    • Tefal is a good brand and if you don't already have a good food processor this could be good as it's "all in one". Mate has a Thermomix and she wishes she kept her Vitamix and food processor combo as she felt it did the jobs better.Depends on your usage but those who got it just over 300. Worth a crack considering the two units I mentioned are well over that mark.

I personally have a Magimix and vitamix and I wouldn't put that away over this.

      Carbs, Veges and protein

      Veges are carbs and protein.

      • -1

Sometimes but not all the time.

    • +1

I'm amazed you can cook anything remotely tasty for a family in 15-20 mins, let alone every night. Do you have any recipe examples? I'm very time poor in the evening

      • +4

Two pans on the stove. One doing chicken with dried herbs. The other doing cannellini beans with garlic and butter. Broccoli or peas in the microwave steaming and job done.

I tend to alternate carbs with lentils, beans and sweet potato. Veges tend to be broccoli, peas or green salad mix.

A good trick is a sweet potato and a julienne peeler. Sweet potato noodles usually done in about five minutes.

I've got a meal prep Sunday goto fav that takes me around 30 minutes to make and gives around 4-5 meals that I can then freeze for the next week.

It's just a basic stirfry that I've tweaked a little for my own tastes and to bring the prep time down.

        Food:
800g frozen vegetables (saves so much time in chopping and is cheap/nutritious).
        Fresh cup mushrooms
        Fresh spring onion
500g diced chicken (I buy pre-shredded/diced for an extra $1 because for me it's worth it to not handle raw chicken)
        Peanut oil
        Garlic clove
        Noodles
        Soy sauce
        Other sauces/spices suit to taste

        Utensils:
        2x stove burners
        1 decent sized pan
        1 pot
        1 strainer
        1 chef/santoku knife
        1 chopping board
1 shallow ladle (I don't know what they are called but very useful for stir frying).

        1) Let frozen vegetables thaw in fridge overnight.

        2) Mince the garlic and slice the mushrooms/spring onion. I like thin sliced mushrooms and thick sliced spring onion.

        3) Preheat pan to very hot with a teaspoon of peanut oil and start boiling water in a pot (can do this at the same time as chopping if fast enough).

        4) Before the peanut oil gets to it's smoke point, it starts to give off a little pre-smoke. Once the pre smoke starts - dump the chicken in and stir around until to the point where it's cooked, but not browned. I use the pan lid as to shield myself from burning oil sputter and my ladle as a sword to stir lol!

        5) Ladle the chicken out of the pan, turn the heat down to medium-high, add about another teaspoon of peanut oil and put in the garlic.

        6) Once garlic starts to brown, dump in frozen vegetables and keep stirring. This is also the point where I add noodles to the boiling water.

        7) Once the vegetables have started to soften I'll season to taste with a bit of soy sauce and habenero mango/chilli sauce. Stir well.

        8) As soon as the sauces are stirred in, put in the mushrooms and spring onion.

        9) Keep stirring until texture is to taste and strain noodles to put aside.

        10) Portion out noodles to stir fry mix.

End up being $15 for 4-5 good meals. I could bring it down to $12 if I cut the chicken and vegetables myself but then it's an extra ~30 mins of chopping/cleaning prep.

  • im in the market for a good food processor not neccissarly one with the ability to cook things but can see the potitenial of this. Is it worth it? Is the food processor as good as others in this price range?

As this is sold out I’m thinking $650 from Harvey Norman

    • If you do decide to get one. Try using Devamaniac receipt above to get Harvey Norman to price match.

    • This isn't a food processor. You'd need to purchase the vegetable shredder attachment.
You would be better with a stand alone food processor, if you didn't want the cooking function.

    • +1

      Don't do it - get a Magimix.

  • Surely they won’t honour this?

  • I wonder if the original discount (and this apparent price match) are because this model is going to be superseded?

  • +1

Probably a price error but worth a try.

  • Wow, feeling mega ripped off as I just bought it for 649.50 on Thursday.

I just got off the phone with Amazon AU and although very helpful, couldn't offer me a refund of the difference.

    • In the same boat, thinking of returning the item once it is delivered, as I didn't really need it and the OzBargain in me took over. Sadly I can't cancel the order on the Amazon website even though it has not shipped yet. If its going for $650 at hardly normal if I decide I want it later I might buy it then.

      • The customer service rep said the best way to return it is to refuse delivery. This way it'll make it back through "return to sender" and you don't pay shipping.

I'm probably going to accept it as still a decent deal, just not as sweet as this.

        • Just got off a chat session with Amazon and was able to cancel order. You have until May 13th if it comes back in stock to get it at $324.50 if you want to take the gamble. Otherwise just go to Hardly Normal and get it at $650.

  • +5

I would be so annoyed if I received one of these for Mother’s Day. Very bulky, expensive yes even $350 and don’t need it.

Tefal is a good brand. Can’t live without Tefal Minut pressure cooker. 5 yrs and still going strong. Wished that was in the sale. Delicious one pot meals. Melt in your mouth beef rib dry noodles in 20mins. Yum

    • +2

      recipe pls thanks :)

    • Agree - I've got the Breville Fast/Slow (slow cooker and a pressure cooker) - falling off the bone meat in under an hour. Poached chicken at 7 minutes for 2 breasts. Wouldn't trade it for one of these.

  • nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo….i want this

    • +4

      No you don't

      • +2

        Name doesn't check out.

i cant wait for the microwave from the 5th element to be reality. put in a cube, 5 seconds later out comes a whole roast chicken.

    • +1

      Mooltipass?

    • back to the future as well for a midget pizza into a big full size pizza..

  • These machines are a marketing guru's wet dream. Usually aimed at bored gullible housewives.

    • +4

That's very limited thinking. They have their place - these are great when you want to cook something that needs constant stirring or relatively accurate temperature control that you don't need to hover over. All the auto functions are probably a bit unnecessary but can't see it being a marketing gimmick if it helps someone. I use a bellini for stock, soups, risotto and making yoghurt. Takes substantially more effort without it.

    • Ouch, that's a bit rough on stay at home parents, no wonder it's getting to be a less popular job. FWIW, I actually think it's aimed at time-poor families. It's marketed as a set-and-forget style machine that means you don't have to waste time chopping and cooking.

      • That's exactly how they are marketed. They are a complete rip off though. Considering 95% of all other kitchen appliances can be bought at full RRP for <$200, the mark up on these machines must be phenomenal.

I bet they are made in a minimum wage warehouse in Asia for less <$30 a piece.

        • R and D is a factor in all these products.

    • That's a bit of a stretch. A marketers wet dream would be Apple fanatics and bottled water.

How often will a household be lured into purchasing one of these things? How long do these things last?

Do you really believe the markup on a +$1000 smartphone is any better? The price of a few hundred grams of plastic, silicon and metal is likely to be under $50 to produce. A smartphone will be obsolete within 2 years.

For the price of a smartphone you could buy a games console + PC + regular mobile phone.

Compare how many units of smartphones are sold to the number of these kitchen appliances. Mwhahahahaha.

      • +1

You're preaching to the converted. That's why i Ozbargain my phone. Currently rocking a $150 Xiaomi.

  • Now back to $1299 at HN

  • +1

Kind of hoping for a miracle and it comes back in stock around the same price.

Is there a way to set an OZB reminder on an expired/OOS product if/when it becomes active again?

    • +2

You can setup an instock notification with Amazon. Would be quicker than waiting for a reply here

    • Not going to even bother with the $20 new user. $325 is a steal. If it comes in stock will definitely grab one to replace my Tefal Cook4me

  • is this comparable to thermomix ?

    • Probably but these don’t explode

  • +1

I bought it a few days ago at 630. Decided it was worth it as we don't have a food processor or a lot of other kitchen gadgets.

    • where did you get it for 630?

      • Harvey Norman were selling for $650 chafstone store had heaps

      • There was the $20 for new customers.

  • Missed this one! Please let me know if you see another one!

  • Back to 1299 with stock now

  • checkout as $655, not $300ish

    • :'(

Was hoping for it to come back at $300ish

      • I am also ready to part with my money in that case !

  • Did anyone who bought it at $324 get it posted?

    • +4

Yep, just got the notification that mine has been sent.

      • Bargain of the century if it arrives. Thats $1000 off…

        • Yep mine has shipped too

        • yes all mine got posted arriving Thursday

        • @Dex38313:

        • @troyww:
          Still waiting too,
Did the people who have their order fulfilled order before the deal was posted?

        • @Azif:

And yes I ordered after the deal was posted .

        • @Azif: I bought it on 28/29 May at 630. Received my box today.

        • @lolbbq:
          Yep mine arrived yesterday .
I'll tip my hat to Amazon , That was a very fast turnaround .

        • @lolbbq:
          Got mine too now. Thanks

    • I ordered mine an hour before the deal was posted but it is still yet to ship

      • mine still hasn't shipped and i ordered before it was posted, their fulfillment is weird if people who ordered after are already getting theirs

  • +2

If you buy the cuisine companion from Harvey Norman they have a current promotion where you get a free second bowl for the machine (RRP $229). Didn’t look closely enough at the sign in store to see how long this offer is on for though.

    • +1

Hi which stor did u c the promotion in

      • Moorabbin VIC

        • Same deal at Moore Park NSW think it said offer till 31st may while stocks last

        • They only had one in stock and typical Hardly Normal couldn't find it

    • thanks for this! my local @ Bennetts green are offering this as well.

  • Harvey Norman on sale again $1290 but enter code 50OFF pay only $645

  • Back on Stock for 645

  • Can anyone please send me a screenshot of the cart with the discount applied or a proof of purchase with sensitive details blocked out?

  • Can someone explain step by step how to get it for 300ish please

    • You no longer can that’s why it should be marked expired. Amazon was selling it for $650 and then the 50% discount was applied. Now the price has gone back to the original price and comes down to $650 with the 50% discount applied.

  • Just got an email from amazon it says arrival dat as 3rd May

  • Got mine today in a massive box. Cooked polenta. delicious.

  • Has anyone asked amazonif they will match the $325 price now that it is back on stock?

  • Got one of mine today

    • Why didn't you upvote the deal then?

If you and 8 other people who bought this or thought it was a great deal and didn't upvote the deal, then it's stuck on 91 upvotes and Bsheng who alerted the community of such an awesome deal won't get the badge for getting 100+ upvotes on a deal.

  • Received mine today, However there was no spare bowl in the box. SO those who bought at 324/304 did yours come with a spare bowl?.

    • +3

There was never a spare bowl offered at Amazon. Some harvey norman's did have a promotion for a spare bowl but that was for $650 but I don't think anyone got the spare bowl at that price.

      • They were giving away spare bowl at hn chadston vic with every one u purchased
