bombay Sapphire, which was created around a similar model, except in the UK.
Best value vodka IMO is Lua Moi from Vietnam. Hard to get here but every time I come back from HCMC, I bring as much as I can get through Customs.

    • And Toyota is more popular than Mercedes Benz. You can spin words and facts many ways, the bottom line is that different people like different things.

    • Yeah but here's your chance to get a Rolex for $47

  • +1

Yeah. I tried it once. Its nice but not nice enough to warrant the usual price.

Good price for this deal though.

I prefer Clean&Smooth made in Australia at LiquorLand.

  • I'm trying to blunt my limited power of fine discrimination to total lack of fine discrimination by buying the cheapest vodka I can find.

  • +3

OMG everyone quickly post your smug opinion on what is actually much better than grey goose

    • +3

      I only drink premium unleaded
