  • I wish they had a discount on the dual bundle.

    • You can get $100 back via Philips on the dual bundle at present - would work with Bing Lee $399 after cash back

      • Great. Thanks. I also found this one in the Ebay %20 off deal, which might bring it down to $299 after the cash back, which is fantastic price.

      • According to the Philips cashback website you linked to, the toothbrush/airfloss bundle (HX8391/02) on Amazon Au for $299 is also eligible for the $100 cashback.

So the $199 for Diamondclean toothbrush with airfloss makes this a pretty decent deal.

are you sure online store like Amazon is eligible for cash back?

        • Yes I emailed Philips and they confirmed Amazon Australia are eligible.

        • @ezza8: Thanks. Appreciated your info

        • @ezza8: That is great. Thanks.

  • Wow this an expensive toothbrush.

Serious question, what makes them better than a $100 Oral B?

    • It includes the matching Air Floss - which has a RRP of $189

      • OK thanks, have never heard of this.

It says "as effective as dental floss when used with mouthwash…." Seems expensive to me when you can just use normal floss.

        Must be good I guess.

        • Yeah agree - seems like a bit of a gimmick

        • A lot of people have problems using normal floss and just don't floss as a result.

These water/airflossers are great for them.

        • @c0balt:

          Gotchya

  • Can anyone who's owned both comment on whether this oscillation type brush is materially better than the rotary (Oral-B) alternative? I have only used the Oral-B rotary head kind.

EDIT: Urbancartel, great minds think alike!

I have found the oscillation head type to be great, recently changed from the rotary type when myer had a decent sale on the diamond clean.
There was a substantial jump in terms of how clean my mouth felt afterwards, but that one was like $80 and I was going from an oral b I bought at the supermarket for 20 ish bucks. I can't see how much better this one could be for an extra 300 dollars on top

      • +1

How is it an extra $300 on top? The whole package including the Air Floss is $299

        • sorry was referring to RRP rather than the deal itself; I was attempting to extricate the comparison from current bargains and compare the two types of brushes as they stand.
As far as the deal goes it seems pretty good, I'm not sure about the waterpick thing, I've heard mixed reviews about them but can't provide any first hand experience.
But it charges in a glass. A glass! That's awesome.

      • Thanks sklzthtklz

        • It’s personal opinion in regards to Oral b or the Philips, I have both the oral b 9000 and the Philips Diamondcare. I personally prefer the oral b as I feel it cleans better due to the movement of the head. My partner prefers the Philips as it’s gentle on her gums

    • I’ve had an expensive oral b and this Philips (which I bought on a whim from a Chinese website last year after seeing a bargain on ozb). I think the Philips is miles better. Feels like a better clean to me. Of course that’s just my opinion and I’m just one punter on the internet.

I loved the Philips so much I bought the same toothbrush for my brother and father in law for Xmas. They are now in love with their Philips as well.

I have owned both Tycho. Various Oral B brushes (30 odd years) and the Sonicare for one year. I prefer the Sonicare. The mouth feels cleaner, the small brush head is amazing and the Sonicare produces a lot more fluid when brushing. Listening to the dentist this helps significantly in the cleaning process. Comparatively the Oral B is like a chaff cutter. I also purchased the Airfloss for the simple reason I avoided flossing and hoped this would be a convenient solution. It does remove food bits, although I would not say better than manual flossing. The point is - if you avoid flossing (for whatever reason) the Airfloss is a great substitute. There are other electrical flossing solution, but I found this to be the less messy and the easiest to use.

  • Such horrible reviews for the Airflosser make me not that interested in the deal, does anyone have any insight? Maybe Philips changed their factory?

Would love this bundle but if one of the products is crap, then the value goes down.

  • I am seeing the price back up at 479
