Also bought it in a previous deal. Have to second the comment about viewing angles - the white background of a spreadsheet can have a distracting silvery grey tint to it at the edges. I have taken to using the dark theme in visual studio to avoid it. You don't notice it so much after a while.
Thanks for the comment boys, think I'll pass on this due to viewing angles
You weren't using the dark them already?
That's some weird sh!t you had going there!
LOL
I second the comments, it’s a great value for money monitor, slight issues with viewing it at angles and the wake up from power off is a little slow. Have had one at work and one at home for a couple months now and happy that I got them.
The edges of the screen distort colors a little if you are close due to the extreme angle - it could have done with being curved.
Can't see the monitor being curved ??
I found the philips to be quite good actually? Nice colours, maybe response time a bit slow.
Would this be a good monitor for editing photos on lightroom ? Complete monitor noobie here.
Look for an IPS monitor.

If anyone finds a decent deal on ups 27" don't hesitate to comment please.
Been looking the lasts few bs sales I'm over it
I bought a LG 27ud88 in the PUMP20 sale ~$800. Haven't received it yet, but good reviews online.
For Lightroom/Photoshop application, get a wide gamut IPS monitor. I would suggest Dell UP2716D, which is $799.20 delivered at the moment.
@justcallmeboss: Which shop did you buy from? I can't seem to find any
I've got this one: Viewsonic VA2719-2K. I wanted to buy from a store just in case of dead pixels etc, but the monitor has been perfect so far.
The monitor ticks a lot of boxes: 27"screen, IPS panel, QHD 1440p, and can apparently do 75 Hz if your video card supports it. Plus it's only $300. It would probably be worth a post on it's own, except that this is the normal price!

@Davie-1:
Can confirm, is a good monitor. Actually goes all the way up to 80 Hz, which's nice. Looking for a second monitor (to use vertical) atm and seriously considering just getting another.
sounds like a good deal for 144.
If it helps anyone, might not, I own a 27" AOC which I got for $220 I think - very well priced IMO. It is good, there are no significant issues - but certainly i'm not overly knowledgeable about monitors and tech. But I perhaps would spend a little bit more on a brand / model that has some extra features - dual HDMI, perhaps built in USB ports. My point is it is good, and very reasonably priced, but it is a bit bare bones compared with other models.
75Hz btw.
I bought this monitor from the previous deal, replacing a cheap 21.5" TN monitor. It was a massive leap, so it's hard not to be impressed with the upgrade. I game a lot and the 75hz really does make a difference from my experience, even though I do not own a AMD card to utilize the FreeSync.
I can't say much on viewing angles and colour correctness since it doesn't really bother me.
So many different type of monitor same resolution but actually not the same wide, so confused
What do you mean? All 2560x1440 resolution monitors should be 16:9 ratio. 3440x1440 screens are 21:9 ratio. The ratios are fixed according to the resolution.
How does this compare with the x34p?
Different resolution and aspect ratio, lower quality panel, freesync instead of G-sync, not curved, lower refresh rate.
3440x1440 34" displays are all much more expensive than 2560x1440 31.5/32" displays. The cheapest 3440x1440 34" displays start at $899.
Mates who already havd it, can you please tell me does it have vesa mounting points?
No VESA mounting point there. 32" monitor is a bit heavy for mounting on monitor arm, IMO.
LED monitors these days are not heavy. The specification say this monitor only weighs 7KG Net and 10.2KG Gross weight. That's no where near heavy for a monitor arm.
It does not. There's a bracket you can buy for it - AU$41 shipped at current exchange rate - https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-U2879VF-I2379VHE-Q3279VWF-Mon…
from the photo, I say no vesa mount.
Thanks OP. Grabbed 2 a little earlier today!
Anything better on offer for around the same money, but 27"?
How about ViewSonic VA2719-2K?
I've got this screen. Very happy so far.
Is that 60hz refresh and 5ms response ? Are there anything similar with 144hz?
Is that 60hz refresh and 5ms response ?
It's 75Hz refresh rate, and 5ms response time.
Are there anything similar with 144hz?
AOC AG322QCX, but at different price point.
Thanks for the feedback
Can anyone comment on if this is good enough (because it uses Free Sync rather than G-Sync) for gaming on an nVidia 1050 TI?
The Freesync range is extremely limited on this monitor, so it's not the biggest selling point anyway. If you use a nVidia card it will just act like a normal 75Hz QHD screen. I think it's a good combination of size and resolution for mid-range gaming (the PPI is good for games performance and the screen is huge, but text might not be totally crisp outside games).
But VA panels often have ghosting which will either drive you crazy or not. I game on a pretty good VA panel and it doesn't bother me at all, although in some situations the ghosting is very noticeable.
Lastly, depends on which games you're playing but your 1050 Ti might not be powerful enough to run QHD at good fps. It should be fine for older or easy to run games, but newer AAA games with high settings wont run very well.
I'm assuming with those AAA games, I can just turn the settings down to MED (or lower), right? Or would it be able to run at QHD or HD at a lower FPS (around 60fps)?
And what exactly is ghosting?
I'm not a expert on either… "Ghosting" may not be the correct technical term, it's got to do with some colours not changing as fast as others. I've seen it worst with dark object on lighter backgrounds, as you look around the darkness kinda smears. You can probably find videos or web pages about ghosting on VA monitors which explain it much better than I do.
As far as 1050 Ti performance goes I really don't know, and it also depends on the rest of your system. I suggest you check out some "2560x1440" aka "1440p" benchmarks for the games you're interested in. And of course you can drop the settings down to help with performance, although I would avoid dropping down to FHD on a native QHD panel. Everybody and every game is different as to whether performance is "good enough", and even if it does drop down to 30fps you might feel fine playing it.
I just know you're nowhere near being able to run high settings in all games and get 75fps in QHD. But you might be able to max out some games, and others might run perfectly fine with lower settings/fps. Plus since monitors usually last longer than people keep GPUs it should still be good when you upgrade next.
Edit: If you do check out benchmarks, remember they are usually run at max settings. So you can count on squeezing out more performance by dropping down the settings a bit.
@grb: Great, thanks for the in-depth response, grb!
I have a white one with an AMD RX480, using display port. I'm very happy with it.
Use for around 20% gaming and Ghosting doesn't bother me. Using it right now actually.
How common are stuck dead pixels with AOC? What's their stuck pixel warranty like? I have a single stuck green pixel and it's so annoying.
Just bought one for $276 with the code so pretty happy. Also got a Gigabyte AORUS RX 580 XTR 8GB at the same time with 20% off from PC Byte. Coming from a +10yo 22" LCD and a GTX 560 Ti this should be good for a while.
Let us know how the black snuffing and ghosting is like. I’ve seen YouTube videos on it and don’t wanna go for the deal (even with the medium settings on overdrive or something)
All I can say is…wow… This monitor is definitely a gem for the price. Just spent 2 hours on Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands and it was buttery smooth. Black is black and can't say that I've noticed any ghosting.
Do you have battlefield
This video shows pretty obvious lack of pixel response
@kehuehue: Sorry no BF1 atm.
Just received 2 x of these monitors. Running 4 monitors for the interim to test them out side by side against my 2 x Samsung SyncMaster BX2450.
They are, simply put, an amazing monitor. For the price its a no brainer, the size, picture and realestate on the screen at 1440p is super impressive.
If you are umming and arr'ing about buying one, do it. The whole ghosting/bleeding edges debate - can't say ive noticed anything with a few 4k (i know its only 1440p!) movies playing, quick game and general use, it didnt once occur to me this happening and to be honest i still can't notice it now that i am looking for it.
Stop thinking. Buy one (or 2). Thanks OP!
Hi.. just received mine… coming from a benq bl3200pt… daughter scratched the old one and i left smudge marks on it trying to remove scratches with a magic sponge.
Anyways… i dont feel like ive downgraded… blacks are slightly better on this.. viewing angles slightly worse… but for the money its a steal… im pretty fussy… and im not disappointed.
Bought it for $279 to replace the "legendary" (crap but cheap! SO CHEAP!) Phillips BDM3201F.
It's much better than the Philips which isn't a great compliment. It's my first VA panel but I imagine there are much better ones out there. I don't use it for gaming but apparently there is a lot of ghosting. Next to a high end IPS Acer X34 for still images and video it stands up pretty well … the colours look a bit washed out but the improved contrast and blacks of the VA almost makes up for it. The edges of the screen distort colors a little if you are close due to the extreme angle - it could have done with being curved.
It has one glaring bad issue: it takes many seconds, sometimes more than 18 seconds, to wake up from low power state. The time varies lot (but always happens when using DP and HDMI) and seems to be much longer when using DP and HDMI. If it was my main monitor it would drive me insane.
