Ford Ranger 2017 Engine Oil

Hi All,

Having a hard time trying to find a good deal on Engine Oil for Ford Ranger 2017 3.2L.

It may be difficult because of the required Ford Specs WSS-M2C913-D or WSS-M2C950-A and requirements of it being an A5 type oil.

So far I've found:

  • CASTROL MAGNATEC STOP-START 5W-30 A5 (Impossible to find on the shelf)
  • Helix Ultra Professional AF 5W-30 (Impossible to find on the shelf)
  • Nulon FULL SYNTHETIC 5W-30 FUEL EFFICIENT ENGINE OIL (Impossible to find on the shelf)
  • Nulon FULL SYNTHETIC 0W-30 C2 FUEL SAVING DIESEL ENGINE OIL (Impossible to find on the shelf)
  • Penrite ENVIRO+ C2 0W-30 (Impossible to find on the shelf)
  • Penrite FULL SYNTHETIC 5W-30 (Expensive!)
  • GulfWestern Syn-X 7000 5W-30 (Impossible to find)

Has anyone been able to find anything at a reasonable price? Looking to buy in bulk 20L.

  • You could try Gulf Western. They usually sell in 20lt drums.

If you want “A5” oil, have a look at their Syn-X 7000 5w40…

    • Yeah, I came across them too. Any ideas on where to get their 20L's from?

      • Just ring your states GW office and find a dealer and buy off them. You can get 5lt, 20lt and 205lt sizes. We use GW oil at work for all our oils, so I’m happy with it. It’s way cheaper than trying to buy at Supercheap/Repco in 5lt sizes.

        • Just found http://www.caltexsorell.com.au/store/index.php/lubricants/gu…

But for $249, its comparable to those 5L containers from Supercheap ~$50-60.

I'll shoot them an email and see what they say.

          @faceman54:

I’ll give our supplier a call tomorrow or Friday and see what they can do it for. Will report back when I know…

        • @pegaxs: thank you :)

  • Repco used to have Helix Professional AF but not sure if they still do.

    • If only Repco had a functioning website….

Supercheap also sold Valvoline FE, which they no longer stock!

      • Yeah gotta use the phone

yes smartphones can do more than runs apps! =D

  • Diesel engine oils are expensive as you found out.

You'll be able to order in any of them from any automotive parts store, getting a good price for them is another matter.

    You servicing it yourself?

I purchased 5L of Nulon 5w30 (petrol) for $29. Bargain!

    • Not all diesel oils are expensive, the problem is the ford spec oil is hard to find and expensive.

I normally buy Penrite hpr 5w-40 for my petrol cars, this ain't a cheap oil either.

I perform mid 7500km services between the required 15000km as I want to protect the motor as much as I can.

With fully synthetic oils being of really good quality these days, I'd say 15,000km isn't even pushing the life of the oil.
7,500km seems like the oil is still really fresh with little to no degradation.
Last time I bought 5W-30 6L from supercheap auto it was $35
