  • I'm guessing airfryer price is backwards? I

    • Sorry just fixed it

  • Hi,

Looking at all your product descriptions these are boxed damaged goods (all have "Note: Item may suffer carton damage. No warranty.").

Please add that to your description above to make people aware.

    • +1

      Done

      • So what does that mean? I presume the device will still have the standard warranty from the manufacturer? I read that as the boxes may be damaged and not the goods. Can that please be clarified? Thanks

  • This might not have a warranty, but Australian Consumer Law guarantees still apply.

    • Correct.

      • So i'm guessing you're going to honour a 12 months Australian warranty on this if Australian Consumer Law applies. No hold on it's declared as only 6 months Boxlots warranty and no manufacturers warranty. Doesn't sound like Australian Consumer Law is applying on this at all. What the rep said makes no sense at all.

        • I’ve had to refer this for more advice. Not my area of expertise. Will revert back with whatever we are told is legally required.

        • In fairness, the Australian Consumer Law does not have a specific timeframe, it simply states a "reasonable period of time", when the price and item description is considered.

        • @cyssero: thanks. I still haven’t had a response from mgmt. we’ve said 6 months as a rule on other products and it’s never been an issue

  • this is normal price @ TGG

    • Doesnt include delivery, in-store only.

    • Sorry there was a briefing error at my end, the deal is actually 20% Off - see code and edit above. This has been corrected.

  • Same as this and not box damaged? Plus you can use Cash Rewards?

  • Seriously are these a deal? Same price as The Good Guys and no box damaged and with warranty

lol - come on Boxlots. You lured us in with the amazing Bosch blue deal some months ago, you can't give us crappy deals without doing your homework first on Ozbargain.

    • Ahhhhh! I know. We've done our research but the somewhere there has been a miscommunication and I'm trying to fix it. See discount code above, obviously a critical part to the deal that was missed in my brief.

Stating no warranty on products you claim to only have carton damage really doesn't bode well for consumer confidence. It just oozes poor business practises.

While Consumer Law will protect the customers in the end regardless, it makes little sense for you to make this claim other than in hope that some buyers will put any claims in the "too hard" basket.

    • +1

I think its better to disclose that it up front. We have always rectified customer issues directly and it never needs to go to warranty claim. We try to keep our customers happy, and by telling them this up front they know to come back to us with any issues and not get the run around elsewhere.

      • So you do provide 12 months warranty? Just not 12 months manufacturers warranty?

If so, this should be stated. "12 months warranty from Boxlots" reads much better than "no warranty" and should bring in a lot more interest.

        • Thanks.

        • @Wakko:

Thanks for updating your listing. Removing my neg :)

        • @androo: Thanks. Appreciate all the feedback, and really did a lot of research before pricing etc but OzBargain should really have a panel of deal testers before deal posting cause you guys are just on top of it… Would sure help us out to get it right first time…

        • +1

@androo: Shouldn't have. It's listed as 6 months warranty not 12 as discussed.

        • +1

The web page states 6 months Boxlots warranty. No manufacturer warranty. This has grey import stock or written off damaged stock (wrecked product packaging stock written off from insurance that the retailer will not warrant) written all over it. Either that it was some damaged stock written off by the manufacturer through insurance that some how got in the hands of this store.

  • +2

OP why is the Boxlots warranty only 6 months if only the carton is damaged?

    • +2

It's easy to explain. It's probably a grey import or damaged stock (such as the product packaging damaged) written off through insurance which the manufacturer won't touch. That's the only reason why i can explain why it has no manufacturer warranty.

So Boxlots should come clean with this is this a grey import stock?. I thought if so it would have to be declared as so in this thread description?. And a reason being you generally can't price match at Australian retailers if it's a grey import which this seems to be obviously is (no manufacturer warranty is a dead giveaway).

  • +1

Negging due to major issue with vendor. Five hours after inquiry, Associated OP still has not explained why the Boxlots warranty for new undamaged goods (except carton) is only 6 months.

    • +1

My current theory is that it's a pallet load of where some of the stock is damaged cardboard carton package stock (probably damaged by a forklift or some thing) which the whole pallet load of stock was written off through insurance that some how got in the hands of a certain shop and being on sold. I don't think the manufacturer will touch that for warranty. But yeah that's my guess.

      • That may be so, but someone at Boxlots decided to support these new products for only 6 months and it shouldn't take them 28 hours to answer a simple question.

  • The Tefal optigrill+xl looks awesome when I saw it in store.

Is the 20% off code still working?

After the discount it's less than half the price than at the Good Guys
