  • Be careful of their 'discounts'
They take the pay-on-time discount off the next bill, not the current one so you always end up paying more for the final one.

    • So it's not really a discount then, it's more of a credit that gets cancelled if you close your account…

    • Actually you end up paying more for the first bill where no discount applied, for this offer it's the second bill.

    • Where have you seen that? I can't find it..

  • Does this have the really high tariffs like their last offer???

  • is this applicable to new customer too?

    1. Be careful with Click Energy and Amaysim (same company) they hike rates massively.
    2. Using the promo code "WINTER" may be better at Click Energy as it gives you $25 off each gas and electricity bill every month for 6 months. ($300 credit) This reduces the time you spend with this shady mob.
    • Are they supposed to send you a notice b4 a price increase?

I had just switched to them. I am thinking to opt out now, the way they apply discount is ridiculous

    • I feel the same, especially about the discount. Although overall their rate + discount ends up being quite competitive still

    • What he said. do not join them. I am probably going to go to the Ombudsman because of the way their billing system works. Lets just say a lot of people are getting ripped off if they do not know how to do math.
I signed up to the same thing last year but will be leaving them sooner than the 1 year

I think when you opt out still they has to give you doscount and that one you can get back on your account

    • I am opting out and they told me that I will not get any discount as discount applies to "next" bill once you pay this bill on time. Since there is no next bill. No discount!

  • Total ripoff. Don't waste your money and time with them.

    • +1

Ozb definition of ripoff is when you can't rip them off.
I have done the sums and I'd still be on top around $100 in 12mths compared to all other providers in my area so it's not a total ripoff. It's just that the system prevents any sign and dash ozbargain shenanigans.

    Energy rates are much higher.

    • +1

Not for everyone. How many areas have you checked to be able to say that applies to everyone?

  • Energy rates make this a poor value deal.

  • -2

Poor rates and you are locked in for a year if you want to make the most out of this deal.

    • +2

Not necessarily. You can just take the $125 and leave. Rates depend on where you live.

      • Very true one bill than run to others

      • It still wouldn't make sense for me. Amaysim's base supply and usage rates are higher than what I'm currently on. And they give a measly %5 discount on supply and usage costs. I get %33 with my current provider. I would probably be paying more in a quarter with Amaysim even with the $125 discount.

Negging this deal is wrong. Rates are dependent on the area and depending how big or energy hungry your house is. Mine is a small 2 bedroom apartment with an energy bill of 80-90 a month. If I stay with amaysim for 2 months I'm way on top. Switching is very easy to keep getting these sign up offers from different energy providers.

Let people consider the deal and see if its appropriate to them. OP is not by any means saying that this deal is appropriate for everyone.

    +1 from me

    BEWARE the fine print

Discount is off your usage and supply charges, after concessions and solar export applied when you pay your bill on time.

This in effect discounts your concession and Solar export.
