I just signed up using the link, <$5 for lunch seemed like a good deal, even KFC Hot and Spicy cost $5.

12 MEAL LUNCH
$4.79/MEAL

20 MEAL LUNCH
$4.49/MEAL

I made a mistake signing up not using the referral randomiser below, otherwise i would have gotten $50 Visa Gift Card. So, don't make my mistake, and sign up using the referral link Mod: Referral link will give meals at $7.49ea, it doesn't appear to stack with the main link offer.

MealPal is a lunch program that gives you access to the best restaurants for less than $8 per meal. With the current promotion, get lunch for $4.49.

How it works

  1. I'll serve up tons of delicious options for you to choose from every weekday. You'll have between 5:00pm the day before lunch and 9:30am the day of lunch to make your selection.
  2. You can select your pickup time in 15-minute windows. Your meal will be ready when you get to the restaurant, so you can go right to the register and say 'so long' to the queue.
  3. After eating, log in and tell me what you think. Loved it? Sweet. Not your fave? Let’s find something different tomorrow.

May be worth adding a tag - only restaurants (currently) available are in Melbourne (and Sydney). Mods beat me to it…

    Interesting concept but.

If you want to save more, register spare emails with them and they give progressively better deals. If you wait ~2 weeks you should be able to get 2 months for the price of 1 ($3.75/meal). I’ve seen deals for 3 meals for $3 and I managed to get 5 meals in 1 week for $1.

    • wait, you mean, register but not actually pay and sign up to a meal plan (i.e. no money has changed hands) and then wait 2 weeks?

  • Is this only for metro Melbourne?
I can't see any restaurants in Melbournes west?
    Seems a good deal otherwise

    • If you check out https://mealpal.com/au/ and scroll to the bottom of the page, you will see a list of restaurants in participating cities. :)
I'm reading about it as well, but it seemed like each restaurant prepares a meal per day and you are able to see and select which meal/restaurant you want to order from.

    • Seem to all be in cbd.

I've been using MealPal for a few months, working in Melbourne CBD.
    The process is pretty easy:
    - Prepay for either 12 meals ($7.99 each) or 20 meals ($7.49 each) over a 30 day period
    - Review the meal on offer for that day, from lots of providers, between 5pm and 9:30am, choose the meal and pick-up time.
    - Pick up at the designated time; jump the queue if you have to.

I have lots of options near me and am continually finding new places to try. Some have the same meal on the same day of each week, some are a little more random.

The benefits to me are the cost saving (unless you really do like 7-Eleven sandwiches) and the variety.
The benefits to the providers are that they can prepare the orders to the set times, and that would give some efficiencies as opposed to just dealing with orders as they come in.

    • The only thing I didn't like about this thing was that sometimes hot meals were stone cold when I picked them up.

      • That would be a problem with the provider (assuming you collected within the pre-arranged times) rather than Meal Pal.
I've been pretty lucky with quality etc., but I did leave feedback in a couple of the next-day reviews (with one response).

      • Hmm… they always make/put it together when I get there.

        • In my experience, the lunches are all pre made ready for pick up at various times. Ergo hot food sat there until you arrived at your allotted time. Sure, that's not mealpal's fault, but it was a drawback of using the program. Obviously it will depend on where you go but every time I selected hot food, it was stone cold.

  • I subscribed 20 Meal plan. But i realized better with 12 meal plan. As i would miss out on public holiday because they do not operate on public holiday.
20 Meal plan meant i had to 'eat out' for the whole weekdays.
I only able to use one meal each day.
If i pick 12 meal plan, it would give me the flexibility to eat my own home made lunch if i wanted to.
I had to order between after 5pm till the next day morning 9.30am. Other time , i can't order or do anything.
