Spotted this in the eBay 20% Prototype listings, not a bad price for this very popular phone. You all know the specs on this one.
No band 28 or NFC.

I agree. A1 ? What if this, a phone for ants?
Cheaper to just buy from DWI @ $242 or Shopmonk @ $244
I paid $216 from Catch with 20% off GC ($266 = 5x$50 + $16) + free shipping, but no SD card.
$208 Aliexpress, DHL shipping, free tpu case and glass screen, no SD :)
Link? I suppose it's not for 32GB one.

Price has gone up since, but no reason why they shouldn't return to similar every now and then.
Apologies - didn't read that OP's deal has a micro SD card ;)
16gb SD is only just better than nothing these days, maybe a 64gb may make a small difference
True, but at least this deal from OP is for the 64GB phone, not the 32GB. So all up getting around 70GB+- free to use.
Not sure if this is the right spot to ask this, but I just got this phone today and It's not getting any data when I'm off from wifi. I'm with Virgin mobile, and even walking through Perth City I wasn't getting enough speeds to google anything or browse ozbargain. The 4G logo was lighting up at the top of the phone, and I was able to call up a mate really easily, just no internet connection
Is this abnormal for the phone? Should i be switching providers to something other than Virgin?
I read something about Band 28 but i don't fully get what it entails
Cheers
Mobile data turned on under settings/data usage?

4G (and 3G) use various frequencies, also known as bands. Band 28 runs at 700 MHz, which the A1 doesn't have. Some of the 4G bands available on the A1 which will utilise Virgin's (Optus) network are 1 (2100 MHz), 3 (1800), 7 (2600) and 40 (2300).
If you want to learn about what towers and frequencies are operating in your area, go to https://oztowers.com.au/
inner city perth won’t be band 28, it might be that you have mobile data turned off in the phone settings …..check the sim settings and permissions for mobile data and the slot being used with your sim, it’s a dual sim phone.
family member dropped theirs, not even one month old and cracked screen.
so need to order new screen from china for $45 and wait the usual 12-30 business days, or australia for $65 and phone repair places don’t keep xiaomi screens but are happy to fit if i supply and pay for labour…might be first one then ever did ?
a place in sydney quoted $145 screen and install .and need overnight …probabaly because they also need to get screen delivered… you’d almost consider a new phone and sell old one on ebay so someone in china can fix it cheap.
this is where warranties and service centres come in handy so you get genuine xiaomi ips screen ( just says oem lcd) and not the work experience kid fitting it.
my zte came with broken screen coverage for 2 years in warranty.
How do Xiaomi phones go with warranties in Australia?
I've bought 2 US made phones (LG G4 and Samsung S7 edge) and Samsung/LG would not touch them under warranty in Australia "We don't have parts".
need mi max 3…..
