It is an ideal household decoration for ensuring you the most desirable ambient temperature and humidity.

Absolute bargain if you could control the weather for under $7.

    • -1

Yeah, although it's based on air-con switch… but temperature and humidity is not weather LoL

      • +3

        umm yes they are

      • +3

        What is the weather then?

    • Yes but looks pretty small and cheap quality. Nice gadget though

  • Excellent price.

  • Anyone ever bought from this store? Is this the same as zapals.com?

    • +2

Yep it's Zapals. They've launched a new website focusing on Fashion and Home & Garden.

      • -1

Really, I'm not sure about that looks more like they're trying to find out our passwords. Can you prove this?

  • Cool!

  • +4

Some great out of proportion images on that page.

I’m having trouble checking out with PayPal. Anyone else has such problems? PayPal logs in then immediately logs out.

    • Tried different browser or incognito? Usually fixes it for me when PP does that.

      • +1

I think it is PayPal that is playing up. New session logging in to PayPal does the same thing both on iPad and chromebook

        • +1

PayPal support is closed now. Ah. Can't checkout till tomorrow.

        • @ozmu: Paypal working again now.

    • I had this exact problem when trying to pay for my Menulog order with PayPal a few hours ago. I gave up after trying it 10 times.

  • Cool got one :D

  • Tried chromebook and iPad with same outcome.

    • Logged into your Zapalstyle account and only ordering 1?

      • Yep new account created just now. Never had one.

Ok so I guess this deal isn't for you.

    • +1

You can see the temperature and humidity with your eyes?

  • +1

    is this a good product?

    • +2

Absolute rubbish. Purchased one recently. Comes on for 3 secs when press snooze the goes off ..repeat ad infinitum, currently in dispute through PayPal. Any else get a dud? Thanks

  • +2

I wonder how it knows the weather ?

    • Barometric pressure sensor

      • Unlikely. If it measured pressure - I'm sure they would promote that.

Have a cheap weather forecasting clock - goes by trends in temp & humidity - boolean logic as it spins it.

    • Have you seen a barometer before?

  • +3

I hope you guys realise the real thing isn't going to look like that bright and colorful.

    • I just assumed it would look like the photos. Do you own one?

      • +1

Ive owned similar ones and the backlight has always been a disappointment. It's not even a real pic. Also the dimensions relative to its surroundings is oit of whack.

    • True, this is from Ali express.

      Note:
The LCD display screen will light up only on the condition of pressing the backlight button, and then you can see time, temp and weather clearly. Please note this feature before your order.

      https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/m.aliexpress.com/item/328486…

I wouldn't care if it was USB powered like my other one which does 4 zones and also tells me what the weather is doing outside. Might be able to open it up and hard wired the backlight on to USB power though.

      • Do you have a link to the one you have?

The thing is it comes with a US power supply and outputs far too high a voltage when plugged into 240v. Fortunately it runs on 5v so I just cut the wires and soldered on a USB plug.

And the outdoor sensor display is in Fahrenheit. I bought one on eBay in Australia and left a bad review for the is charger but kept it as I was so impressed with it.

My question I would find out before purchasing is can you see the LCD without the backlight on as a lot of them you can't.

If this is the case, this means that you have to press the snooze button first to read the display then the backlight goes off after 7 seconds..

  • Thx op bought one

  • Wow just looked carefully at the images and the "UP" label has a down arrow on it. That's not confusing at all!!!!!

    • And it measures Hhumidity

  • How long will this last on 2 AAA's?

  • -1

Could not buy as it won't take other forms of money except PayPal

    • PayPal is free to join.

  • "It can monitor the temperature and humidity in real time and forecast the weather, convenient for your travel arrangement" Cool it can predict weather for travelling.

  • .Edited as didn't read OP properly

    • Logged in? One in cart?

How does this get the weather forecast?

    • +2

      From sandra sully

      • I prefer Mr Bailey's weather report.

    • -1

      A barometer.

    • +2

if it gets an ache in it's right knee then it is about to rain

  • anyone ordered this and the package has been dispatched?
seems very slow that it takes more than a week just to dispatch?

    • Mine was dispatched on 18/5 - still waiting.

  • Battery 2 x AAA batteries(not included)

Would be nice if it had a charge or power by usb our micro usb function.. especially with the abundance of this cable and charger now.

  • Probably expired, code not working and looks like shipping being charged.

I just received it and it is CRAP !
You need to press the SNZ button to keep the light on for only 5 SECONDS otherwise you can not see the info on the the palm size tiny thing. And the view angle is terrible. Only can view from Top angle not the sides or the directly front. I requested a full refund already.

    • Comment (after I ordered) about short display time.

      Yet to receive mine.
Didn't know about poor screen viewing angles!

Zapals (sister site) has ignored my many complaints over months for other misrepresented or failed products & ignored requests to replace or refund.

Time for PayPal dispute & boycott!

  • Bad reports on this device in next weather clock deal😠
    REVOKED UPVOTE.

  • Received 30 minutes ago (yet to read manual)…

    Review:
Can't read display unless press SNZ button
Press SNZ - stays on only 4 seconds
Hold down SNZ gives 8 seconds backlight.
That makes set up difficult as display keeps turning off while setting time.

Display is best viewed looking down from top of unit. So straight up or inclined on fold out stand is best for desk use (see deal thumbnail).

Buttons are crap - does not register every press. Buzzer sounds with button press - annoying at night.

Alarm is loud & quickly becomes annoying from next room. Turns off in under a minute. Snooze silences alarm for 8 minutes.

Temp & humidity are almost identical to that shown on Oregon Scientific weather unit beside it. May just be by luck, so will keep observing it.
Toggle between C & F by pressing DOWN button.

Weather patterns (forecast) will take time to start working.
Temperature trends are shown hourly for last 6 hours in bar graph.

Also displays Comfort (based on temp & humidity), & day of week.

Basic 5 minute modifications, after removing back (still prototyping)
To convert display to permanent on - added bright LED along bottom edge of display, directing light through display edge toward top edge. Gives bright display, which could be modified to be dimmed or turned off.

Connected clock & LED to USB power with suitable voltage drop. Ran USB cable out back of unit. May modify & add simple charger circuit to power from rechargeable AAAs kept in unit.

Will experiment more later. For now have clock with bright permanent display, with fairly accurate temp & humidity (so far), run from USB power. Minimal work for good result.

It's OK. But far better to buy one with a permanent on display. Maybe the next weather clock deal

  • Received this rubbish today. Screen is totally unintelligible and the build quality is horrible. I am going after a refund.

  • anyone got a refund out of it?

  • received mine soo disappointed 😔 my screen display can only be viewed at a certain angle and can’t even see time clearly with out pressing snooze the build is really bad I wouldn’t even give this to my local homeless guy it’s that bad
