Common questions and answers:

  1. Is it a ZigBee Smart Powerpoint?
    A: Yes, it is.

  2. Does this powerpoint work with Google Home or Amazon Alexa?
A: Yes, you can use Google Home and Amazon Alexa to control the smart powerpoints.

  3. Are any other products required for using this powerpoint
A: Yes, like any ZigBee device, you need a ZigBee bridge (Nue ZigBee Bridge, Philips Hue Bridge or Amazon Echo Plus) for you to use APP or voice control to control this smart powerpoint.

In addition, you can manually use it like any other normal powerpoint without a ZigBee Bridge.

  1. What APPs can I use for controlling this smart ZigBee powerpoint?
A: It depends on what ZigBee Bridge you are using.
    • Nue ZigBee Bridge: Hui Home and Amazon Alexa
    • Philips Hue Bridge V2: Philips Hue APP and Amazon Alexa
    • Amazon Echo Plus: Amazon Alexa

Note: As the Philips Hue APP and Amazon Alexa do not have the powerpoint devices so far, the smart powerpoint will be shown as light switch when you add the device in, then you can re-name them to Power Switch.

I'm not the Rep but this is on the page:

      • Thanks for that.

    • Zwave…. ZigBee.

  • What do people do with these in terms of the smart features?

    • Turn on and off plugged in appliances via phone or google home/alexa/home assistant etc Without a bulky plug like the TP-Link, so looks nicer on kitchen benches etc

I have a couple of the 2-gang and 3-gang wall switches, which are a direct replacement for my standard light switches. You can use them entirely manually, where they're just a nice, classy-looking switch with illuminated touch switches. Or you can connect them to WiFi and have control of them via app or voice assistant as well.

      Which ones?

  • Do these protrude from the wall or mount flush?

    • Wouldn't be any more then classic points

  • Does it measure power usage?

    • Not this version. Hopefully next one they said will have energy monitor

  • Looking at the instructions, you need to have a Neutral line? I think I am ok (will need to check), but alot of old homes will not have this.

For the wall light switch version, does it have to be "smart light bulbs" or does it also work with "dumb lights".

Anyone also know if you turn the lights off at the switch/button; does it reset to Philips Hue light to default, or keep last scene/colour?

    • The light switch is the smarts

  • Have anyone tried to connect these or other Zigbee products to the XiaoMi Gateway? Besides the suggested products from XiaoMi of coz.

    • Better of connecting to hue bridge, or nue bridge or amazon echo plus, or smartthings
