Xiaomi Mijia Sensor Night Light $8.99USD (~ $11.66AUD) @ GearBest

2370
MIIRSQ

Ok, so i have a code for these once again….GB have been quite stingy with their pricing this year…I've asked for reasoning behind this and they said it was simply a "change of strategy". Idk if it's working for them, because the great deals from yesteryear are no longer…

Anyway, ya'll should know all the info about these now….night sensor lights…battery operated. Neggers will be like 'USB ones are better" but whatevs, these look much better with that halo effect and all.

as a note, I have 6 down my hallway put in between oct and jan, just changed my 1st one recently using the IKEA rechargables (which are also at a very good price but max 4pp in-store).

this deal was requested by an OzB user, so i hope they get one from it.

      • Awesome mate, thanks.

These arent bright at all, it was a waste of money for me personally. Or maybe i got a crappy one. YMMV

If you want it bright… turn the light on :)

But seriously what did you expect? Coming from a bright room into dark room, will never be bright, but if you get up during the night it is more than adequate. I have another one which is a lot brighter, but don't like it. It's like a small torch.

      • Didnt want to turn the light on to wake up my mrs and i am talking about night time when all other lights are turned off. The light is very faint, cant see much. Like i said i might have got a crappy one

        • No one sees things the same, so it might be either. How big is your room? If too big, then just have it at the exit. They are faint, kind of reminds me of old oil lamps, but sufficient to see the way.

        • @bargainparker:
          Its actually inside the wardrobe.

        • @bghunter:

Well, that is a tricky situation then :)

Wouldn't say it is good for a wardrobe.

They're selling a "Lucky Bag with Xiaomi Night Light" for a couple of dollars extra (AU$13.09). I guess it must contain this light plus a bunch of other junk?

  • Cheers OP, grabbed one.

  • GB been quiet lately compared to times gone by, wondering if it's just that nobody's posting?

  • I've asked for reasoning behind this and they said it was simply a "change of strategy".

That explains the lack of GearBest megadeal threads this year.
I miss them, they were the highlight of the week. And I pretty much bought something from each one!
My first GearBest purchase this year was only made last week with the Z102 Multimeter deal.

  • thanx, got one

Looks like everyone's here. Could we maybe get rid of the forum and just have everything under this deal? Might even be able to get people to switch from Facebook to this page. There's a precedent for it.

  • $8 i would consider a few :)))

  • Pity we can't buy more than one, but good code, thanks OP

    • This code allows you to buy more than one. I bought 4.

  • I got one from a previous post and not impressed.

The sensor activates only when I'm already next to the thing - but two steps later I'm already out of the useful lighting area.
Or when I stay around the light, it only activates initially, and then shuts down in 5 seconds and doesn't activate again although waiving hands aso.

  • I recently installed an alarm for an elderly relative. She gets up in night often to go to bathroom etc, and needs a light source to see the alarm remote (and dectivate before she moves through hallway and sets alarm off) .
Would this suit, to have it next to her bedside, and she can just wave hand over near it to get enough light to see the alarm remote. Or would if be getting set off by her rolling over etc in bed, if left on bedside table facing up.

    • If she puts the remote next to it, yes. Does she have a bedside table? On the other, wouldn't she be woken up by the light when it senses moment? Could just put a small table lamp with the weakest globe that can be found or if she has a power point close by just stick one of those mains powered small lights that just illuminate enough to be able to see. one with the switch so you can click on/off or leave it in sense mode.

You can trial an error to find out where best to place the light and activate it. You can buy multiple to light up the path way to bathroom as well. Place it flat on the bedside table would have different activation movements than place it vertically, so best way to find out optimal activation activity is trail and error.

  • Anyone know what's a good equivalent for sensor and only night time led light (battery or wall) is ok.

  • Thanks OP. For those who say that this is a dupe, please note that the other post originally had the code”APAGB03124” which was edited later to this code. I bought using that code (limit 1 per account) and later I noticed that code “APAGB03124” had expired. This code can be used to buy more than one item and this post helped me. I would have never noticed the edit in the other post.

  • I added 1 to my cart so AU$14.40 but when I apply the coupon, the price goes up to AU$19.64??

    Did I miss the deal?

Edit: Doh, I am stupid. Didn't look at the bottom subtotal. All good, coupon working as intended.

  • How long does the light stay on once the motion sensor is activated?

Can you make it stay on for more than 15 seconds?

    • +1

ye i;d say around 15 seconds…I have it set up in a way that they all just light up progressively down the hall, You can't adjust the time-on, only the brightness which is only low or high.

  • Can you post a pic of your hallway? I want to see how they look in action

  • code expired???

    • cheaper at joybuy atm anyway.
