  • If I buy the game now and expansion pack later how much is it? Good deal though.

      Just get the complete edition

    • $19.45 on sale at the moment, $29.95 normally.

I've got HZD and, while it is a fantastic game, it's also more than enough by itself. I loved it, but by the time I finished it I'd had enough, really didn't feel any need to buy the DLC.

So I'd suggest just go with the base game and if you actually feel like you need more of it after that then pick up the DLC later when it's on sale.

      • Agreed, I had the DLC but got bored of it halfway UH mode

Already have the base game on disk but it's such a good game I might support them and just get the digital complete edition. Huge convenience of not having to swap discs (I skip around different games very often).

    • I was thinking of doing this. But doesn’t the PS4 treat the downloaded game as a new game and the original save file doesn’t transfer between the two? I’d be happy with a new play though but would prefer NG+

      • Nah the application will run as normal unless you delete the save data

      • I bought the digital complete as well, months after completing the base game. Both installs show up, but the saves carried over, So all good.

  • Is the DLC worth it at $19.45?

    • +4

I'd say so - it's easily 15 hours if you hurtle through the main storyline and longer with the sidequests, plus you get some decent gear to take into an NG+ run as well.

  • Well shit… just bought the DLC last night @ $30

I'm always baffled when people complain about this as there's always sales on PSN.. just need to wait for one

This is my first game that has my platinum trophy. Such an epic storyline and gameplay. The DLC is awesome too.

      Best game of all time?

      • +1

one of the best. I'm working on my 2nd platinum trophy for GOW PS4.

      • +1

Definitely up there as one of the best in terms of gorgeous 4k HDR graphics, story and gameplay.

        • +2

Yup agreed. and it's so hard to get over it after you finished the game. You just want to keep trying different kind of weapons/methods to defeat specific monster.

  • I really want to play the dlc, but my PS4 wiped my game just after I finished it the first time, and as great as the game is, I'm not up for going through the whole thing again just to reach the DLC area.

(and yes I know you can access the DLC area more or less straight away, but apparently you'll get your arse handed to you if you're under about level 30)

    Still, $20…

    • +1

Remember that if you have PS Plus, your saved games should be online.

      • No PS Plus unfortunately. But hey it could have been worse - could have wiped it just before I finished, not just after!

  • Does this mean we'll see it in stores cheap now/soon?

    (I have terrible internet)

  • +1

so tempted to buy but i want the physical version :(

EDIT: gamesmen have it on sale too :) $39 for complete edition https://www.gamesmen.com.au/horizon-zero-dawn-complete-editi…

29.99 for the version without the expansion

  • just curious to know, do you think overall this game is better or than metal gear solid phantom pain? :)

    • +6

Much, much better…. Pick it up.

      • Better than mgs3?

  • Honestly… probably the best game I've every played of this type.

Will definitely buy the expansion now.

  • I'll say one thing about this game is that it's hard, especially on higher difficulties. It's a similar breed of game as assasins creed origins, but because it's a challenge is less boring than that game. But it is repetitive. My biggest criticisms of the game is the terrible cut scene animation, the clunky climbing mechanics and the save game system. Also on PS4 pro set to performance mode it's still lag ridden in fast paced fight sequences. I swear they have tried to compensate by zooming in the camera when the frame rate struggles but the result is lag and no peripheral vision. It's the most frustrating thing about this game.

Anyway at $25 it's a no brained if you haven't played it. Are they making a second game?

  • i really liked this game, however due to the incredibly low fov (field of view) i get a headache within 30 minutes of playing. this zoomed in view made it frustrating to play as you essentially see a small piece of what is directly ahead of you, like living life looking through binoculars. a simple doorway couldnt even fit on the screen thats how zoomed in it was, all for the sake of having better graphics.

I wish they brought this out for PC. It looks like such an awesome game.

  • Am I the only person who was kind of underwhelmed by this game? Melee combat is useless, voice acting was terrible and the dialogue equally so. TBH, I think Breath of the Wild kind of ruined this game for me.

  • yeah great game! enjoy playing it with 40hrs playing hrs now on base game. a bit repeatable after some ten hours but worth any money you spend on! highly recommend this game!

  • Will wait when complete edition is $19.

  • I don't own a PS4. But am tempted to buy a PS4 just to play this game.

    Worth it?

    • Yes. Just borrow a mates PS4 who I'm sure you have who isn't using it any longer. Lock yourself at home for a week and you'll be wanting a bow and arrow once you're done :)
