Official XBox 360 Media Remote for $6.93, usually retails for ~$30 (not sure why I need this one, but that's quite cheap) [edit: I thought that was the universal version, but it's just the standard one, so not such a bargain :(]

The PS3/PS2 official Singstar microphones for $49.99, usually retails for ~$80
Just bought them for my kids to play with Singstar Wiggles!

  • Note: Overseas website & no retail packaging. Can't go wrong for less than 7 bucks I guess!

Thanks, I didn't realize this was in the UK, good prices though and no shipping cost… I guess for the remote controller, I'm happy to pay this price and not have a box

  • These guys are good but rather slow

    • +1

Is that just based on recent experiences possibly due to christmas mail. Not having a go, just saying in the past I've managed to get thing from them within about 10 days.

  • Hm remote would be good if you where stupid enough to take up that foxtel on xbox deal

It says for playback of dvd's but i assume it can be used for browsing the xbox and playing files over network?

    • I was wondering this too but thought for $7 I may as well find out for myself.

      • It's basically just a regular controller in the shape of a remote, that also has FF, RW, Play etc. buttons and only works via IR. So yeah, you can browse around the menu system and whatnot with it without a problem. You can technically play game with it, but it'd be hard as hell.

The only works via IR thing is annoying as hell, because you have to have decent line of sight with the IR receiver on the front.

        • I think that could be quite good to navigate through Guitar Hero/Rock Band/Lips and other music games when playing with a microphone

    • From a review, yes you can use it with the media center (that's pretty much what it's for)

"The Microsoft Xbox 360 Universal Media Remote (UMR, $29.99) is a decent step up from the weak Media Remote and a decent purchase if you're going to be using Xbox 360's digital media features regularly (Figure). What's sort of funny is how the UMR is an obvious superset of the Media Remote: The top 60 percent or so of the remote is identical to the Media Remote (Figure). Below that, the UMR adds buttons for Volume Up/Down, a dedicated TV button (for accessing My TV), Mute, Channel/Page Up/Down, and a complete alphanumeric keypad with dedicated Enter, Clear, and Return buttons.

The UMR also lights up in a pleasant green glow whenever you touch one of its buttons (Figure), which is nice when you're watching movies or TV shows in a darkened room. Because of this feature, the buttons on the UMR are kind of a translucent white color rather than the opaque and bold white you see on the Media Remote. And because the UMR is longer than the stubby Media Remote, it also fits more nicely in the hand, and though the layout of the buttons is inexplicably different from typical Media Center remote controls, I found it easy to adapt to the layout.

Overall, the UMR is a decent if not perfect remote. Like the Media Remote, it's missing dedicated buttons for Media Center environments like My TV, Recorded TV, and so on, and the bottom row of the alphanumeric keypad is too close to the bottom of the remote, making it difficult to hit those buttons when using the remote with a single hand."

  • Quick ebay search found that this is pretty regular price for these remotes.

Also can get some for cheap ebay hong kong

The one you are showing is the Standard Media Remote, the one sold at OzGameShop is the Universal Media Remote, I've updated the title

Difference betweent the two, here: http://www.winsupersite.com/article/product-review/xbox-360-…

Doing the same search on ebay on "XBox Universal Remote" will show prices in the $20-$30, and some in the $10 from Hong Kong, but these ones aren't the official ones

      Official one: http://www.winsupersite.com/content/content/127536/reviews/x…
      The $10 one: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Universal-Media-Remote-Microsoft-XBOX…

Try and spot the difference! Very similat, but look at the shape of the arrows around the "OK" button, or the "Rec" button that should be red…

Nope as the picture dictates.. you get the standard remote…not the universal …

The standard remote.. well is near useless… hence the cheap price…

The standard was also available only bundled (hence the OEM packaging)..

the Universal Media Remote was only avialable as retail…

        • It's not useless if you use WMC, so don't say it blindly.

    • its not genuine. whereas the ozgameshop has genuine and if you are too worried about pricing, this comes with batteries ;)

Oops my mistake, not a bargain then :(

I must have been dreaming, wonder why I thought that was the Universal one… you guys should "unlike" this one so it disappears in hell… shame on me :(

    • OK I neg'ed it for you. Shame on you lol

        Thanks, you're too kind ;)

  • This remote has been on this price for months.

Secondly, ozgameshop has a good reputation of good communication and delivery. I got my 2 games from them in 10 days. That is faster than the ebays shop in China.

Only few sellers on ebay sell original remotes.

If it is not mentioned genuine, then it is a fake. ( as two ebay remote links)

  • I think I saw GAME is selling them for $9 atm.

  • Any cheap PS3 remote? Can't get my PS3 to play blu-ray, don't know why.

  • I had this exact same remote when I had a 360 and used it for a media player. Great remote and a good deal!

    • Maybe the Universal version has too many buttons afterall :)

  • I have this remote and it works great for watching music & playing music. Have yet to have a problem with it after 2 years and the batteries last a long time. There's no need to have a controller plugged in or switched on - so it's very convenient having a remote like this.

  • I'm a bit skeptical about it really being the official remote. No packaging, looks exactly the same as the fake ones on ebay and for $7 delivered. I don't particularly believe it. And it's from the uk, why the hell does it have 'oz' on the domain?
