1111GBAU18

Hi All,

I got a few of these in a recent promo through BangGood (i think it was) and threw a few of them about head-height on doors down the hallway, and was really impressed with how well they worked! These help our little one navigate when he decides our bed is warmer and more comfy than his own.

Thanks to Sunny, I've managed to snag a few for everybody else at a ripper price at $7.81 Delivered….need i say more? Quit buying your Venti Coffees and buy a small instead… you don't need all that extra milk anyway. Save the difference for a few days and BAM! #XiaomiPaid.

Limited to first 200 stock,2 times per account,HK,AU,NZ,MY,SG,MO,TW only

300 MORE HAVE BEEN ADDED. Code had been updated for those who missed out

      • Eating into your tech deals Doweyy… Soz haha.. I'll get back to educational toys again after this.

        • +1

You’re not eating into anything my friend! Any deal is a good deal!

    • Jong. I just checked and the code works mate. Did you purchase 1 per transaction? That's how GearBest promos normally work. If you add 2 to your order, code is invalid

      • I ordered one, made sure the coupon was entered after I logged in, checked that it showed the "$5.99 flash sale" message in red, but Paypal's still telling me I've been charged $12.

        • +1

Hmmm you can message them on their support centre… It's very long-winded but they will eventually come to the party… Especially if you can quote the promo and time stamp would sort itself out.. Good luck

        • @andrgram:

          I already have. ;)

        • @jong: if that falls through, send Sunny a DM on ozbargain

        • I just ordered one, opted to pay the extra 0.13 for deliver, and Paypal shows $7.95.

  • Thanks OP!

  • +1

I agree - they work really well, we have 2 of these in our stairwell for kids night walking efforts

  • +2

What the heck man, just got one from the other OZB deal like minutes ago for USD6.99

    • Ye soz, I actually got this deal at about 12noon but didn't upload it because there was a miscommunication where I asked for 200 so everybody got a chance to bite but Sunny accidentally applied 20 units only, so I had to clear things up before I posted.

      • All good, appreciate ur post anyway

  • Thanks. Got one.

The rechargeable one is brighter and only costs a little bit more. Get that one instead.

    • Please provide link

    • +3

true, though its way uglier (have one of each)

      Model Battery Brightness modes
Rechargeable model Built-in 750mAh 3.5 lumens (Sensor) and 7 lumens (Always on)
3x AA battery model 3x AA of your choice 0.8 lumens (Sensor) and 3.8 lumens (Sensor)

The rechargeable one has a brighter setting but that mode does not work in sensor mode and will always remain lit. In fact if using in sensor mode the AA battery model can get even brighter than the rechargeable (3.8lm vs 3.5lm).

It's nice that the one in this deal has a built-in rechargeable battery for an extra dollar, however the capacity is just 750mAh and having it set to the higher non-stop brightness setting, isn't going to last long. In fact you're probably going to find yourself having to recharge it every month or so even at the lower brightness sensor mode (depending on usage).

Thus in my opinion the AA is a much better choice though you would need to invest in AA batteries. For e.g. based on kgb007's stats where his rechargeable model lasts 3+ weeks (let's assume that is 4 weeks), if you had use the AA version + 3x Eneloops (5700mAh vs 750mAh), you can forget about having to replace the batteries for more than half a year (as opposed to a month for the rechargeable model).

      • BAM! Last paragraph clinched it. The thought of having to recharge each light 10-12 times a year - ugh.

  • -1

Hope nobody wasted their money on this battery version. The rechargeable model is better.

    • +1

This one looks better than the other though… I don't get why they didn't just make a usb rechargeable with a battery option in one tbh. We can send a man into space but we can't do that lol

    • Because…….? (why is the rechargeable one better?)

      • +2

I don't get it either. Can't you just use rechargeable batteries?

        • +1

Lol there are just those out there who enjoy finding issues… It's a $7 product that works better than one's 2 to 3 times its price in-store.. What more could you ask for? Enjoy them when they come like I do :)

        • The design is different. I have both and I prefer this one as I can easily swap the batteries (rechargeable of course) and place it back in its place.

        • @k0ka2:

Thats what I'm thinking - light will last as long as the light itself and not until the built in battery dies.

        • +1

A built in battery always costs more than one you have to supply yourself. Also it's li-on. If the price is $1 difference, that's cheaper than buying 3 eneloops and a charger. You can use those batteries for something else.

There is more surface area on the LED, and it's brighter.

The back cover attaches magnetically instead of turning. Turning is harder to put back on when it's stuck to the wall.

        • @X3: They're cheap enough that you can just replace them when the battery dies.

        • @k0ka2:

I have both and I prefer this one as I can easily swap the batteries (rechargeable of course) and place it back in its place.

You can easily remove the rechageable one and charge it then put it back in its place too. I don't see how that's any different to what you're doing.

It's just fewer steps. Remove and plug it in.

With this model you remove the batteries, put into charger, remove from charger and put it back in.

Li-On battery also doesn't have charge memory.

        • @andrgram: the rechargeable version is NOT 2-3x the price. And they are both shipped from overseas so you get them at the same time.

        • @Orpheus: I was comparing the price to one's you can buy in store. In store being in Australia

        • +1

          @lostn:

True, very true, but what wld I do with my 12 billion eneloops? :)

        • @lostn:
I don't stick them, just use the board pins and hang them on the wall/door.

  • The sensor range is not great on this btw. If you put it on the back wall opposite the door you enter, it won't turn on until you get fairly close to it which is not ideal.

    • Really? What distance are you talking? I had one in my walk in robe and it turns on when I'm in my bedroom with the door open

      • Just tested it now. I walked right up to it and it never even turned on. Then I moved side to side and it turned on. It seems to pick up lateral movement ok but directly moving towards it, its sensors are poor.

I have two units set up in the same room. Both are unresponsive and unreliable. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. They can't both be faulty.

        • Ohh yes sorry I should have mentioned mind are almost at a 45 degree to the door.

They work really well in the hallway though… Which is what we mainly use it for

    • To be blunt the sensor is extremely poor, walk past it, nothing.

      • Did you sell your soul?

        • +1

Damn, you saw right through me, was waiting for the Xiaomi Resoul to come out, shouldn't be long.

  • Thanks mate, Ordered one :)

  • +2

    +1 just for this!

"you don't need all that extra milk anyway. Save the difference for a few days and BAM! #XiaomiPaid."

  • Cheers. These look good for lighting up the loo

  • Just bought 2 :(

      Replying to you 😂

      • +1

        give me some sugar baby

  • +1

    Expired

  • More please. The code has expired.

  • What I want to know is the colour. Ad and description say "warm white", but the option to buy and a rep's answer indicate it's "white".

    Which is it?

EDIT: I believe it's just a translation issue. It says "2700K" which indicates the colour temperature would have to be warm-white.

    • +1

      Warm white.
      Source: photos in the reviews

    • +1

White is the colour of the exterior plastic. Warm white is the colour of the LED.

  • Don't know what's wrong but I bought two (2) of these, checked out, used some of my stored GB wallet credit - it went through……. and now it's asking me for more money to make up the original RRP.

    ??!?!?

    • +1

You have to do one per order.thats the way GB work their promos for some reason

      • Wish it wasnt this way. Those duplicate order tickets you need to respond to are annoying!

      • Yeah, but two in the basket = AU$15.63. It took out AU$15.63 from my GB Wallet.
        Now asking for another $8.14.
        ?!?!

  • +1

Plus 1 for the description lol

I've contacted Gearbest rep about this. Hopefully more quantity at $5.99 USD is provided as a remedy to the confusion.

    • +1

More added at this price 1111GBAU18

  • Easily the worst xiaomi product I have

    • Why?

      • Sensor sucks and not very bright and xiaomi stuff rules

        • I wonder if a cheapo equivalent from Bunnings would be better

  • I got couple of them in garage but for some reason they always stayed on and in few days time out of battery.

    • Maybe it senses the heat from the engine and stays on.

  • So sad I missed out. Currently using solar lights inside the house and toilet, would much rather get some Xiaomis instead!

    • +1

Solar lights inside the house and toilet?

      • Yeah. Same function as these lights (activated by motion) but instead of being battery operated, they are solar-powered rechargeable.

        • So you have to bring them out in the sun from time to time?

          What a green lighting solution!

        • Have to bring them out day to day. Which is the annoying part and would much rather use this which can last months!

    • +3

      Yo more added… Code 1111GBAU18

      • Thanks, bought one with 13c registered shipping.
Still $2.40 and $1.40 cheaper than no code and the old code respectively.

  • From FAQ
    Q

How do you fix it to wall? tape? Magnet?

    By Giri Oct-24/2017 07:10:08
    A

    Dear Giri,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

It can not be fixed to wall with tape or Magn

    • +1

Lol Sachy, these come with an adhesive backing.yku just peel the lining off and smack it on the wall.. The adhesive is pretty aggressive, so maybe test it with blutack to see if you are happy with it before you commit. Also comes with a plastic tag which you can apply to the adhesive and hook it onto something if you wish

      • I was just looking at the funny side of the answer

  • Got 2 thanks OP. I have 2 of these from a previous sale. Excellent for hallway and loo at night. Don't need to turn the loo light on. I use the brighter setting. Useful tip: stick it next to a mirror to get double the brightness. Only drawback there is no option to set the length of time the light is on. Sometimes I find the light shuts off too quickly.

  • Are these quite bright or not? Are they only for subtle low lighting in night time environments or could they usefully light up a pantry or WC for example from the ceiling??

  • I'd be keen on the rechargeable version

  • Any idea if it's good to be placed outside/top of the front door or entrance (under cover)? Hate fumbling in the dark with the keys trying to unlock the door

    • Hmm never done that before. You can get an e27 4w light fixture with inbuilt motion sensor… Thats what I did, so I just switch my porch light when I go out, and it only turns on when I'm under it. I can find the ebay purchase link if you want it

      • Yes please. That would be helpful! Thanks

  • I bought two from this sale and got them today but word of warning:

    THE BATTERIES WERE REMOVED!!

This battery powered LED sensor light comes with batteries in the box but mine were missing. The bottom seal was cut in both boxes and the space where the batteries were supposed to be were empty.

Don’t believe me? Check any unboxing video on YouTube and they all show that it comes with three batteries!

    • Hi Samthebear, the batteries are always removed when imported to Australia.. I'm not sure why, but I've have a couple of different items delivered in this manner. Perhaps it's a safety thing.. Im not sure. In any case, the actual website listing clearly states batteries not included so I'm sure many others would not. Have been expecting them.

As for your negative vote, I'm sure your views will change once you use them… They are bloody brilliant IMO

  • I thought it was odd

I received two, both in a sealed bag. One box was opened with no batteries. The other was sealed with 3 orange batteries.

I didn't know they came with batteries so it was a bonus for me.

Cheers! Would like more at this price please!
