Kogan.com Has No Phone Number

So I purchased something from Kogan.com (item withheld just in case they read this)

It arrived damaged and marked so I hopped on their website and asked for a replacement to be sent out.
Anyway blah blah blah, long story, (all is sorted now) I decided to phone them to try to talk to someone about it instead of emailing.

Turns out, they do not have a public phone number, all calls for support have been discontinued. Its email or the highway.
I tried asking the customer service rep for a number, our phone service has been discontinued, and noticed it in their facebook page in comments.

Just wondered what your thoughts about it are? I wouldn't care if I had to be on hold for ages. Just to know the option was there would be nice.
Your thoughts?

  • at least they won't get 'verbally' abused

    • True, in customer service staff cop it, people are so rude.

I feel like there is a big difference between typing and speaking.

  • They got live chat

  • Yup, its annoying AF. One time I placed a Kogan order, but the Paypal just chose any card from my wallet - ended up using a work visa. I placed it over the weekend and sent an email straightaway, by the time someone got back to me it was 'too late'. Managed to get it refunded by claiming consumers had a right to choose the manner of payment lol

  • If you're with Optus, they also don't have phone options for customer service

  • Hmm you are right. They used to have a telephone number before.I had spoken to them via phone around 6 months back.Looks they decided its too much of an expense for them…………..

  • If you're with Optus, they also don't have phone options for customer service

Are you sure? How long has this been the case? I've talked to Optus on the phone lots of times, as recently as earlier this year. I've called different times about Optus NBN, Optus Mobiles, and Optus TV.

    • Since early this year from my experience. They have phone support for business customers. But not for household/individual accounts.

Believe me, I’ve tried to find a number to call. I found it google searching, but even if I call it, it does not give me the option to talk to a person

      • Thats insane, so many companies try to hide there numbers too, its the worst

      • I called Optus on 13-39-37 in late January this year and eventually got through to a real person. I also contacted them about a billing issue last month and spoke to someone at an Asian call center.

  • Kogan no longer handles Emails either i received this message the other day after sending an Email "Let us take this opportunity to advise you that Kogan Mobile Care will no longer provide email support for any new enquiries as of Monday 2nd April, 2018. Don’t worry though as we will make sure your email received today is responded to!"

    • That sounds like an April Fool joke.

      • Sorry i should have said Kogan Mobile no longer handles emails i am not sure about the other divisions. But at least Kogan Mobile still takes calls "Alternatively, you can phone our Kogan Mobile Care team on 1300 056 426 or 12612 if calling directly from your Kogan mobile service"

  • I find this site useful in these cases. http://customercarecontacts.com/contact-of-kogan-customer-se…

I had to track down a dodgy clothing company last year, boy did she get a surprise when I rang her >.<
