have you had any experience with jaben 1500NS?
thank you bought it for my mum for mothers day.
Such good headphones. Not the best price we've seen but you won't regret it. Great noise canceling (not quite bose level but close enough). Sound is spectacular!
So Bose QC35s are better for NC? What about sound quality?
It's completely subjective. Some reviews say Sony are better, some say Bose are. Reality is we probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I've got these and highly recommend them. Fantastic on long plane journeys.
In terms of ANC, both are relatively similar - with varying functionality. With sound quality, SONY takes the cake but just barely. It is totally subjective, but if you prefer comfort over all else go with the Bose. Something to keep in mind is that with all ANC headphones, you will get pain in your ears similar to that when you take off in a plane. SONY does a better job at preventing this, however, you eventually get used to it.
Thanks to you on Hybroid. I have a pair of Bose QC3s, I'll need to upgrade one day so I was curious.
I second this. By these headphones, you will not be disappointed!
I think Sony sound better. My family have both the boss QC35 and Sony. Bose has better noise cancelling for sure, but Sony's sound is more lively. Bose is a bit flat. I haven't really seen any review that says that Bose has better sound quality though
JB Hifi has them all on display
While this is true they only display demo versions. For example the Sony WH-1000XM2 DEMO only supports the SBC codec, which gives you way worse sound quality than if you're using a legit pair with an android oreo device at home.
Yes I don't regret buying them. Half of our office have a pair of them and no one can hear each other… haha.
I’m still trying to figure this out. Went to JB and tried both of them. Sound about the same and I didn’t notice much difference on NC. JB guy told the sony is better even on NC… who knows?
The only feeling is that the QC feels cheaper material but on the other hand is a little light
I must admit that I have not tried the Bose headphones but I can't see how they could be (much) better than the Sony. I bought them for around 360 on one of the earlier deals as I "needed" them for a trip to the US (also did not want to miss out on TRS) and the only regret I have is not having bought much earlier! I do a lot of domestic travel but yet never could justify spending that much on headphones when the MI Pistons for 20 bucks were doing fine. But once you tried these it would be hard travelling without again. I have done the 13 hours Brisbane Los Angeles a number of times, but this was something different. If you close your eyes you can almost forget you are on a plane. If you have not actually experienced it, it is hard to imagine how much difference this can make. Even great to sleep with. I was a bit concerned as many tests stated that have a bit high(er) clamping force and that you tend to sweat easily on the ears; as I am quite sensitive with those kinds of things and for example usually can't wear my Logitech G430s for longer times for these exact reasons; But I wore the Sonys pretty much the entire trip (26 hours door to door) and had NO issues at all and the battery was also still going strong! Why I got the Sonys instead of the Bose when I was concerned about the above: Because many tests stated they had better ActiveNoiseCanceling AND better Sound. Could not be happier!!
I heard that the NC turns itself off after 5 mins, unless you're connected to a device. This seems like a major flaw as many people wouldn't want to have a cable attached to them, or run down the battery on their device. You should just be able to keep NC for when you're sleeping without the need for anything else.
They're great, but they don't fit my big ears
Yep. This will be the deciding factor for some!
Ok I was trying to place the order and the earliest delivery date is 21/06!! They don’t have in stock.
If you're fussy about comfort I'd say do not buy
This is the main difference. but i think it depends on ear size and shape than overall comfort. I say this because I have small enough ears that these headphones do not come into contact with my ear at all, and they feel amazing. On par with the Bose. But there is not a lot of room, and I could see larger ears getting irritated. The clamping force on the Sony's are stronger as well, which I don't mind, but could be an issue for others.
7 weeks for delivery. Step aside, Zapals, there's a new kid in town.
Hmmm I am very confused by the long delivery date of this deal. We would never be comfortable with timeframes that go past two weeks.
Just looks like a back ordered product with long delivery dates just in case, says 8-16 days on the main page though..
This product is notoriously backordered. We are short changed by Sony in the tune of at least 500 units each month - we can never get enough, so I wouldn't be surprised if this deal proves so popular that they cannot fulfil it in time.
Was looking at buying, but the delivery date puts a halt on that.
Try price matching tomorrow at JB or similar.
If you have to wait 6 weeks A price lower will come. This price isnt the lowest wereve seen. Excellent NC headphones by the way. Comfortable, great sound and features.
Anyone paying over $300 for this needs to have their ozbargain license confiscated.
Absolutely I agree with Homersimpson.
Mod: Edited mispelling of username.
Why? Care to provide a link to get one under $300? This particular model gets good reviews and most reviewers say its comparable (if not better) than the Bose QC 35 which is even more expensive.
Are these any good for travel (In flight)?
Copy past of my reply to a different topic above (comparing them to the BOSE):

Costs $300 USD on sony US store costs $500 AUD on sony AUS store. $300 USD = $400 AUD anyone see the problem here ?
Price of living in this country, unfortunately. I checked the same with the Audio Technica ANC700BT, heard they were great budget wireless ANC cans compared to the Sony's, around $250 AUD (converted from US dollars). Nek minut Australia sells them for $349. Lol so no one's gonna buy that when the Sony WH-1000XM2 routinely goes on sale.
Im not sure of your point. We all know Aussies get price gouged. Exchange not great now. If you brought from US the postage would kill it. See if Costco get them again. $280 or the like. They can buy bulk and psss onto buyers. I do however think they are expensive, but they are priced against Bose and other similar priced NC headphone. If your not in a hurry wait for better deal it will come. They have only been out since late last year so will be more reductions in pric from those $300s I think.
Anyone looking for a set of open (very open!) cans but with a much tighter budget: Jaben Audio have the top-of-their-line Goldring DR150 cans for $49 (down from $150).
Fabulous set of open cans.
