Really feels like all the Assassin's Creed games will eventually be Free With Gold.

Never cared enough about The Witness to pay for it, but after all the press it got, I'll gladly give it a go for free.
Syndicate could be cool, can't remember the last time I paid for an AC game though, not that I'm complaining.
Cars will be nice for the daughter. Every time we're in EB she grabs the Cars 3 case, but that shit is too expensive atm.
Dead Space 2 is old and has been on Plus before and DS1 would have made more sense but (profanity) it, I never finished it anyway.

All in all, at least for me personally, much better month than compared to Plus… as usual. :'(

    • I think dead space 1 was a games with gold title over 12 months ago

That makes sense then, before mid-2016 when I got mine, I was still half on the "I hate you for E3 2013" bandwagon but they did such a good 180 with, well, everything, I couldn't hold out any longer.

Suppose either way if I feel like burning through them in order I could pick up an old BC copy (thank you baby Jebus for BC) for a couple bucks, or get a quick sub to EA Access again.

  • Bah! I bought Syndicate on sale about a year ago and never got around to playing it :(

The Witness is bloody fantastic. Makes you feel like a goddamn genius when you figure out some of those puzzles :D

Then makes you feel like an idiot when you reach the point where you can't solve any more and give up, leaving it unfinished :( You could probably cheat and just look it up on YouTube or something, but that would defeat the point of the game :P

Dead Space 2 while not quite as good as the original, is still worth playing. Great Horror game. Just dont both with the 3rd game.

    • I actually would say the opposite, dead space 2 was absolute drivel but dead space 3 had a few redeeming qualities.

  • Sorry, newb here: so if I get a one month Xbox Live Gold membership, I can download these to my Xbox during april, and then keep them once my Gold lapses?

I'm tempted by The Witness. Would probably prefer it on the Switch, but have an unused Xbox lying around, so The Witness would be a good as an excuse as any!

You need an active sub to play any of the Xbox One titles.
The 360 games, once you download them, they are yours to keep, regardless of your subscription.

      • When I got the free trial xbox gold membership I noticed that I wasnt able to get the free xbox 360 games, seems they deny access if you are just using a free trial account.

        • +1

If its anything less than the 1 month trial, it wont work.

        • @DKPARTY: Funny how stuff like this is all still a bit sloppily handled on the store after having years to iron out the issues, like there doesn't appear to be any indicator when you attempt to get the free Xbox 360 game on Xbox one free gold trial, just shows you a price and doesn't say why you don't have access to the freebie.

You'll need a recurring Gold membership to play them, as well as any games you buy with discounted Gold prices.

      • Wow… you sure about that second statement regarding the ones you bought, that seems pretty harsh.

        • No. You don't lose access to any games purchased. Only the Xbox One games obtained via Games with Gold.

        • @silverrat23: That makes more sense as couldn't find any info to back up isaacgunther's secondary comment above.

That person doesn't know what they're talking about, spewing shit really.

    • +1

No, as you only get to keep the 360 games after your sub finishes.

    • Cheers guys.

Just to confirm: do you actually lose the Xbox One games if your subscription finishes? Or do you just lose access to them while you don't have Gold?

eg. If I get Gold for 1 month or 3 months, and then stop Gold, if I later get Gold again, will The Witness be available for me to play?

      • +1

Or do you just lose access to them while you don't have Gold?

That one. You lose access to Xbox One games when the subscription ends. If you subscribe again, you'll gain access again. (For Xbox 360 games, you'll keep and have access to them even after the subscription's ended).

eg. If I get Gold for 1 month or 3 months, and then stop Gold, if I later get Gold again, will The Witness be available for me to play?

        Yes.

  • finally a pretty good selection… might re-sub my gold tonight, for these plus blood dragon… also gotten pretty addicted to PUBG on my phone, wouldn't mind giving it a go on xbox..

    • be warned PUBG on xbox will probably run worse than what you experience on mobile.

  • Cool, can sell my physical copy of Dead Space 2 now.

And yet pc slaves claim that console gaming is a rip off.

  • The Witness took me by surprise & one of my top games from last year.
