  • Has anyone tried the new yorker style ? are they any good.

    • +3

I enjoy them. Nothing too complicated about them, and I can't really taste too much difference in the base (nor do they really seem to fold as promised). I'd happily eat them again.

      • +7

It tastes exactly the same as it's value range equivalent..except bigger (and more expensive ?)..
I tried the pepperoni and sausage and I thought it tasted pretty bland and horrid.

      • +1

Thanks , i will give them a try …. sausage , mushroom sounds good

        • +3

The one I got was awful, even by Domino's standards.

        • +9

I'm surprised any ozbargain members would be a new yorker, like you can buy 3 x $5 pepperoni's for that!!

        • +2

          @DR-JEKL:

That is correct, and you get a lot more topping and better $ value with the three $5 pizzas.

Was very disappointed with the new yorker i tried as there was much less peperoni.

        • +3

@DR-JEKL: some may have emigrated here.

I always add a note when ordering online "Ensure pizza is extra saucy and cheesy as Don Meij intended". I get a perfect one every time. They are meant to have heaps of sauce and cheese, with few toppings evenly spread so you can really taste the individual flavors. The staff figure, this guy knows how it should be - better get it right or they'll complain and we have to redo it anyway.

      • +18

With a comment like that, I bet you get plenty of extra "sauce"

    WTH is a Melbourne pizza?

  • What is a Melbourne Pizza?

    • +4

Melbourne Pizzas are only the best pizzas available at Domino's…

      • What makes them better?

EDIT: nvm. The whole Melbourne range thing is described below in another thread.

    • the vegan pizza? :)

  • +1

I’m gonna go out on a lamb and suggest the Melbourne Pizza is a lot like the New Yorker Pizzas, but y’know, more like Melbs.

    • +10

I’m gonna go out on a lamb

I sheep what you did there…

      • Oh wool you stop already!!

        • Ahhh shanks you're making me blush!

        • @MathNerd: Well for thinking you're a cutlet above the rest, I'll dish out multiple puns. You ain't got mutton on me!

        • @pennypincher98: You've just grazed the surface of what's possible!

    • So baasically you're saying they are the same

  • +9

Melbourne pizzas are a range, it includes:
    The Aussie
    The Lot
    Veggie Supreme
    Tandoori Chicken
    Capriciosa
    Margherita

They're not available outside of Melbourne, explaining the confusion above.

    • +4

That sounds a bit snobby then eh!

      • But it works fine.

        • +1

What about the Bogan With No Teeth special? Made with only mushy ingredients so it's easy to gum.

        • @tommy-darko:

That would be a Far North QLD Pizza haha.

  • yeah wtf is melb pizza

    • +1

      wtf is melb

    50% off Traditional/Premium/Melbourne Pizzas

    OP username checks out.

I miss the Chef's best …. something about a square pizza , good topping ratio too.

    • +1

I miss the chicken and camembert :(

      • I miss the puff pastry….

  • Do they still have the thick shake happy hour between 3-5PM?

  • -2

Wouldn't work, got an error message saying that the voucher cannot be used at this time of day…wtf …it is dinner time what other time would you want to use it??

    • +1

      It starts on the 30th

  • Does this work on half n half?

    • I would imagine it would, you just have to pay the standard $2 surcharge on top.

  • You cant really do the toppings change for free anymore as each topping has a charge added to it and so you cant swap pineapple for chicken for free anymore :(. As well as i noticed none of the codes worked in my local store, first time i could not order a traditional pizza with a code. So strange.

I ordered the NEw Yorkers, way overpriced and very ordinary for what you get.

    • +1

I noticed this new sneaky surcharge the other day. Changed tomato to mushroom on a pizza and got slugged a 50c surcharge.

      • You can only change toppings that have the same or less value. Chicken is now $3 and pineapple is $2 so extra $1. Mushroom also costs $2 while tomato costs $1.5

        • Noooo! No more vegetarian with chicken and prawn?!

        • @yaziyo: Don't reveal my secret. This is the only thing I get at Dominos and if it disappears I'm not paying more for less.

        • You can actually also take 1 topping off, add several more, for no extra charge.
Eg. Take $2 topping off, add 2xspring onions 50 cents, tomato capsicum swirl sauce $1 :)
As long as what you add = what you removed.

Got an email for the same deal but a different coupon code: 802497. Might be useful if the posted codes don't work for the store you want to buy from.

    • I also got the same email with the same code. Valid in most QLD stores

    • Thanks, this one works for me, the OP's didn't.

      • Awesome! Glad it worked and saved some money.

  • I've changed the 50% off code to 140724 which should be Australia wide as it's a social one. Some alternate codes below:

    793280
    134206
    783410
    429858
    802497

If anyone finds that 140724 code doesn't work but others do, please let me know by comment reply or pm (and the store if possible).

    • 665824 in Gosford

  • More codes:
    379148 - 50% off pizza
    183791 - 2 GB for $5
    473651 - GB & 1.25L drink $5

  • Can't believe how many times this has been duplicated today. Maybe different codes but same deal. Just post different codes to same deal here.

  • I also received a flyer with different codes:

    50% Traditional and Premium Pizzas - 783410
    $5 Garlic Bread + 1.25L Drink - 894191
    $5 2 x Garlic Breads - 416767

  • I got a text with the code 642213, which seems to work at most WA stores

  • Any $$$ off New Yorkers?

  • Save your time, the domino's Australia website and app cannot send the order to their store for my case, it happened 2 weeks from my last order and keep saying - Your order was not able to be processed by the store. We have cancelled and refunded your money.

    • That happened to me when I ordered when the store was closed. Despite the pickup time being when the store was open.

    • So when did you find this out? Soon after placing the order? I've ordered for dinner tonight, and if we find out too late they can't do it, there'll be mutiny in the family

    • Nah it works just fine.

  • I've been getting messages saying that today is the last day of the deal. Interested to see if other codes can still be applied until the 9th!

    • 140724 expired but 783410 works

  • +2

Thanks op, used this deal last night. The pizza was terrible and reminded me why I don't buy dominoes, but at least it was cheap.

    • I've just been ordering for the convenience factor, but I have to say I am underwhelmed by their Premium range, which even at 50% off is in a similar price bracket to deals from independently owned local Pizza businesses.

  • Rule: If you're paying above $7 for a pizza, it's not worth it.

    • +2

Unless it’s from a local pizza joint that is not Dominos or Pizza Hut and now even Crust.

Perth peeps good old Marcos or Marios or Brandons haha for pizza.

      • Agreed.

  • Can i order Melbourne pizza if i live in Sydney.😀

    • +1

You could but it'd be an awful long way to drive to pick up a pizza though.

  • cool dinner sorted

  • Sweet, KFC $10 24 nuggets, $6 Micky D's burgers and this. Dinner sorted.
