  • OP, have you tried these yourself? Can't seem to find any reviews on google.

    • I'm curious on how they sound too, can't find any reviews either. Love the look of them and the build quality looks great.

    • I have tried them and was very impressed with the sound they produced for a pair of in-ear earphones. They're very accurate and smooth with alot of detail and the midrange is strong and clear. Very comfortable fit as well :)

      • So would it be fair to say they're not bass-heavy?

Any idea how they might compare to the Shure SE215? I have a pair of these, but I'm looking to upgrade to a pair of wireless earphones.

        • Check out the Onkyo in ears at RIO. There are a couple of reviews putting it on par with Shure SE215 but having a more 'fun' signature that is more suitable on the go instead. They are also less than $100 and sport the removable cable design.

      • Cheers, just ordered a pair.

        Thanks, purchased a pair.

Found a pretty detailed review if anyone is interested

Use google translate as it's in French.

        • I did the same thing a couple of days ago. It was still a confusing read though.

  • Mine came in today and I was pretty excited!

To my suprise, the box was damaged and there were scratches on the aluminium part on one of the ear pieces. You can also see scratches on the glossy part of the remote. I probably got a demo or something so I'm gonna try return them… not very happy with this.

They sound okay though especially concerning the price - similar to Sol Republic Shadows which are around 100 anyway.

I'll be getting a new one tomorrow after a return and then I can do a more in depth review. RIO has other oretty decent deals too - mainly the Onkyo IEMs which have pretty good reviews but are wired.

Hi, I was just informed about this from one of my colleagues. Apologies for how you received the earphones.
As it may have been mentioned to you, we have plenty of these in stock and they are not set for demo in our stores, so there is no way you would have been given a demo pair. Aside from that these were factory sealed so I'm not sure how the earphones were scratched, and the aluminum packaging would have been damaged during transit as we would not have sent it out damaged.
Once again I do apologise for how you received these, but I've been told we are replacing them for you today so I hope you will be satisfied with your new pair :)

Hi, no worries! Thank you for the great customer service. Definitely would recommend RIO to others and Addicted to Audio for the large selection you guys have -> nice selection of hidden gem and non mainstream products that are exceptional such as Ultrasone and Onkyo headphones.

Damage on the box is understandable but I have no clue why the insides were scratched etc. I went to Hamilton and the rep there was really nice and also checked for me. We assumed it's probably just the occasional manufacturing defect issue. There was none in stock there but the lady there arranged for some to come in. I will get the replacement tomorrow.

Gonna have a first review up tomorrow and then another after about a week :)

I got mine today too and apart from a couple of dings on the metal case everything inside was in good condition.

        • Please leave a review too.
I would like to know your opinion on these.

        • @OrangeKitten:

I've only used them briefly so far because ear tips they come with are so uncomfortable, I'm waiting for some new ear tips before I try them out properly.

        • @yippy: what tips did you end up getting?

        • @kennethk:

Ordered some Comply SX-500 Sports. They fit the Beats X and the Elipson's are a similar size. My Beats X ear tips fit the Elipson's. I prefer foam ear tips, I find it much more comfortable and get a better seal than silicon.

        • @yippy: Thanks for the heads up. I've used comply foam ear tips previously and must say I never got used to them. Will see how the silicone tip goes once I receive the headphones.

Okay so I got a nice replacement and used them recently. The small eartips fit very well for me and are comfortable, very happy with the fit.

To reduce cable noise I would put the supplied clip on and link it to your shirt to balance the remote since it is pretty big. I would not reccomend these for running as they may pop out of your ears, the clip helps it not fall off though.

They are quite loud and isolate pretty good considering I had them on at the back of a bus. The detail was great even at lower volumes. Compared to my prevous earphones they sound a lot better out of the box and have less but more detailed bass. Overall I'd consider these a upgrade to my Sol Republic Shadows, especially with vocals. Also the microphone is a lot better than the Shadows and they look better too. After playing around with EQs I must say the Elipsons are amazing for wireless earphones.

The only gripe I have is that the remote should also be aluminium and that battery is about 6 hours. If nothing is playing you can hear some hissing but this goes away if something is playing. Also they don't seem to automatically reconnect to my phone after shutdown.

Still worth it considering the quality though. I'd recommend these if you are after some nice wireless earphones on the go. If you want pure quality these are pretty good but high end wired earphones may suit you better. Overall, very happy with my purchase. Thank you.
