This is the first meaty expansion for XCOM 2 and is apparently quite good.

I really loved both the first and second game but after completing all the research in the second game , I kind of lost steam because it felt like I was going through the motions of clearing out one battlefield after another. Did this DLC expand alot on the story of the base game? I thought Enemy Within added a substantial amount of material (base invasions, irreversible augmentation, mechs etc.) to the first game but once again because the story arc was pretty much the same, i never got to the end of my second play through after all the research was done.
Been eyeing this DLC and was wondering if AUD 23 is still too much to pay.
I finished it last night.
The story didn't change much. There are some Chosen, there are some factions, they add a nice feeling that the background is better fleshed out but the core story is the same.
However, the missions are more fun with the chosen in them. They have infinite lives until you raid their stronghold.
When you've perma killed all three chosen you should rush to the end game because it becomes too easy considering all the new perks and that you get the Chosen's weapon when they are perma killed (only 1 of them, not a whole squads worth). I had a bad mission where i was mobbed by 9 enemies straight out, after my squad knocked down enemy health slightly the sniper killed 8 guys in a single turn using Serial with the Chosens rifle (and we're talking against a gatekeeper, andromedon, heavy mec, codex, priest… Ie: High health guys or ones that need to die twice)..
The new templar and sniper units are fun. I didn't like the skirmisher. You only get one of each, although I did a covert op that gave mea second sniper unit.
Unit tiredness really makes it hard.
Negative traits / shock etc are really just a minor irritation.
Bummer, just purchased this for $32AUD from recent steam sale.
Definitely worth the $23 pricetag.
One of the Best DLC for the game i could say
