Toshiba USB 2.0 Flash Drive 32GB $5.00 from Coles in Store Only

300

See this in Penrith Coles. Bought 2 for making Windows recovery drive for my 2 computers.
A bit slower drive as USB 2.0. Not as good as office works deals:

But it depends on what's you use it for and for my use it's enough and $5.00 each.
Has also other capacity on clearance. But they are not really a deal.

    LOL USB 2.0

    • It's almost like using a floppy disk now.

My car's entertainment system only recognizes USB 2.0. So I'll take that any day over your 3.0

Hangon i thought USB 3 flash drives were supposed to be backwards compatible to USB 2.

        • Tell that to NISSAN

        • The usb stick might be but the reader may not be. A sad reality in tech. Shouldn't happen but does.

USB 3 drives have both the 2.0 and 3.0 connectors, so should work. If you look at the USB device it'll have 4 pins for USB 2 and at the very back another 5 for USB 3, as shown in this wikipedia picture https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/75/Co…
I'd say that it's more likely that the USB device isn't formatted in a way the car's entertainment system recognises it (i.e. FAT32 vs NTFS)

Yes but the hardware/software doesn't have to be.

      LoL USB.

    Just FYI for others.

A '*' on your receipt indicates that it's on clearance. '%' means it's on sale. A clearance isn't available at every store so this deal will not be nationwide.

My USB's still use the Serial Port.

        • That's cute, mine uses parallel port

        • @Homr:

I'm a late adopter, I might try parallel in a few years.

        • Well it is a Serial port, Universal Serial Bus, I want the UPB.

  • Thats like the bad USB from Harvey's

  • Better buy some 3.0 8/16GB ones

    • why?

      • because it's about config

      • It's not the size that matters, it's how you use it ;)

        • Wrong, chicks did throughout and endurance

    Thanks, OP.

USB 2.0 is fine for nearly all that 32gb would require.

Anyone working between USB3/2 will be so happy to see this.

    Thanks

  • Thanks OP. It's a deal for those looking for usb 2.0 drives. Upvoted

      Username checks out.

  • You cant put a price on losing your data by using a crap brand

    • You wouldn't use flash drives for backup anyway, far less reliable than other media.
