Xiaomi Mi Roborock S50 Robot Vacuum Cleaner 2nd Generation - $512.95 Delivered (AU) @ Gearbite eBay

This is the cheapest price I have found for the updated version of Xiaomi Mi Roborock. Reviews of Gen1 were quite positive. Not many reviews for Gen2, but it seems that improvements are significant. Overall I prefer Gen2 for $200 more.

Anyone know where I can get the first gen one cheaply?

  • What's a cheap price for gen 1?

Was looking at getting one here in nz for $400 nzd delivered. $375AUD / $283USD

    • NZ is a bit harder to get deals on these. $370NZD would be a great deal but anything under $400 is good. Over $400 and you have to pay the tax.

  • The Gen1 has been around $330 to $340 previously. Gearbite price seems competitive:

    It's around $170 cheaper than Gen2. Gen2 main advantages:
    - Mopping
    - Infrared sensors.
    - Better climbing.
    - Better suction.
    - Bigger bin.

The battery and running times are the same.

  • it mops? :D

    • Waits for Roboguys new deals ~ and when Gen2 gets to $350.

  • If I bought a small fleet of these (say 2-3) to vacuum a 5 bedroom double storey house, would I ever need to get out the good ol' bagless vacuum ever again?

    • You'd still need to pick up all the bigger items…

my wife leaves hair ties every where and the bot doesn't like that very much :(

    • One per story would be enough unless you don't mind taking it upstairs setting it down and pursuing a button 2-4x per week.

    • It doesn't suck as much dirt from the edges as it sweeps this towards the middle of the machine, so overtime you do see a difference along the architrave that the normal vac can fix.

  • Mopping sucks. Thou does everything else KICK ARSE.

    • Do you have one? Could you please give us more info? Does it ever get lost or misses a spot?

      • Sorry for the late reply. Never misses a spot. Goes around furniture quite smartly. I personally still get version 2. I'm looking to get one for my upstairs area. Only issue is the very corner thou if you have it on Max setting it does it very well. Just wait till it gets on sale again. The mopping does suck but the manual does say it does need to go over the area a 2-3 times to mop properly, which I haven't given it a good go. Thou i reckon it does still leave streaks.

    • And is GEN 1 better then? cheaper without mopping which sucks?

  • Nothing beats a Miele

if you could point me to the Miele robot vac that costs around $500 - ill jump on it

  • If anyone has rug, generation 2 is better with climbing ability.

  • Just wondering What happens when the robot finishes and it was mopping? Returns to the dock and the wet cloth sits there causing a wet spot? Thanks.
