Good price, and it looks nice - but I wouldn't count on it lasting too long.

I bought a very similar kmix kettle 4 years ago which lasted all but 7 months before it started leaking water out of the base. Although to be fair, even the (more) expensive brand name ones are susceptible to the same kind of failure, so it would seem that it may just be a design flaw with cordless units.

Currently using a cheap kambrook one, and while it is yet to leak out the bottom, the metal spout is happily corroding away nicely :)

    • I didn't even have to check where you lived…

Reviews are really bad, would recommend avoiding this kettle.

Shame there is only one reviewer/ vote for that item on productreview though :-)

      • +4

        1 review doesn't give 5 star credibility.

    • I would always take productreview with a grain of salt.

      • Because others’ experience doesn’t reflect yours?

        • +2

Because satisfied customers are less likely to leave product reviews than an unsatisfied customer.

        • @eskylidder:

And sometimes they leave feedback for a different model/product.

          @eskylidder:

satisfied customers are less likely to leave product reviews than an unsatisfied customer.

seems to me that's exactly the reason for taking product reviews seriously.

        • @AlexF: without knowing the number of people who purchased, the reviews are not conclusive. A product that sold 1000 and has 50 bad reviews is probably better than the old sold for 100 but has 20 bad reviews

        • @od810:
to me, quantity of reviews is irrelevant - awareness of types and specifics of problems is paramount - based on such, I can make a decision about product quality and viability.

  • Just bought a beautiful glass full clear kettle yesterday from Harris scarfe 40$ and has a beautiful Led light one year local in store warranty.

Much better deal imo, it's 360 degrees rotation, beautiful glass, hopefully stays clear over time but for 40$ don't really care

Plenty of options here at Harris scarfe

      • Thanks :)

      • Wow, looks good!

      • +2

What "a beautiful glass full clear kettle" it is!? Would definitely pay extra $10 for one listed in the op anyday.

    • I have found glass kettles to be more heavier than I prefer. However, great to be able to see inside…

    • +2

Is the glass beautiful? It sounds beautiful. Although beauty is subjective. What of the LED? I've seen some beautiful LEDs.

    Thanks OP. Nice find.
Strange coincidence for us that we had the kettle and four slice toaster in this range directed to us to buy on a wedding wish list for a family member, The toaster (TFX750CR) alone was going to cost us around $140 from our local store, and the kettle was around $130. Now we just hit both from Amazon for $98.40 delivered. That toaster weighs in at over 3KG out of the box, darn heavy toaster. Just save under $200, thanks OP. Tempted to buy a set for us too at this price.

    • Oh dear, you are going to be "that guy" that bought the toaster >_>

      • +3

That guy who bought them the exact make and model toaster they asked us to get? What is wrong with that?

      • +1

        More like derpderpderp

  • Reviews are mostly negative was planning on getting one.

Most OZB just use hot tap water for making teas.

    • Here, you dropped your /s.

      • +1

woah yep, can't forget that sort of thing. Otherwise you'll cause tempers to … boil!

        /cue groans

  • Thanks!
I have this kettle, mixer and toaster.
All working fine months later (had an issue with the toster initially -exchanged & has been great since)

Getting a spare kettle & with free shipping: $28.80
    What a bargain, cheers!

    • How'd you get the extra $10 off?

    • yes, please tell!

  • Thanks, just ordered one for my cousin for her birthday!

  • I bought the black one in January and it's awesome but not long enough to comment on reliability…

    • Seems like the negative reviews are for the old one so fingers crossed these ones have improved.

      • I saw all those reviews but honestly most reviews are written only when something goes wrong. I've had a lot of different kenwood appliances and never had a single problem.

        • Ritchma, can you tell me the plastic parts (if any) on the inside? Maybe the mesh spout filter (if so, is this removable)? Underneath the lid? Cheers

        • @OldBugger: there is a plastic insert with filter you can remove but the plastic bracket for it remains inside…

        • @Ritchma: thanks

  • Is ceramic a safe material in comparison to stainless steel wiht plastic viewing windows (bpa/other paranoid concerns of excessive boiling)? stainless steel is great but tends to get alot of the rust/colour after awhile. glass kettles next best but pretty expensive usually ?

  • Just wondering, I have never bought anything from Amazon Australia and I can't find any info about it. Does anyone know if these are AU stock and is covered by Australia standard warranty? Many thanks.

  • How did you guys get $38.80? It is showing $39.60 for me?

    • +2

Looks like the price was increased from 97 to 99 (before discount)

      • Thanks. Bought one.

  • Just received this kettle, but the lid button is solid hard, and wont open. Faulty unit.

    • +2

Try to press the button on the handle to open the lid

Damn, wanted to give this kettle a go against better judgment and it's failed. Leaked all over the counter top. I wouldn't risk this near any other appliances and have requested a refund and will be sending it back.
