BTW this runs on Nougat now. I upgraded to Android 7 late last year.
Still a fairly responsive tablet, but note the GPU used inside this tablet is pretty weak.
Good enough for Netflix and eBooks?
Is this a good upgrade from the original Galaxy Tab S?
Looking to get a replacement tablet for my mum for mothers day. She currently has the Samsung Galaxy Tab S which I bought her 4yrs ago but is having battery issues
Tab S is a higher product line, always come with amoled screen.
This cpu is better than original tab s and its battery is good too.
To me, they are close, not an upgrade.
This is a good price, but why not go for OW price beat?
I have both, this is definitely better for everyday use, web browsing is much smoother compared to Tab S which is quite jerky for some reason. If you are gaming, Tab S for sure. This has great battery life.
But is this considered as an upgrade??
No, this is Samsung's entry level, but it is 3 yrs newer than Tab S, so processor and battery are better. Screen is surprisingly good for entry level too. Tab S looks and feels more premium, but is more sluggish in everyday use, partly due to outdated processor and partly due to running Android 6, versus Tab A is on Android 7. Tab S2 or S3 would be the more logical upgrade over Tab S, but given the choice of Tab S or Tab A (10.1), I would take the Tab A.
@billy_bob: The tab S3 is $847 from officeworks. That's absurd considering I paid around $350 (I think) for the Tab S when it first came out with the 20% off promo

Nahh.. I’d rather stay away from Hardly Normal
Any good deals for tab a with s pen?
Not a bad tablet, wish it had more ram though.
