My free deezer premium subscription runs out just after the last day for activation.

Thanks OP but I think 3 months free trails was always there for new users without groupon too..? I may be wrong..

  • It’s definitely free for new users without any of the groupon stuff.

  • what about if you have already had iTunes free - does this work?

    • Keen to know also. Got my telstra freebie running out and wanna know if it will stack

    • new members only, you can sign up using a new email address.

  • Got 6 months free from Telstra and don't even use it. I had account issues (couldn't register using my regular email) because apparently my email was in use as a recovery account. I have not made an account with Apple before having never purchased their products…Anyway, after using another email address and finally getting in I found Apple Music to be pretty underwhelming.

Using a free trial of Spotify and find it's way better. Will probably keep the Spotify subscription.

But hey, free is free, right? Creates a new account

I use Apple Music on iPad myself. Was free for 3 months before subscribing. No problems, and wouldn't say it was underwhelming at all. Happy to pay the small subscription fee now.

My (hearing impaired) senior mother was impressed with music I downloaded for her on the iPad also and played back on a Sony XB40 extra bass Bluetooth speaker. As she only listens to music at home (so not necessary to download music) I bought her a cheap Lenovo tablet, downloaded Spotify app and bought her the very same Sony bluetooth speaker. She listens to her music for free from Spotify. Streaming only and a short ad every half hour. Can subscribe and download also of course, but she is happy with this free arrangement.

Have noticed that Apple and Spotify don't necessarily have identical albums and songs, so by using both apps on the different tablets I can provide her with all her favourites that are available.

I prefer Apple but I have no criticisms of Spotify either.

    Another bargain for apple music

    1. switch your account region to China,
    2. apple music subscription is ¥10.00 RMB per month which is about AU$2.09

    drawbacks:
    1. in top charts/genres…there are many mandarin songs.
    2. you would change app store location to China as well which makes some app unavailable for purchase.
    3. iCloud data could be saved on servers in China, which may possibly bring some privacy concerns.

Hmmm…. those are pretty big drawbacks IMO! But each to their own.

    • Cheers. Will try this out

The same deal is also running for Samsung users for Google Play Music. 3 Months Free. If you sign up to Google Play music it also includes a subscription to Youtube Red. If you haven't watched Cobra Kai yet, you're missing out.

    • +1

Worth looking onto this too; thanks.

      • +1

Make sure you do it through the Google Play Music app as it has to detect you're using a Samsung. Doing through a PC only gives you 1 month free.

I have Youtube Red and the only thing I use from it is Ad-Free videos.
Have tried shows like Lifeline, but they are not to the mark. Will certainly try Cobra Kai.
One great thing is its integration with Google Home, I can play almost any song :)

However, Wish they had a student membership like Apple and Spotify have. So now I'm going to cancel Red and Try out the Free Apple Music for some time. Also have 6 months Apple Music from Telstra. Lets see how that works out.

  • Wonder this will stack with the telstra 6 months free trial?

    • Only if you use this first, then enter the Telstra code. Won’t eork the other way around.

      • Only applies to Telstra postpaid, correct? No offer for prepaid?

  • +1

I believe you can also pay for an annual individual subscription for $99 - if you use the upcoming Coles 20% off iTunes card, that gives you 12 months for around $6.66 per month…..

  • can one cancel after few days and keep the subscription active for remainder of the trial period.

    • +2

you can cancel as soon as you sign up :) and still enjoy free 3 months

      • thanks for the info mate.

  • It's a good deal (just like the Deezer 3 months free Premium), but my hatred of all things Apple prevents me from upvoting. I don't want to sell my soul to this manipulative corporation; I don't want "to be cool".

The strange things is, free indie or old computer games on ozBargain get at least twice as many upvotes as free music.

  • Not letting me sign up for free. Then again I used the free three months subscription when I started using my new iPhone so thats why. Could not find the option to sign up with new email.
