Will it mend a broken heart?

you okay cha059? need someone to talk to?

        • All you have to do is believe.

        • @TenaciousTom: I believe in pain away?

        • @cha059: agree. Pain makes human (and dragons) stronger.

This actual information is a little more useful:

        Ingredients

Arnica Montana Flower Tincture, Rosemary Oil, Lavender Oil, Eucalyptus, Emu Oil.

        • Ah yes well studied non-steriodal anti-inflammatory agents. Definitely on the WHO essential list.

        • @LoopyLou:
TGA PDF listing as well: (I did not need like the emu information: TMI)

        • +1

          @LoopyLou: that's why it's $2

        • @LoopyLou: non-steriodal anti-inflammatory agents; do they work for Kaos, or Control?

    • +2

We have a lot of older members at our sports centre that use it.

I was sceptical myself but gave it a try
And was pleasantly surprised it worked.
This will not fix an underlying mechanical problem, but aches and soreness…OK.

      • Does it have a strong odour though? I don't wanna be putting this stuff on in the office if it's gonna stink

        • Yes

        • Very strong.

        • @thedude23:

How's the performance compared to deep heat?

        • +1

@montorola: Very good, very different too. This actually has pain relief properties unlike deep heat which just heats.

    • I gotta say, I spent $13 at Chemistwarehouse : ( , It is for sure did have some cool feeling (maybe really spicy chilli water can do it), however, the feeling won't last long. The best solution for your muscle pain is time.

  • +1

Thanks OP. Bought 1 of each.

  • +3

I think I'm going to need one of these watching WCE this year.

  • +1

    Thanks Heaps OP

  • +2

wonder what are the expiry dates on these products ?

    • +2

I doubt its effectiveness will decrease with age

  • +1

Thanks OP, use the cream regularly so stocked up, plus will give the salts a try.

    • GG57, these look like small containers (cream 70g). I would presume you don't use a lot then.

      • Depends on the extent of the pain / injury I suppose. I don't use much (knee injury, managing pain during recovery) and my partner uses for leg cramps.
Only downside is the 'distinctive' smell, but it is not objectionable.

        • Is this similar to deep heat?

        • @sween64: Similar but different. I don't notice the heat component as much as I do with Deep Heat.

      • exactly…lasts quite a while.

  • +1

    in store also?

    • yep search by your postcode for closest stock

Thanks, my partner has been a PITA.

my folks use the arthritis stuff regularly and im gonna try out some of the sport stuff for post bike rides
$288 worth of product for $32 & available for click & collect at my local…nice ;)

    • +3

      Have they tried Rapigel?

      • im not sure….i can ask. do you recommend it?

        • Nah I was thinking of getting grandmother to try it. A lot of people say it's really good and they haven't had any side effects seeing as it's meant for horses. Shane Crawford swears by it lol.

        • @TarquinOliverNimrod: …ahh that stuff. friends gave my mum some of it and i made her get rid of it…who knows whats in it & possible side effects…hasnt been clinically tested on humans from what i can recollect!?

      • +2

Rapigel worked wonders for my tendonitis

        • +1

Did it take a while to take effect? Grandmother is on Voltaren but it doesn't do much.

    • Both the sports and arthritis ingredients are the same, it's just branding.

      • …thought theyd be identical/virtually identical as well ;)

  • Can't find anywhere to pick up from Queensland

  • +3

Thanks OP, you are my life saver and also budget saver, appreciate for your post.

  • These don't work :(

    • They don't. You must work and when feeling pain these can help

  • just wish they wont cancel because out of stock (power of ozb). pick fews but then local store doesnt have all, so just pay $5 delivery for like 7 items its worth i think

    • $5 delivery only applicable if you buy over $150. normal is 19.95, which kills it I reckon.

      • +2

Nope. Just paid $5 delivery for $24 worth.

        • lenny is wrong seb is correct :D

        • @dragonindespair: how? It asks me to pay 19.95 when I try to order it :S?

        • @dragonindespair: Nevermind. Ignore me. I ordered 10 of the salts so its over the weight limit.

        • @LennyT: hmm maybe you are SPECIAL.
          kidding.
          maybe not metro area.

edit: wow you like salty stuffs!

        • @LennyT:

Could've bought a 20kg bag of mag chloride from the pool shop instead.

        • +1

@thevofa: its 69.95 for 20kg so 3.5 per kg. Its 3.34 for this without shipping. lol.

        • @LennyT:

Should not have to pay more than $40 for a 25kg bag of mag salt. Even bunnings has 12.5kg for $22. That's half your quoted price.

Nonetheless you're right- the price in this deal with free shipping is approaching somewhat sensible.

  • +1

For anybody interested in the "ingredients", I couldn't even find them on the PainAway website which should be red flag enough. But Chemist Warehouse says the ingredients are:

Arnica Montana Flower Tincture, Rosemary Oil, Lavender Oil, Eucalyptus, Emu Oil

    • +2

maybe your local Chemist Warehouse can price match or beat these prices , HAHA

    • I prefer the Hannah Montana Flower, after rubbing on you feel numb for days.

    • Every time I see lavender or tea tree oil I think of prepubertal gynecomastia thanks to reading that news article years ago. You can't win when it comes to eating, drinking, breathing, or skin-rubbing.

  • +1

I used to work in a saddlery, and Rapigel was one of our best selling products. Not for horses, but for people!

    http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/68930/Rapigel-250G

    • +1

Please be aware that this product is registered for use on horses and dogs - not for human use.

…the disclaimer doesnt exactly inspire confidence! :P

      • Irrelevant. It's proven safe by the thousands that use it regularly, symptom free.

        It's brilliantly effective, too.

    • +1

can confirm - used by many in my football team. its great

    • Yeah the Menthol 20mg/g and Camphor 6.25mg/g are the active ingredients in this one and it is similiar to what Physio's use (for people).
The menthol has no interactions or side effects either though somewhere I read a limit of 3% is recommended for use on skin.

  • Bought up all the salts on c&c - much cheaper than the epsom/muscle soaks currently using for recovery.

    • that good? other member lenny also bought alot . damn should have bought more than one of this salt thingie never know what it is

    • Pool shop sells it in 20kg bags. They'd probably give you a kg if you asked nicely.

  • +3

Ouch ! My wallet hurts now after all these deals

    • +1

      I feel ya

      • +7

please do not try to apply the cream to your wallet it wont ease the pain

  • +1

After building up a sweat from eating McDonalds I sometimes get a pain in my chest - This stuff works great.

I put this on my boss once. Havn't seen him since.

    • +2

chest? i got pain in the belly. solved by going to toilet tho.. free

  • +1

Brodened… :D thanks OP. This should help ease the pain OzB has been causing to my wallet lately.

    Edit: Rebel is awesome!

Your order is being shipped from various locations. This means you will receive multiple deliveries at no additional cost.

  • +3

…nice customer service…just got a call to let me know the 3x arthritic creams had been nabbed by an instore customer…theyre going to deliver those 3x for free. good stuff

  • +2

confirmed Chemist Warehouse will not price match haha

    • +1

Always worth a shot! What was their excuse?

      • +2

they will not match clearance items

  • How does this stuff compare to Rapigel? Aside for it being officially fit for human use?

  • +6

Just letting you know I picked up my order and the expiry date is less than 5 months (expires in August)
I have contacted the Customer Support and they advised these are clearance item (obviously) - hence shorted life span

However I can return the product

    • Wait you can also return them to me. Full refund guarantee no question asked.

    • Thats why I walked there to check.

I saw this post just as I was about to goto lunch, got there and a staff member was clearing them out for online orders… grabbed 1… August 2018

  • +1

    ozbargained..

  • The start of Rebel becoming Kogan ?

  • +1

Got one through click and collect. For $2 the expiry date doesn't faze me too much as I'm sure it'll be fine for a while after that.

  • This or Deep Heat?

    • Deep Heat

  • +1

Did anyone else get their order cancelled as "out of stock"? Just got an email maybe 5 minutes ago

    • Yes half of my order was cancelled and refunded. the heat ones were refunded; no stock.

    • I C&C collected my order last Friday. Chatting to the store guy and he had >30 orders on his stores system overnight (Thurs/Fri) that he had no more stock for.
Seems they were OzBargained and their system didn't cope.

  • +2

For any one still interested in the sprays, I note they are avilable for online order
    when surfing their site today
