I wouldn't call Stanley toolkits trade/pro quality, but undeniably these are a good toolkit, especially for the (sale price) money.

I've got one of these in each of my heavy vehicles and one at home for odd jobs and to take travelling etc. Needs the inner sleave foam thing kept in to stop the smaller sockets and bits coming out. The case plastic part of the hinges and the latches eventually break but it has 4 metal latches so overall the case lasts longer than most.

Despite using bars with my 100kg body weight on the end, I haven't broken any ratchets or cracked sockets etc, but have had broken screwdrivers due to abuse (by others!). Lacks deep/larger sockets for automotive (think there is another metric kit with deep sockets not on sale) but overall a great kit for general use and emergency situations on the road.

  • it’s sad how they add hex bits to spanner and socket sets to get the number of pieces up …

    • In the manufacturers' defence, I think the piece number is more an set identifier of the set rather than an indicator of it's value. I've used those hex bits many times with trims, door cards and dash components and the inclusion of them in the set can be quite handy.

    • Atleast it wasnt each ziptie

  • I thought this was a really great buy but alas its had no love on ebay lol

    • i took my stanley black chrome socket set back to super cheap , was unopened and swapped for the toolpro which was 40% off …… alas upon opening the toolpro it seems lots of the sockets are double hex not single hex ….. the stanley was all single hex which are stronger and less likely to slip / round on partially rounded nuts.
