I tried the honey and its not very good. Overly sweet for my tasting.

    • You sir are correct, is it full off filler/sweeteners?

        • +1

I haven’t seen one honey label that admits it’s not 100% honey, but the facts don’t check out. Not enough bees To produce real honey for all the demand, fillers are used for honey, which ones? Who knows, but if it’s cheap, it’s not likely to be 100% honey

        • -1

@cloudy: apparently you can put up to 10% glucose in honey before you can't call it "pure" any more.

        • @Nadder:

If we can let oil by product be used as building materials In spite of rules governing building materials, the rules around honey I doubt will be policed.

That sounds like misinformation. Could you please cite a source which states it's OK to add 10% glucose to honey in Australia?

        • +4

@CocaKoala: You're right! Spreading misinformation since probably when I was born.

Must have been an old wives tale I got told. According to the ACCC anything labelled as honey must be entirely produced by honey bees:

          https://www.accc.gov.au/media-release/accc-acts-on-hi-honey-…

Not to say dodgy companies might not do it anyway, but technically they're not supposed to.

The size of the wheels on the foldable wheelchair is similar to castors on wheelie walkers. I would avoid the use of the wheelchair on unpaved surfaces (e.g. gravel footpath on the product photo) as the chair will not travel well on those surfaces not to mention that it will be extremely uncomfortable to the use of the wheelchair.

    • You're not kidding

    • It's not even really a normal wheelchair, anyone on it can't move.

    • Well, she certainly looks happy. Don't know if it was for the ad money she got or she zoned out from too much shake.

  • Mitre saw - good? pro / con please if possible

    • +2

It's small, although it should still just be able to cut through a 70mm thick stud so it will be sufficient for a lot of applications. I would go for a sliding mitre saw personally because it allows longer cuts to be made at a constant depths that will help you to create various types of lap joints or dado joints but you do pay more money for a sliding saw and they do require more bench space due to the rails. At only one year, the warranty is very short compared to most Aldi power tools.

BTW, the blade that came with Aldi's 210mm 18v sliding mitre saw was excellent but I don't know if this one would be the same.

    • Wait & see what Bunnings offer. At least you get a swap over warranty on their Ozito ones.

100% Australian honey then calling it Panda Honey is a strange choice? Especially now with fake/diluted Chinese honey flooding the market.

    • Could be an Asian Australian family that started it.

      • +2

Could be that it's a real panda apiarist.

    • wow. can you import honey into Australia????

      • Just not from NZ… Go figure

  • Panda can't spell beekeepers correctly.

The Panda honey is from SA. I call their phone number that says "The number you have called is not connected".

Panda —-> China. No i dont think there is a connection at all. :) i mean Panda is what represents Australia.
They have removed the contact number from their website and you can only email them queries.
Does the government do anything to protect its local markets and people?

  • Those spice sets don't seem very good value, just putting that out there.

    • +1

      was thinking the same thing

    • +3

Really? 30 spices for $20. Oh wait. It's only 10 spices. $2 isn't really that good. Better off buying your own containers and getting Hoyts.

      • Spices are valuable, especially when you sell them in small amounts in minature jars.

  • +1

The wheel chair could be useful to those that bought a unicycle from a few weeks back!

  • This must be one of the oddest collections of items for sale… It's like a Woolies/Coles + Bunnings + ??? (wheelchair shop?) = Aldi.
