Strange, one of the items on the discounted page (chain vice grips) are discounted to $7.50 but when added to cart show as full price ($15.00). http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/Product/ToolPro-Locking-Cha…

    • Yep. I get the same thing when adding the pliers!

      • Strange.. I checked and it did the same for me. It makes me want to double check all previous Supercheap discounted purchases.

      • Same. I got their big extra long spanner set and a set of ratcheting ones. Tried to add pliers and they came up at full price. Even a plier/mini screwdriver combo was showing as full in cart.

Those grips are rubbish - single-use tool. Needed one to lock the crank in place when replacing Subaru timing belt.

Got a refund so that was fine though!

    • +2

They usually run out of stock quickly in store so may as well order them and if you change your mind, return them for a refund

Not sure about the $24.97 the 7 piece stubby set has been $12.48 on their Ebay store for a couple of months.

Also Bunnings has this for $8.50: https://www.bunnings.com.au/craftright-7-piece-stubby-spanne…

    • Craftright are some of the most rubbish tools available - not much better than buying tools from a $2 shop.

I bought a 'roll' of ToolPro combination spanners for someone. They seemed at least to be of a higher quality with a highly polished finish.

And SCA's own brand is either the same as, or only slightly better than Craftright.

Wow, both 14 and 17mm sizes!

Usually at least one of these is missing from 5-7 piece spanner sets, and usually there's a 15mm in there. Genuinely interested if anybody here has EVER encountered a 15mm nut or bolt in their life as I've not in my 15 years of pulling shit apart!

    Great deal, thanks OP!

    • +1

Lots of times…. Probably more than the likes of 14 and 18mm to be honest.

      • +1

I've never seen an 18mm nut or bolt. But 14s are super common on Toyota vehicles.

        • 18mm is common on 'mercan cars. Chrysler uses them in the suspension components.

        • I work on trains for a living, most things we change out are M12 bolts, and they're ALL 18mm bolts, 19mm nyloc nuts.

      • +1

Fair enough! In the Subaru world you can do almost anything with a 14 and 17 :)

        • +1

10, 14, 17mm on Toyotas and its always th 10mm socket goes walkabout lol

        • +1

          @Neilgero: and 12mm

    • They're common on certain European vehicles especially.

    • +1

bicycle pedals use 15mm a lot.

      • Hah I'll have to check, I need to replace mine!

    • Wheel nuts on kids bikes are usually 15mm. Bike pedals usually take a narrow 15mm open ended spanner to remove. I've not seem them on cars in my limited experience.

  • went with the delivery option , spent $180 and got ratchet sets etc which are 1/2 price, will become the set I leave in the car and the better ones stay in the garage.

  • Was going to get jumbo spanner set for $25 ,
but metric combo set has them all plus some more missing sizes and lots more for $40.

Also locking pliers at $5 ring up for $2 instore ,
$3 long nose snips ,weren't on the system so discounted for $1.50.

perfect, needed some flared spanners, ty op

  • Wonder if this is clearance or Supercheap are going into importing larger volume and selling cheap things with their own brand and we will see these deal more often ?

Whooo china getting ready to dump stuff on us if USA enter trade war ….. go trumpy …. tools will be cheap but china will buy up all our beef and bacon if they stop buying from USA, no more cheap beef 'n' bacon burgers for us …..

Soya beans …. who eats those anyway that also buys tools, if cg=hina doesnt buy soy beans from USA and us instead is that a bad thing ?

  • They are just styling things differently.
You can see it on the shelf with the pliers.
Plainer looking black and red handles $5 ?
flashy looking black and red with stripe new design with toolpro name embossed $12.

  • The ratchet spanner sets will come in handy. Thanks OP

  • If you want an additional $5 off. Buy $5 membership im store, activate card online, then card gives you $10 credit.
It usually took me about 15 minutes for activation to go through and $10 credit applied.
If ever any issues, called support number on card, and they were more than happy to just simply and easily apply to $10 credit instantly .

The ratchet spanners seem to be getting pretty good reviews and are a pretty good price.
I doubt they will hang with SnapOn / BluePoint / ect but for the price and with a lifetime warranty they look pretty decent.

Non flex head $23.98 a set, down from $59.97

    • Can confirm they are excellent for the price. Had to change endlinks this morning and used a set of ratchet spanners I bought off this sale. 10/10 best thing I've bought in a while. Made the job so much easier as there wasn't a lot of room to work.

  • Any idea when the sale ends?

    • none in tassie anyways as usual…

    • tomorrow

Thanks! I just brought the flexhead set online to match my existing ToolPro ratchet set.

  • SCA Taringa, Bris is closing down in 2 weeks, so many other things discounted

  • All pliers ect scanning cheap on plu code ,
then Register doubles the price when purchase finalized in store.
You have to make them correct the price manually.

  • Thanks Gents - picked up some stubby spanners and some flex head ratchet spanners ;)

  • They've got to be kidding… An online sale that closed before midnight!

Apparently staff have been told they have heaps more coming to discount,
"Warehouses full" , was the comment , so watch out.
Sca 2.5 amp chargers are half price at $32.50 until Tuesday.

  • The Toolpro Spanner Set - Stubby, Metric is now a $1.98 cheaper @ $8.00 and the ToolPro Spanner Set - FlexHead, Metric, 7 Piece is now $6.87 cheaper @ $21.00, many other Toolpro tools are now cheaper than when they were over 50% off.

    What the @%*^?

  • Stubbie metric is now $25 while stubbie imperial is $8.

They were having problems with their system as far as whether or not the amount of the price reduction was the price $8 or whether it should be reduced by $8, either way more bargains.
    Yay for 4/5/7 tech support.

  • Just bought 2x 7 piece metric rachet spaners $19 each , I reckon that's cheap. Good presents

  • 11 piece long metric now $22 ipaid 25 yesterday spewing
12 piece metric rachet now $30 yesterday 37

    • If U used a club card U should get the difference back.

      • I do have one but didn't enter it online order, I will mention at shop when I pickup but don't want to stress to much for 3 bucks thanks
