Damn… for a moment I thought this is the deal of the month (Google Pixel2 XL for $521.10)

    • Same here and I bought that LG G6 from DWI Digitial almost a year ago for $459!! Almost a year ago with a Snapdragon 821 chip.

    Hi OP,

Thanks for posting this deal. We've just dropped the LG G6 price down further to $518.22 after 10% off. Can you please update it? Thanks

    EDIT: Thanks Hamza

  • LG G6 have separate slot for SD card or shared with 2ndary Sim slot?

    • Hi abcd,

The latter, the LG G6's microSD slot is shared with SIM2. Thanks

FYI people are selling the Pixel 2 XL en masse from that Telstra deal a while ago. You can get it everywhere under $1000 tho.

    • Telstra flooded the market and thats why we will start seeing heaps of sales for P2XL

      • How much was Telstra selling them for? Can you guys link me to that deal.

The deal is still on until July as some rep confirmed it. $59/24 mo for a Pixel 2Xl 64GB + Google Home Mini + 15GB a month. You can also get $10/mo discount + 5GB extra via online chat later. So it works out to be around $1175 for a phone and 2 years services. Thats why a lot of people is selling Pixel + Home mini for merely $900~$950 everywhere (Gumtree, marketplace)

        • Basically they were free if you wanted to go on Telstra, or at most $240 over the life of the plan.

    • What's the process for buying a phone which is technically on contract with someone else? You run the risk of them reporting it as stolen and having it locked.

Is there anyway to report a 'transfer of ownership'?

  • Hmmm LG G6 price is tempting. But is better than the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 deal (for $460)?

    RAM: 6GB vs 4GB
    Processor: Snapdragon 845 Octa (4 x 2.8 GHz & 4 x 1.8 GHz ) vs 821 Quad (2 x 2.35 GHz & 2 x 1.6 GHz)

    Thoughts?

Mix 2 has more going for it other than non AU stock…. G6 DS 64GB should really be under $500 by now….

      • How do the cameras compare between them? I assume all G6 models use the same processor/ram/camera?

      • I agree, but the LG G6 seems to be a favorite among ozbargainers. I'm just wondering if it still is the best bang for buck phone or has other offerings from Xiaomi caught up. I just don't know if 4GB is going to cut it these days.

Particularly if you plan to keep the phone for more than 2 years.

        • I think being less than $100 difference in price when on sale, being Australian stock just has more guarantee for something from LG, which previously had hardware issues (e.g. bootloop) that would be a PITA to deal with if without local manufacturer warranty. I am aware that the issues are now fixed, but the bad reputation takes time to shake off in the sub-conscience. The phone itself is indeed a good piece of technology and good value for the price (especially when you compare it to the flagships of comparable brands), so the local AU stock provides a peace of mind. The peace of mind is worth it, especially for something that are expensive to repair, and last for 2 years.

Thought Mi Mix2 has no SD CARD slot? the LG G6 does…if you need it.

is also water-proof… still Mix 2 is probably better at that price…

    G6 was ~$100 cheaper a few days ago https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/375585

      different product.

Different product, but TBH I reckon the DS model at $415 is more reasonable given the age of the phone and the competition.

Ok sorru, yes not quite the same but I agree the $100 increase for this one in OP isn't worth it
