FAQ

Where do I enter the coupon code?

When you click "Proceed to Checkout" button, it'd say below the payment method "Have Coupon?"
It's showing me higher AUD price than mentioned in the title

Choose USD as your currency from top left hand corner. Don't select AUD, always choose to pay in USD, it will work out cheaper even after your credit card conversion fees. Also read the below.
How do I ensure I get the cheapest AUD price possible

To avoid higher currency conversion rates and to get cheapest price from these Chinese websites, you should get a credit card that charges zero currency conversion fees. 28Degrees, Bankwest Zero, Coles Mastercard are generally popular. Irrespective of what credit card you use, always choose to pay in USD on these Chinese websites, (Go back to main page, Choose "USD" from top left hand corner). Additionally set your Paypal so it "bills you in the currency on Seller's Invoice". To set your PayPal account this way permanently, follow the steps shown in these snapshots(paypal-community.com) [Highly recommended]

THANKS to SvenAlterden, LITB70MAI02 knocks off another $6USD +/-. OOPS - The price was lower than cost after applying code, code is now gone :'(*

Here is a video I took with this camera. Video quality seems pretty poor compared to the G1W but it does seem more reliable.

    • +2

      what you mean more reliable?

    • Something must be wrong with your camera step. It's supposed to be 1080p but the video looks nowhere near that. Can barely read the big green road sign let alone a number plate. Is the camera set on 1080p? Are you using a fast micro SD card?

      • Mine is the same as the video posted. Picture quality is not as good as a viofo a119s

      • +1

The quality is not great but if you can't read that sign then you need better glasses or get your eyes checked. I don't have perfect vision and I can still read it.

        • "The quality is not great but if you can't read that sign then you need better glasses or get your eyes checked."

Yes, I agree, I just looked at it again. I actually meany the white sign and the yellow sign a bit further on. For some reason the big green sign was stuck in my mind when I wrote that.

"Video quality seems pretty poor compared to the G1W but it does seem more reliable."

I guess the really big reliability test won't come until the next Australian summer.

    • Thanks for that. Quality looks pretty bad, I guess a case of - you get what you pay for.

    • Have one, never installed it, but video quality is far better than that… Something is wrong there..

    • Pretty crap music…

      • Only three things are certain in life, Death, Taxes, and People Listening To Crap Music.

    • If this is true for this dashcam, then it is pretty useless as you can’t see number plates at all.

    • +1
      • Bonus points for having your bass up so high the camera shakes

Hahaha i thought I recognized your username from pogo. Looked at the video, Wyoming represent!

        • @pacsman I can't beleive I'm that famous ;)

  • I am waiting for the english version supposedly due end of March, read about it here

    https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/70mai-smartest-dash-cam-f…

    • I received mine just week. Yet to install it. initial test , the voice commands are in english.

      • Do let us know what you impressions of it are please. It looks interesting but I don't see any sign of a dual camera model. It's funny that they chose to include on the startup website such user comments as "As for the picture quality, it's quite good" (by Tech4all).

Also interesting that so few of the "perks" (to buy now) have been taken up.

        • +1

I''l try link to some video this weekend. It does record video in 1 min increments. ie each video file is 1 min long.
I want to install it so that the cable is hardly visible.

      • How much you pay?

        • $49.00 USD with postage to Aus

      • Surely a firmware flash would fix this?

        • dont worry the english text throughout the indiegogo page is absolutely terrible chinglish. Go read for yourself, google translate would have done a better job.

        • +1

unlikely that it would be a simple/hacked/firmware flash.

english version rom storage is 128mb vs 64mb on the chinese model.
the speech engine for the english one is larger.
          nuance vs alspeech.

I just purchased one for 21.66USD using the coupon “LITB70MAI02”

    https://imgur.com/a/IMf7r

    • Estimate delivery? 1-2 months?

    • Cheers for the code. Just bought another 2 units. Code is good for one per account. Mods or op should update this post to include code.

      • Just bought another 2 units.

Why did you buy another two? Are you happy with the video quality from your first one? The video that others are getting looks really disappointing.

        • So far have bought3 cams for me and family, 5 for friends. Now other friends want one. Very happy with quality. Especially for the price.

        • @Sober Thoughts:

That's interesting. How does the quality compare to the video posted by "No" in the first comment of this post?

        • @jdr: I would say the video posted by "No" would have lost some quality during the upload. It is still a fair representation of what this dash cam displays. There are others that display higher quality but for the money this does the job fine.

    • Thank you!

    • Thanks, great price!

    • Thanks for the code!! Just bought 1 with it.

….ohhhh, i need report this. this is a huge price error

      • It's only $3 under global buy price (@ >1000 units), it isn't that far below price.

Your team knocked the code out.

        • -3

unfortunately our cost price for now is close to 28USD, so can't afford such lower price. sorry mate, need update the price in title again

        • @MiniInTheBox:

Other suppliers have it at $20 cost price. makes no sense

        • +2

@jared444: plus shipping cost? if so feel free to share any deal like that. this item sold on China is 189 CNY, if you find any supplier can offer $20USD/125CNY, i would want to buy 1000+ :)

        • @MiniInTheBox:

          Cost price, not retail price.

Makes claim and doesn't back it up….

        • @Clear:

          Backup I made a claim that's false.

      • Why would you do that. Coupon doesnt work..

        • +1

The coupon was a $6 off coupon for prices when they were $35 USD. We've got a flash deal running where they brought their base price down, the base price was close to cost.

The $6 coupon drops it below cost unfortunately and significantly.

  • 10-27 days for my above post or 10 days expedited shipping for an extra $5.70usd

  • New to all these. At this price what does it lack compared to this one: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/369625 ?

    • +1

It has a screen and the video is perhaps a little better. Also the software on the phone is custom installed on android. That one probably has a better app. Dont see the point paying so much unless you're worried about not knowing whether the camera is recording.

      • The LED on this camera lets you know its recording … :)

        • It does but it's on the wrong side as it's designed for countries with the steering wheel on the left.

  • Thanks OP. Ordered one for testing.

  • Coupon doesn't work. Pricing error apparently

  • Thanks

  • Shame. Waited too long, would've grabbed one if the code still worked

  • Thanks for the code!! Just bought 1 with it.

Just a warning about these, honestly you will be disappointed, I got mine a few months ago after another site had a similar deal on Ozbargin.

You can't just plug this in and use it like any normal DashCam you have to download an app from the iStore, go through an annoying email registration then finally if you are lucky you can get it working. You have to connect to the Cam using wi-fi via your phone to change the default settings and by the way it's always in Chinese you cant turn it off it's very annoying, I tried 2 phones and had no luck getting a connection so I gave up honestly it not worth the trouble. I have no idea why the manufacturer made it so complicated if you are thinking of buying one don't waste your money.

    • Got one myself and thought it was a super simple setup. I'm on android and I know iphone users are slightly technically challenged so that could explain it.

You'd want the app either way to get the most out of it and in my experience works great.

Only downside as you mention is the chinese voice over which you cant turn off but you can turn the volume all the way down so its pretty unnoticeable. Only get it for a second on startup and quality is amazing.

      Recommend it to anyone.

      • Technically Challenged how rude sir, it's my opinion that they are rubbish.

I bought this 3-4 months ago.

  • Price now changed to $49.49 aud, just got in 30 secs before the price change

    • Still shows AU$38.34 for me…………

  • Can you use two in the same car (front and back) given that you need to use a wifi enabled app to control it?

    • +1

yes the app allows you to connect multiple 70mais.

just rename them 'corolla-front' 'corolla-back' or Porsche or whatever your ride is…

  • No gps would pay double if it did.

  • So it says 70 mins does it mean it cycles every 70 mins or does it mean it only last 70 mins per trip?

    • I have just spent 10 minutes googling why there is a time reference in the title and have no idea. Tricky one.

      • +2

Bad translation, that's all. It's supposed to be 70MP/hr i think.

        • Nice. All i got was 'mai' translates to a surname.

        • 70MB you mean?

    • OzBargain's name for it. Actual real name is 70mai.
