Seriously, these are pretty damn great value right here, but there's still something about the Xbox One which won't let me buy it - it's like the Wii U aura. I'd probably jump at the XBX for this price though lol.

    • Lack of exclusives is the issue. I probably turned mine on 3 times last year and that was just for the sake of updates.

Definitely a good deal for anyone that doesn't have a current gen console.

      • +1

I think of it as a 4k blu-ray player with a good controller I can also use on my PC, plus a bonus gaming feature I will hardly use.

        • Well, you could just buy the controller on its own. Also, most of the Xbox console-exclusive games are available on PC as well, so you could use the controller on your PC to play exactly the same games you would on your Xbox…

    • every body would jump at an xbox at thT price …. so they priced based on what people are willing to,pay based on how many they can make and ship.

  • -1

just here waiting until sony starts doing this with the ps4

    • Estarás esperando un tiempo…

    • Why would Sony do a deal like this?

  • +5

Can you even fit all the games on that 500GB? Would it kill Microsoft to start offering the console with an amount of storage that made sense for 2018? Do we really have to keep buying and hanging portable drives off our consoles?

    • Why did Nintendo release a 8GB Wii U?

      • +22

To get to the other side.

      • +4

Same reason they have a 32GB Switch -most of the games don’t require an install like PS4 / Xbox….. they run off the Cartridge (disc for WiiU)… makes perfect sense.. more space is always better but no where near as critical as it is on the PS4 / Xbox

      • +2

And how well did the WiiU do?

        • +8

It got to the other side

    • Can easily fit these. Honestly most games are well under 60GB installed.

      • +1

So if each were 60 (and they aren't) it'd be 360GB. And how much for the OS? There goes your drive.

You can probably fit a handful more games on so long as they aren't AAA titles. Which is pathetic.

        • +4

Well (profanity) me, looks like average install sizes have gone up since I got my One S.

          From option 1:
          NBA2K17 - 50.61 GB
          Forza 6 - 48.55 GB
          Quantum Break - 102.58 GB
          Forza Horizon 3 - 60 GB
          Dead Rising 4 - 60.71 GB
ReCore (as selected option)- 13.66 GB

          Total - 336.11GB

Looks like your average 500GB console leaves 365GB after OS:
          https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/amp.reddit.com/r/xboxone/com…

So very roughly, you'd be left with 29GB for any future patches, DLC… That's going to disappear very quickly.

Don't get me wrong, this is still a very good deal.

Personally I've got a 2TB USB drive because I want to keep all of my 100+ games installed and I think this is the way to go for anyone more than casual.

        • @ashanrath: clock setting is probably like 80GB

        • @ashanrath: Quantum break is only that size if you download all the episodes in all the languages (which you have to if you decide to download them) you can just stream them.

      • +1

Not Gears of War 4.. It was about 110+ gig or so.

        • So you're saying most games are under 60gb?

        • Agree. Installing GOW4 will consume 120gb thats around 1/4 - 25% of a 500gb hdd. good luck with that. Especially if you already have the PC version then its a full digital download.

        • @g12345567:

Forza Motosport 7 is also about 110gig.

      • Don't know about the others but just checked and Forza Horizon 3 is 46.3GB loaded.

My crude calculations based on my pretty empty console and the available space remaining is that the OS is 220.7GB including the add on Blu Ray player.

    • a lot of the supply contracts are made over long periods …. so they are probably contracted for a certain number of 500gb units and to alter contracts is a pain from legal , etc ….. easier for them to support external drives and consumers can buy based on best deal of the day.

  • +3

Why no X bundles? They should be promoting the X.

    • Wait until e3. $499 RRP

    • US summer holidays are coming up so they can sell what they have for that period of demand ….next will be christmas and by then they will be larger supply and discounting.

  • Good value, pretty ordinary offering of games.

Especially if you compare to similar deals they had with the 360 during its life span.

Hurry up and get some great exclusives ya bums

    • "Introducing: Halo 17 - The Return of the Return of Master Chief's Great Grandson!"

    • eb have froza 6 at $17 for their current sale …..not sure what resale value the discs are for the other games but assume $90 on a good day to trade-in on a title you actually want.

  • +1

Anyone buying this looking to sell NBA 2k18 I'm interested if the price is right :)

  • +1

Surprised there hasn't been a "no deal, cost me $3 via click frenzy" comment yet.

    Good price though.

  • +3

I got the $299 consilve deal with 4 games a few months ago but this is even better. Get on it while it lasts I say!

  • +3

Is it worthwhile getting one of these as a 4k Bluray player? Kind of like how the PS3 was the best, cheapest Bluray player when it came out?

    • +3

Yes, 4k Netflix too. Just make sure your HDMI cable and TV port is 4k compatible as well.

    • +1

Going forward, you’d want support for HDR10+ (and, optionally, Dolby Vision). S nor X do.

      • S nor X do.

Yeah neither one supports HDR10+ or Dolby Vision, but they can do HDR10 and have announced a patch to fix RGB (and add freesync support).

    • best, cheapest Bluray player when it came out?

Original PS3 didn’t support original audio format bitstreaming - subsequently, Slim did.

  • For how much could I sell Dead Rising 4? Not interested in that game but everything else looks ok

    • -3

      User name checks out.

It came out a year and a half ago so probably $15-20

    • I'd throw you a 20 plus shipping for it if you were down.

EB have new copies for 34 so tbh there's not a fortune to be made off it.

  • +2

    Don’t forget Cashrewards 5% cash back. :)

  • +1

Thank you ordered myself one of these this morning from this. Had been checking prices last few days and was happy to see this. Expensive morning for me :D

  • Hope by end of this year Xmas sale, these bundle will drop to $199!

  • +1

I've been waiting for a ps4 for the exclusives but their prices aren't dropping. It might just be worth getting one of these for the controller and 4k, then I'll be ready for RDR2 when it comes out.

    • If you just want the controller and 4K UHD blu-ray player, then you are better off waiting for deals with less number of games. You are paying around $100 for those games. 7 games for $100 might be a good deal for some people, but some of those games are a bit old.

  • Is the 4k Ultra HD movie disc playback reasonable?
can it playback in HDR mode?

    • +3

      Yes and yes.

  • That's a pretty decent price and the games aren't to bad either. + from me.

  • anyone keen to sell assasins creed origins am happy to buy download code off them through paypal for the right price. PM me

  • Pretty good price, even if you don't play the games you can sell them on ebay or gumtree and use the xbox as a media server and 4k bluray player.

  • Sweet deal, now where do we get Ozb cheap live subscriptions?

    • Watch out with Gamesdeal. They've been posted on here a bit lately and they screwed me and a fair few others with their subs. I got mine in the end but it was a massive hassle and I won't be dealing with them again to save a couple bucks.

  • Why is this marked as expired the assassin's creed bundle is still available ?
