Battlefront 2 continues to plummet, hilarious! Seems they can't even give them away!

Some pretty great deals on other games, if you can find stock.

Bf2 has been in the 30's before. When it hits $10-$15 I'll pull the trigger. U listening EA?

      • +14

        not even for free.
Not going to show any support for that business model

        • -1

I hate pay to win too. Hasn't EA dropped it now (still around for cosmetic changes only).

          @CJ31:

remember the old days when you just bought a game and played it……i feel so old

        • @CJ31: I have been playing on pc since day 1 and it has never been pay to win. It was pulled just before launch. It is a massive utterly false misconception that we escaped but that most who dont play dont realize. That said the random crap crate system sucked big time and has only now been changed. Egen so….many flaws, and EA are knobs. But i still find it fun.

10-15 only coz SW fan boy. Would never spend in microtransactions.

          EA can stick it

          @Xizor:

They pulled the ability to buy crystals 3 hours in to the early access for Deluxe Trooper Edition players. Some people still bought them.

        • @Xizor: Disney and EA had a pay to win system in all the beta's of the game. It was only removed because the game was going to be classed as gambling in some countries and because of the public outcry. I won’t be supporting this game with the fact they wanted kids to gamble in the game to get loot to get an advantage over other players. https://www.google.com.au/search?q=battlefront+2+pay+to+win I have not played the game but some people are still saying it still has some pay to win elements around the different versions of the game.

        • +1

Yeah i get all that just saying its never been a factor in actual gameplay… since it didnt happen. Or if it did for like 3hrs. Everyone harps on about paying to win but it didnt happen, ive been playing every week, there ain't nobody paying to win carving up. I would be the first to quit if there was. The ACTUAL Issues in gameplay have been the dumb crate system, cheaters, lack of server browser, lack of team balancing, most star cards being giving borderline useless improvements, few hero star cards like for palp being over the top, and EA nerfing stuff randomly. Plenty of stuff to criticize the game itself, but the micro transactions since they havent been in havent been a factor. Hate on EA for micro transactions in general for sure but not the game is my point.

        • @Colver: hey although it's late in the games life, check out the 4th link in your google search

          https://www.extremetech.com/gaming/266264-ea-admits-defeat-u…

The last of the pay to win mechanics have been removed (e.g. loot crate rewards are now cosmetic only)

@Xizor said it best ^ anyway. The game was never as 'pay to win' as people perceive it to be.

@R-Man: Disney was getting a bad rep, of course the PR team didn’t want Disney known for making games that got classed as gambling. This was only after the public outcry, before that Disney was more then happy to have it in the game. Disney is the licence holder, they would have had to approved the gambling aspects of the game before the betas got release. If it was not for the public Disney would have released a game that involved gambling and pushed it towards children.

Good to hear they have removed all aspects of the play to win system (or nearly all of them). They tried and failed. Hopefully this is a lesson both EA and Disney.

The game was ‘pay to win’ as people described it but it was removed when they started getting a bad rep and people starting cancelling the pre-orders!

        • @ugoagogo:

blows my mind how crap android/iOS games get away with it. Just milking people a few $ at a time until they have paid more than full blown games.

        • @ugoagogo: I felt like that reading the latest Battlefront patch notes. They say:

Loot crates will now contain cosmetic items only. Now you can level up and upgrade your classes just by playing them and getting kills and XP!

wwwwwow thats revolutionary EA. Rewarding players with upgrades based on how much they play the game, instead of leaving it to gambler's luck in loot crates?! Such innovation. Such creativity. So inspirational.

        • @ugoagogo:

I think that is why I am getting into retro gaming.

Currently playing on my Sega master system.

  • Been waiting for payback for a while

A Way Out looks like a stunning game to buy.

    • Great game, I loved the co-op concept. I wished the game was longer though…

    • +1

Yeah it does. I wish that game got more attention. Love the concept and super happy that someone still cares about split screen.

    • +1

yea but I need to make a friend first though :-(

    • +1

bought this game day one to co-op with my gf splitscreen, I felt like these types of games are rare nowadays so we should support the devs!

      • Can you co-op online with randoms or would you be missing part of the experience?

Just in case you can't be bothered searching yourself, here are all the links to the games mentioned in this post. Enjoy :)

    • Great effort, kudos

    • huh, destiny 2 $6 cheaper than it says in the OP

    • I'm not familiar with any of these except FIFA. Are any worth getting?

  • +2

Ghost Recon Wildlands Gold Edition is $37 at the moment on Xbox Live. May be worth considering if you don’t mind Digital as getting all the DLC for $12 extra is pretty reasonable.

    • The DLC is pretty crap imho. I was super excited about the introduction of a crossbow… but it can only be used in the DLC. They are essentially standalone mini-games.

  • +1

Damn why can't they have Forza 7 on sale?

  • Any word on ps4 console sales?

  • Nice, picked up BF2 now that they've rethought the progression system. $35 for a full game and no further DLC costs seems fair to me.

Was really up happy with BF1 and even more disappointed with the way they had initially gone with BF2. Hope this works out.
