I think it's a flash deals, found it in their facebook post, valid for 19th - 25th April sessions. https://www.facebook.com/ReadingCinemasAuburn/posts/19694316…

I can't understand these online booking fees at cinemas. Use their computer, prepay, allow them to better manage their bookings and seat allocation, let them collect your personal information - that'll cost you. Just rock up unannounced and incognito, consume an employee's time, pay last minute - that's free. ???

    • They know movie goers want to secure tickets and choose seats in advance.

      • +11

nope its still a bullshit practice, online booking should be free

      • +6

Yes you secure tickets but you don't secure any seats though. It's a first come first serve at the cinema

      • +1

With reading there are no seat allocation, it's first come first serve as well

        • Unless you go Premium…you can then choose the seat(s) you want

collect your personal information - that'll cost you

Many people go through life believing that marketing doesn't affect them, and cause them to lose money, despite the mountains of evidence to the contrary.

This case is particularly bizarre seeing as it's simply inconvenient to use the computer compared to buying a ticket at the venue.

Does it take $1.50 to process an online booking? ACCC should look into it.

    • From memory, Event cinemas charge more

  • Probably be a small trial to see if $10 is the sweet spot, then will probably continue just as they have done in a few elsewhere.

It has been $10 for more than one year.

    • Yes, I believe this is the case too…

Auburn has been 10 dollars since a long time now. I have never paid more than 10 at Auburn Reading.

  • +1

Yeah it’s been $10 for the longest time although I don’t go to my Reading Cinemas since it’s located at a really seedy area (Dandenong). Sometimes they even have $5 movie promotions!

Went to Hoyts Carousel last Friday where all tickets were $10, is it because of all the reno there?

  • +2

$10 is their normal price.. no bargain here..unless you compare to Hoyts.
They’ve had this price for ~4 years now. And I reckon it would have been cheaper back then..

    No deal, always $10.

  • Please don’t go and watch any action/fighting movies here.
All the habibs get geed up after the movie and want to punch on with everyone.

  • A value packed combo deal???

Cinema pricing is like airport pricing.

It is where they make the most money from.

Do they really think it is value packed?
Probably mean that they are not ripping you off as much if bought separatly.

  • i thought it was always $10, im sure that is what i paid each time, same as rhodes

  • $9.50 for standard theater at Harbour Town Reading Cinemas.

  • not a deal
