Best 8 Inch Tablet

Hi All,

I'm in the market for a new 8 inch tablet. I've previously had a Sony Xperia S2 compact (which had an untimely death), and a Lenovo Yoga tab 8 which has become so slow as to be too frustrating to ever consider using.

The Xperia S2 is still on sale even though it's now a few years old, and the Samsung Tab S2 Compact is another option albeit hovering over $450. I see Xiaomi getting plenty of comments and deals on here, so was wondering if anyone could recommend any other options that would provide the best bang for the buck. I'm not hugely concerned re budget so long as it's quick.

Also, iOS is out…..

Any tips?

    I'll cover off best low end- Lenovo P8 is best. It has an annoying 'too many app autostart' error, is on Android 6.0, and seems to have too much friction when scrolling. But for the price, its great. Its powerful, great screen, and lightweight.

    Am interested to hear of more premium options.

    Assuming it actually has just "become" slow rather than always being slow, Factory Reset the Yoga for a fresh out of the box experience.
    You're going to have to set everything up on a new tablet anyway, this way you are just saving yourself a few hundred dollarydoos.

    Android Tablets are pretty much dead..
    ChromeOS Tablets are the future.

        Google is trying to push manufacturers into ChromeOS tablets instead of Android.

    What will you be using it for primarily?

      As much as possible. Web, email, tv remote (via app and wifi), watch streaming tv, manage ubiquiti network and cameras, social media, maybe even watching movies on a plane. Not much I wouldn't be doing on it.
